According to a second aspect, the utility model relates to a vehicle seat comprising such a backrest.
Background
In the automotive field, it is known to produce a backrest of a vehicle seat comprising a number of comfort and/or safety functions. For this purpose, it is known to attach a support to the frame of the backrest, to mount the different elements required to achieve comfort and/or safety functions on the support or on the frame of the backrest, and then to cover the foam assembly thus obtained, thus forming a cushion. The cover then surrounds the assembly.
Depending on the number and complexity of functions to be integrated into the seat back, the mounting of the back on the assembly chain may be very different. In addition, the assembly operations are tedious and cumbersome and require a certain dexterity on the part of the operator, in particular in order to assemble the covering onto the pad. FIG. 1 is a schematic view of a seat according to a first embodiment of the utility model;
FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the backrest of the chair of FIG. 1;
fig. 3 and 4 are front and rear views, respectively, of the backrest of fig. 2.
Detailed Description
In the remainder of the description, the terms "front", "rear" are used with reference to a longitudinal direction L, which corresponds to the longitudinal extension direction of the seat, which is the normal travel direction of the vehicle in which the seat is mounted. The terms "left" and "right" are used with reference to a transverse direction T that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction L. The terms "top", "bottom", "lower" and "upper" are used with reference to a height direction Z that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction L and the transverse direction T.
Referring to fig. 1, a vehicle seat 10, such as a motor vehicle seat, is disclosed that includes a backrest 12. The seat 10 further includes a seating portion 14 connected to the back 12 and a headrest 16 assembled on the back 12. For example, in a known manner, the backrest 12 is mounted to pivot about a transverse axis 18 relative to the seating portion 14.
As can be seen in more detail in fig. 2, the back rest 12 includes a frame 28 and at least three trim modules 30 mounted on the frame 28. In particular, in the example shown, the backrest 12 comprises a central decorative module 32 and two lateral decorative modules 34 arranged on both sides of the central decorative module 32 in the transverse direction T, forming a right lateral decorative module 36 and a left lateral decorative module 38.
In the example shown, the frame 28 forms a structural frame comprising two flanges 42 spaced apart in the transverse direction T. The flanges 42 are connected to each other by a lower cross member 48 and an upper cross member 50, the lower and upper cross members 48 and 50 extending in the transverse direction T at lower and upper ends of the flanges 42 and being separated from each other in the height direction Z.
The frame 28 defines a front face 52 and a rear face 54 extending in the longitudinal direction L from one side of the support frame 40 to the other. For example, when the seat 10 faces the front of the vehicle, the back surface 54 corresponds to the back of the backrest 12 toward the rear of the vehicle. The front face 52 extends, for example, on the side of a surface for receiving a passenger, against which the back of the passenger rests when the passenger is seated in the seat 10.
The frame 28 includes, for example, a metal member mounted between the flanges 42 on the front face 52 side of the frame 28 and forming a flex layer 59.
In the example shown, the central trim module 32 defines a support surface 56 intended to receive and support a passenger, particularly the back of the passenger. The side trim modules 34 are disposed to protrude relative to the support surface 56 of the central trim module 32. Each side trim module 34 defines a bearing surface 58 intended to receive and support at least one side of the back of the occupant. The central trim module 32 and the side trim modules 34 define a cradle therebetween for receiving a passenger.
Each decoration module 30 is assembled on the frame independently of the other decoration modules 30. In other words, the trim modules 30 are present prior to their assembly on the frame 28 of the backrest 12. Thus, the trim module 30 is not made by over-molding on the frame 28 of the backrest 12 and/or structural elements of the frame 28 that have been rigidly connected to the backrest 12. This does not prevent each decorative module 30 from being made in part by over-molding the support. In this case, however, the overmolding is performed prior to assembly of the decorative module 30 on the frame 28. In other words, each decorative module 30 may be assembled on the frame 28 when other decorative modules 30 are not yet mounted on the frame 28.
Each side trim module 34 may include a support (e.g., in the form of a plate), a cushion 60 attached to the support, and a covering 62 surrounding at least a portion of the cushion 60. Each side trim module 34 extends primarily in the height direction Z between an upper end 64 and a lower end 66.
Each side trim module 34 is mounted to the frame 28. In particular, the support of each side trim module 34 is mounted on a corresponding flange 42 of the frame 28, for example by elastic fitting and/or screwing and/or by force attachment.
The cushion 60 is, for example, a foam body such as polyurethane foam or the like. The cushion 60 imparts its comfort qualities to the side trim module 34. The pad 60 is preferably made of a single piece. For example, the gasket 60 is obtained by cutting into a plate. The pad 60 is adhered or resiliently mounted to the support. The pad 60 then preferably includes inserts that form a raised pattern that resiliently fits onto the support. In one variation, the cushion 60 is overmolded onto the support.
