Description

Partition spring mattress
Technical Field
The utility model relates to the technical field of mattresses, in particular to a zoned spring mattress.
Background
In retail sales of mattresses, an increasing share of sales is achieved by on-line sales, with express delivery of mattresses to on-line customers' hands. When the sponge mattress is initially compressible, foldable and rolled to a sufficiently small size for handling through the logistics network of the courier company, on-line sales are growing. The express company adopts trucks for delivery, and drivers work independently. If large-sized packages are not transported by express delivery, they need to be transported by cargo agency, at least two people are required for each truck, and the cost of transporting such mattresses is too high for low cost mattresses, which are typically sold on-line.
Individual Pocket coils (also known as marshall springs or Pocket springs) in spring mattresses are developed to allow compression, folding and rolling of such mattresses, and therefore compressed sponge mattresses and compressed individual Pocket spring mattresses are often sold on-line.
However, there are some types of spring mattresses that are generally less on-line for being folded and rolled up on any axis. For the larger Queen and King sizes of U.S. mattresses, the combined size of length and perimeter after compression and rolling (unfolded) still exceeds the maximum size acceptable to the courier company. In addition, for such larger sized Queen and King sizes that cannot be folded and rolled arbitrarily in an axial direction, the packaging cartons cannot fit within the standard shelf space of large retailers, who are often also relatively popular sales channels for low cost mattresses. Unlike pocketed springs, such spring mattresses which cannot be folded and rolled arbitrarily in an axial direction have Connected springs (Connected coils) which are Connected in rows by parallel spirals to form a whole web of springs. Two common types of joined springs are Bonnell springs (Bonnell spring) and wire-drawing wire springs (Continuous spring).
Fig. 1 (prior art) shows the spring structure of a bunny spring. The bunnier spring has separate hourglass spring coils 10 connected together by a helix 11. The spiral 11 supports and connects each individual spring coil, typically in rows laterally along the underside and the upper side of the spring coil. The spring structure also has a thick wire edge bar 12 forming a frame for the underside and the upper side of the spring. The wire edge bars 12 may also be eliminated and the wire edge bars 12 may not be required when on-line sales are used to wrap a mattress.
Fig. 2 (prior art) shows two spring structures using wire-drawn wire-lifting springs woven in a mesh structure using one wire, and thus, the wire-drawn wire-lifting springs have no separate independent spring coils. However, the spring coils of the wire-drawing and wire-lifting springs are also connected by transverse rows of spiral wires 13, the spiral wires 13 being arranged along the top and bottom of the spring structure. Likewise, the wire border bar 12 may be eliminated in the figures, and the wire border bar 12 may not be required when on-line sales are used to wrap a mattress.
Fig. 3 (prior art) shows a mattress 14 with buney springs 15, wherein the individual buney spring coils are connected one to the other by parallel transversely arranged spiral lines 11. Mattress 14 also includes a thin sponge layer 16 disposed over the upper surface of bunnier springs 15. Mattress cover 17 encases springs 15 and sponge layer 16. In this example, mattress 14 is a Queen-sized mattress having a length of 80 inches and a width of 60 inches. Fig. 3 shows that the mattress 14 can be folded or rolled about any transverse axis a, while the spiral 11 is not folded or rolled upon itself. If the mattress 14 is compressed and rolled up from bottom to top, a 60 inch long roll of mattress will maintain a linear spiral for each spiral 11. The mattress 14 cannot be folded or rolled about either longitudinal axis B because the spiral 11 cannot be folded or rolled upon itself and if folded or rolled up cannot rebound to a linear spiral after unfolding. For example, even though the mattress 14 may be folded at its central transverse axis after compression, the folded mattress cannot then be wound about a longitudinal axis perpendicular to the spiral 11. Thus, the longest dimension of the package is still 60 inches, such that the combined length and perimeter dimensions of the package exceed the maximum length, perimeter limitations of some courier companies. In addition, a 60 inch length mattress pack cannot fit into a standard height shelf of a large retailer. For a King size (width x length = 76 inches x 80 inches) mattress with a linked spring, the longest dimension of the package after compression and rolling will be very long, such that the combined length and perimeter dimensions of the package will exceed the length and perimeter limitations of most couriers.
In addition, pocketed springs are typically more costly than linked springs, and therefore a lower cost and smaller package size is sought for suitable express package shipping systems and mattresses and mattress packaging methods that fit into a large retailer's standard shelves.

The second transverse section 22 comprises a spiral extending longitudinally along the mattress and connecting adjacent coils in the second transverse section one to one, the coils being wire-drawing wire-lifting springs or bunny springs, which have no separate, independent spring coils. The elasticity of the spiral is inferior to that of the coil, and if the spiral is folded or bent over a certain angle, the spiral cannot be restored. In other embodiments, the spiral may be replaced by other similar structures that serve to connect between adjacent coils and are not foldable or rollable upon themselves.
The mattress has a first fold line 24 and a second fold line 25 extending transversely of the mattress, the first fold line 24 and the second fold line 25 passing through the first transverse zone 21 and the third transverse zone 23, respectively, so that the upper part of the spring layer 20 can be folded along the first fold line 24 towards the second transverse zone 22, the lower part of the spring layer 20 can be folded along the second fold line 25 towards the second transverse zone 22, and the lower part of the spring layer 20 and the upper part of the spring layer 20 are mutually laminated, forming a three-layer mutually laminated mattress after folding.
