Description

Outdoor lightning attack counter
Technical Field
The present utility model relates to an outdoor lightning attack counter (LSC).
Background
Lightning is a naturally occurring electrostatic discharge during which there are two charged areas, both in the atmosphere or one above ground, temporarily neutralizing themselves, resulting in a transient release of on average one gigajoule of energy. Such discharges can produce a wide range of electromagnetic radiation from the heat generated by the rapid movement of electrons, which can severely damage electrical equipment.
The lightning attack counter is a tool used in a Lightning Protection System (LPS) for collecting information about the discharges suffered by the equipment and its characteristics, with the aim of improving the safety of the Lightning Protection System (LPS) and knowing whether emergency repair is required.
With the increasing popularity of lightning protection technologies, the use of lightning recording technologies is becoming more and more widespread due to the need for lightning event assessment and post-hoc analysis. However, most lightning recording related technologies and products on the market today are mainly indoors. For outdoor use needs with severe environments, a box body with a waterproof function is often simply added to meet the needs of higher protection levels. This not only facilitates installation, use and maintenance, but also increases costs and installation space.
CN 206740849U discloses a lightning attack counter which uses a nixie tube to display the number of lightning attacks and a toggle switch to check and clear the data. The lightning attack counter comprises a signal input circuit, a main control circuit and a function display circuit. The signal input circuit obtains lightning energy through the coil, and the lightning energy is input to the main control circuit through the optocoupler isolation. The master control circuit is used for the cumulative counting and control functions of lightning to provide circuit status information to the display.