The cover 62 at least partially covers the cushion 60 of the side trim module 34 to form an outer surface 68 of the side trim module 34, i.e., the portion of the side trim module 34 visible from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Covering 62 imparts its look and feel to side trim module 34. Cover 62 is made of, for example, fabric or leather, and is made of natural or synthetic materials.
According to various embodiments, each side trim module 34 includes one or more elements that are each associated with one or more passenger comfort or safety functions, for example. For example, each side trim module 34 includes at least one inflatable bag and/or at least one inflatable massage cushion and/or side airbag arrangement for adjusting the side retention of the occupant's back attached to the support of each side trim module. In general, each of the side trim modules 34 and/or the central trim module 32 may be equipped with one or more comfort and/or safety systems.
The central trim module 32 preferably includes a support 70 (e.g., in the form of a plate), a cushion 72 attached to the support 70, and a cover 74 at least partially covering the cushion 72.
The support 70 extends in the height direction Z between a lower end 76 and an upper end 78, preferably being curved. The upper end 78 rests on the upper cross member 50 of the frame 28. The support 70 is assembled to the frame 28 on the front 52 side of the frame 28. In particular, the lower end 76 of the support 70 is assembled to the lower cross member 48 of the frame 28. To this end, the upper and lower ends 78, 76 of the support 70 and the upper and lower beams 50, 48 of the frame 28, respectively, are engaged with each other by attachment means. For example, the attachment means may include a complementary relief for force attachment of the central decorative module 32 and/or a complementary relief for resilient mounting (e.g., a clip attached by resilient mounting).
The liner 72 is assembled on the support 70, for example. The spacer 72 extends between an upper end 73 and a lower end 75 in the height direction Z. The gasket extends only on the front side of the frame 28. The cushion 72 is, for example, a foam such as polyurethane foam. When the occupant uses the seat, they press against the cushion 72. The cushion 72 imparts its comfort qualities to the central decorative module 32. The liner 72 is preferably made of a single piece. For example, the liner 72 is obtained by cutting into plates. The liner 72 is adhered or resiliently mounted to the support 70. The pad 72 then preferably includes inserts that form a raised pattern that resiliently fits onto the support 70. In one variation, the liner 72 is overmolded onto the support 70.
The cover 74 covers the frame 28 and the cushion 72 to form an outer surface 82 of the central trim module 32, i.e., the portion of the central trim module 32 visible from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. In particular, cover 74 extends across frame 28 on the side of back 54 of frame 28. The overlay 74 imparts its look and feel to the central decorative module 32. The cover 74 is made of, for example, fabric or leather, and is made of natural or synthetic materials.
In the example shown, the cover 74 includes a front cover member 86 extending on the front side 52 of the frame 28 and a rear cover member 88 extending on the rear side 54 of the frame 28. In the example shown, the front cover element 86 and the rear cover element 88 are located on both sides of the attachment region 84 in the longitudinal direction L.
The front cover element 86 extends mainly in the height direction Z between a lower end 90 and an upper end 92. The front cover element 86 also extends in the transverse direction T between the right side edge 94 and the left side edge 96. The front cover member 86 covers the cushion 72. In the example shown, the front cover element 86 is attached to the pad 72, for example by gluing. Preferably, the entire surface of the front cover element 86 is attached to the pad 72.
The rear cover element 88 extends mainly in the height direction Z between a lower end 98 and an upper end 100. The lower end 98 preferably forms a free edge. The rear cover element 88 also extends in the transverse direction T between a right side edge 102 and a left side edge 104. The rear cover element 88 covers the frame 28, and more particularly the rear face 54 of the frame 28. Preferably, the rear cover element 88, the frame 28 and the support 70 of the central decorative module 32 define an empty gap space therebetween, that is, the gap space is devoid of elements disposed in the gap space between the support 70 and the rear cover element 88.
According to the utility model, the backrest 12 further comprises at least two reversible attachment means 106. Each covering 62 of the side trim module 34 is connected to the covering 74 of the central trim module 32 by at least one reversible attachment means 106.
"reversible attachment means" is understood to be attachment means that enable the assembly and disassembly of the covering 62 of the side trim module 34 and the covering 74 of the central trim module 32 without affecting the physical integrity of the coverings 62, 74. Advantageously, each reversible attachment means 106 is a zip fastener comprising a first toothed strip 108 attached to the covering 74 of the central decoration module 32, a second toothed strip 110 attached to the covering 62 of the corresponding lateral decoration module 34, and a slider 112 suitable for assembling or disassembling the first and second toothed strips 108, 110.
Preferably, the slider 112 includes a gripping member that allows a user to move the slider 112 along the first and second toothed strips 108, 110 during assembly and disassembly.
It should be appreciated that according to certain embodiments, once the covering 62 of the side trim module 34 and the covering 74 of the center trim module 32 are assembled together, the clamping members are intended to remain secured to the slider 112. According to other embodiments, once the covering 62 of the side trim module 34 and the covering 74 of the center trim module 32 are assembled together, the clamping member is separated from the slider 112. However, the covering 62 of the side trim module 34 and the covering 74 of the center trim module 32 may be disassembled by repositioning the clamping members on the slider 112 or by using a tool adapted to attach to the slider 112 and allowing the slider 112 to move along the first and second toothed strips 108 and 110.
In one variation, the slider 112 has no clamping members. Movement of the slider 112 along the first toothed belt 108 and the second toothed belt 110 is performed using a tool releasably attached to the slider 112.
In one variation (not shown), the reversible attachment device 106 is a hook-and-loop attachment device that includes a first textile strip that includes hooks attached to one of the covers 74 of the central decorative module 32 and the covers 62 of the side decorative modules 34 and a second textile strip that includes loops attached to the other of the covers 74 of the central decorative module 32 and the covers 62 of the side decorative modules 34 that engage with the hooks of the first strip.
In the example shown, the backrest 12 includes a first reversible attachment means 114 and a second reversible attachment means 116. The first reversible attachment means 114 connects the right side edge 94 of the front cover element 86 and the right side edge 102 of the rear cover element 88 to the covering 62 of the side trim module 34, and in particular to the covering 62 of the right side trim module 36. The second reversible attachment means 116 connects the left side edge 96 of the front cover element 86 and the left side edge 104 of the rear cover element 88 to the covering 62 of the side trim module 34, and in particular to the covering 62 of the left side trim module 38. Each of the reversible attachment means 114, 116 extends from the lower end 90 of the front cover element 86 to the lower end 98 of the rear cover element 88. The first reversible attachment means 114 extends along the right side edge 94 of the front cover element 86 and along the right side edge 102 of the rear cover element 88. The second reversible attachment means 116 extends along the left side edge 96 of the front cover element 86 and along the left side edge 104 of the rear cover element 88. Thus, each reversible attachment device 114, 116 extends on both sides of the frame 28, on the front 52 side and on the back 54 side. Preferably, the first toothed belt 108 and the second toothed belt 110 are engaged with each other on the front face 52 side, and the slider 112 moves from the front face 52 side toward the back face 54 side. In one variation, the first toothed belt 108 and the second toothed belt 110 are engaged with each other on the back side 54 side, and the slider 112 moves from the back side 54 side toward the front side 52 side.
Preferably, the reversible attachment means 114, 116 are symmetrical with respect to the median height plane P of the backrest 12. The middle height plane P is a plane substantially perpendicular to the transverse direction T that divides the backrest 12 into left and right portions substantially identical to each other.
According to various embodiments, central trim module 32 includes one or more elements each associated with one or more passenger comfort and/or safety functions. For example, the central trim module 32 includes means for inflating the seat back and/or means for massaging and retaining the back of the occupant and/or heating means and/or at least one speaker.
A method for manufacturing the backrest 12 as described above will now be described.
First, the method includes the step of providing the frame 28 of the backrest 12 and three trim modules 30. In this step, the frame 28 of the backrest 12 may optionally have been attached to the seating portion 14.
The trim module 30 is then mounted on the frame 28. The order for installing the decoration modules 30 may depend on the geometry of the support of the various decoration modules 30, in particular on the nature of the attachment to the frame 28. For example, it may be initiated by mounting each side trim module 34 on the frame 28 and then placing the center trim module 32 between two side trim modules 34. In one variation, the central trim module 32 is first mounted on the frame 28, and then each side trim module 34 is disposed on the frame 28.
Each decorative module 30 is assembled on the frame 28 using one or more of the attachment devices mentioned above.
The covers 62 of the side trim modules 34 are then connected to the covers 74 of the center trim module 32 using the reversible attachment apparatus 114, 116.
In particular, in the example shown, for the first reversible attachment means 114, the first toothed strip 108 of the cover 74 of the central decoration module 32 is engaged with the second toothed strip 110 of the cover 62 of the right side decoration module 36 at the slider 112. The slider 112 is then slid from the lower end 90 of the front cover member 86 along the right side edge 94 of the front cover member 86 to assemble the front cover member 86 to the covering 62 of the right side trim module 36 on the front side 52 of the frame 28, and then slid along the right side edge 102 of the rear cover member 88 to assemble the rear cover member 88 to the covering 62 of the right side trim module 36 on the back side 54 of the frame 28. The same operation is repeated for the second reversible closure device 116 to assemble the left side edge 96 of the front cover element 86 and the left side edge 104 of the rear cover element 88 to the covering 62 of the left side trim module 38.
In one variation, for the first reversible attachment device 114, the first toothed strip 108 of the cover 74 of the central trim module 32 engages with the second toothed strip 110 of the cover 62 of the right side trim module 36 at the slider 112. The slider 112 is then slid from the lower end 98 of the rear cover element 88 along the right side edge 102 of the rear cover element 88 to assemble the rear cover element 88 to the covering 62 of the right side trim module 36 on the back side 54 of the frame 28, and then slid along the right side edge 94 of the front cover element 86 to assemble the front cover element 86 to the covering 62 of the right side trim module 36 on the front side 52 of the frame 28. The same operation is repeated for the second reversible closure device 116 to assemble the left side edge 96 of the front cover element 86 and the left side edge 104 of the rear cover element 88 to the covering 62 of the left side trim module 38.
The second embodiment (not shown) is described by the difference with respect to the first embodiment.
In this embodiment, the cover 74 is attached to the liner 72 only along at least one attachment region at the upper end of the liner 72. For example, the cover 74 is stitched or glued to the pad 72 along at least one attachment region formed by at least one stitching or glue line extending along an axis substantially parallel to the transverse direction T.
The assembling method of the backrest 12 is the same as that described in the first embodiment.
The third embodiment (not shown) is described by the difference with respect to the first embodiment.
In this embodiment, the covering 74 of the central decorative module 32 is not attached to the liner 72 of the central decorative module 32. Thus, the covering 74 of the central decorative module 32 is removable. "removable" is understood to mean that the covering 74 of the central decorative module 32 is configurable between a separated configuration in which the covering 74 is positioned away from the side decorative modules 34 and the cushion 72 of the central decorative module 32, and an assembled configuration in which the covering 74 of the central decorative module 32 is at least partially assembled with one covering 62 of the side decorative modules 34. It should be appreciated that the change in configuration is performed without affecting the physical integrity of the covers 74, 62 of the trim module 30 and the liner 72 of the central trim module 32.
The method for assembling the backrest 12 according to the second embodiment is the same as the method for assembling the backrest 12 according to the first embodiment.
Customization and repairability of the back rest 12 is improved because the covering 74 of the central trim module 32 can be easily changed without having to disassemble the trim module 30 from the frame 28 of the back rest 12.
The fourth embodiment (not shown) is described by the difference with respect to the first embodiment.
In this embodiment, the reversible attachment means 114, 116 connect only the rear cover element 88 to the side trim module 34. In particular, the first reversible attachment means 114 connects the right side edge 102 of the rear cover element 88 to the covering 62 of the side trim module 34, in particular to the covering 62 of the right side trim module 36. The second reversible attachment means 116 connects the left side edge 104 of the rear cover element 88 to the covering 62 of the side trim module 34, in particular to the covering 62 of the left side trim module 38. In this embodiment, each reversible attachment device 114, 116 extends from the lower end 98 of the rear cover element 88 to the upper end 100 of the rear cover element 88. Thus, each reversible attachment device 114, 116 extends only on the back side 54 of the frame 28.
Preferably, during assembly, the first and second toothed strips 108, 110 engage each other at the upper end 100 of the rear cover element 88, and the slider 112 moves from the upper end 100 toward the lower end 98 of the rear cover element 88.
In this embodiment, the front cover element 86 is attached to the frame 28, for example, on the front face 52 side. Preferably, each side edge 94, 96 of the front cover element 86 includes a plurality of attachment members that mate with a portion of the frame 28 and, in particular, with the flange 42 of the frame 28.
During assembly of the backrest 12, the front cover member 86 is preferably first assembled to the frame 28, and then the rear cover member 88 is connected to the covering 62 of the side trim module 34.
Thus, the backrest 12 according to the utility model is particularly advantageous. In fact, such a decor of the backrest 12 can be easily and quickly mounted on the frame 28 of the backrest 12. Further, by adjusting the partial covers 74 and pieces of the central trim module 32 and/or the side trim modules 34, the seat back 12 of the vehicle seat 10 having a variable function and appearance may be installed while still maintaining the same overall configuration of the back 12 having three independent trim modules 30, thereby improving customization of the seat 10. The repairability of the seat 10 is improved because the trim modules 30 can be replaced independently of one another. The reversible attachment devices 114, 116 make it easier to assemble the trim modules 30 to one another and reduce the time required to assemble the back 12 of the seat 10. The rear cover element 88 makes it possible to obtain a backrest with a satisfactory aesthetic appearance without having to use an expensive shell and making the backrest 12 heavier.
