Description

Faucet with mounting system that absorbs tolerances
Technical Field
The present utility model relates to a tap having a system for mounting components of the tap, and more particularly, to a tap having a system for mounting between an adjustment twist grip and the body of the tap itself.
Background
Conventionally, taps known in the prior art have a mounting system between an adjustment turning handle and a cartridge fixed inside the tap body, which is based on a fixed mechanical engagement in the longitudinal direction of the rotation axis of the adjustment handle, preventing displacement of the joined components-handle, cartridge and tap body-in this longitudinal direction.
This known configuration allows mounting of the tap elements with relative radial movement between the tap elements while fixing the tap elements in their longitudinal mounting position. This means that due to manufacturing tolerances of the different tap elements, the final mounting distance with respect to the tap body may be large in the longitudinal direction of the rotation axis of the handle, leaving a free gap that may not be needed or even be aesthetically acceptable.
On the other hand, these tolerances may minimize or eliminate the distance and may lead to friction between components and possibly even to failure of components.
This conventional manner of constructing and manufacturing the tap, and more particularly, of determining the manufacturing and mounting tolerances between the adjustment rotary handle and the body of the tap, necessitates the use of working systems with more precise tolerances in terms of quality control and therefore more expensive systems that may also have less precise end results visually due to the resulting clearances created by the increased tolerances of each element.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the present utility model is to provide a tap with a mounting system that absorbs tolerances, which tap allows to solve the above drawbacks while presenting the additional advantages described below.
In accordance with this object, the utility model is based on a tap with a mounting system that absorbs tolerances, wherein the tap comprises a body housing at least one mixing cartridge and/or a flow regulating cartridge fixed in the body, to which at least one flow and/or temperature regulating rotary handle is coupled, which rotary handle performs a rotary movement with respect to the body.
Advantageously, the utility model is configured such that the axial attachment between the barrel of the body and the turning handle is achieved by means of a threaded attachment element. The threaded attachment element passes through the structure of the turning handle and is screwed onto and fixed to the barrel without itself directly exerting pressure on the turning handle. The term axial attachment refers to determining the longitudinal position of the turning handle and the barrel on the rotational axis of the turning handle to engage between the turning handle and the barrel.
Advantageously also, the utility model is characterized in that the threaded attachment element comprises a spring or similar elastic element, which is fixed between the free end of the threaded attachment element itself and the structure of the rotating handle, such that: in the position in which the threaded attachment element is mounted and attached to the cartridge, the threaded attachment element does not exert pressure on the turning handle, but the spring exerts pressure on the turning handle towards the body of the tap, allowing the turning handle to move longitudinally outwards by means of an elastic connection between the threaded attachment element and the handle itself, with interference with the body of the tap.
For clarity, in this specification the term cartridge should be understood to include water conditioning and/or dispensing devices, including mixing conditioning cartridges, temperature or flow conditioning cartridges and water dispensing elements.
By this configuration, a tap is obtained with a mounting system that allows to absorb the different tolerances of the elements mounted longitudinally along the rotation axis of each adjustment rotation handle. The effect of the mounting pressure exerted by the elastic element on the turning handle allows fine adjustment and, in case of interference between the parts, a change of the longitudinal position due to the attachment by means of the elastic element.
According to an alternative but preferred embodiment of the utility model, the tap comprises a friction ring with at least one annular surface arranged between the outer contour of the turning handle and the circumferential contact of the body.
The inclusion of the friction ring, which incorporates a surface between the edge of the turning handle and the closest surface of the tap body that may create friction, allows for improved sensitivity to rotation and ergonomics, yet avoids possible direct contact between the surfaces of the two parts of the turning handle and the tap body. Optionally, the friction ring is made of at least polyoxymethylene.
Also optionally but preferably, the friction ring has a surface for blocking radial movement of the mounting location between the rotatable handle and the body in addition to the inter-piece surface described above.
The radial movement blocking surface extends in a continuous manner through the interiors of the two components, thereby preventing radially mismatched movement of one of the components relative to the other component.
According to a possible embodiment of the utility model, the tap is a temperature regulated tap.
Drawings
For a better understanding of the description made herein, a set of drawings is provided in which the actual situation of an embodiment is depicted schematically and by way of non-limiting example only.
FIG. 1 is a partial view in cross-section of a thermostatic faucet having a rotatable handle mounted on a water flow regulating cartridge that is fixedly mounted in the faucet body.
Fig. 2 is a complete cross-sectional view of the same thermostatic faucet as that of fig. 1.
Detailed Description
In the presently preferred embodiment of the present utility model, and as shown in fig. 1 and 2, a temperature regulated faucet 10 is provided, the faucet 10 comprising a body 11, the body 11 containing a water mixing cartridge 12 on one side and a water delivery flow regulating cartridge 12' on the other side.
The adjustment knob 13 is mounted coaxially with the barrel 12, 12 'such that the two pieces of the barrel 12, 12' and knob 13 are aligned and thus the knob 13 is aligned with the body 11 of the faucet 10.
All of the components of the body 11, rotary handle 13 and cartridges 12, 12' have manufactured dimensions with their corresponding tolerances such that, within specified tolerances, it is desirable to include or take into account the separation between the components for allowing proper assembly and relative rotation between the components without interference or jamming, but the separation between the elements is not greater than the product required or allowed spacing.
To this end, as can be seen in fig. 1, the tap 10 incorporates a threaded attachment element 14 of screw type or similar type as an axial attachment element between the turning handle 13 and the cartridge 12. The threaded attachment element 14 is attached to the barrel 12 by passing the threaded portion of the threaded attachment element 14 from the interior of the turning handle 13 through an opening 18 in a structure 17 of the turning handle 13, the threaded document 14 exerting no attachment pressure on the turning handle 13.
The threaded attachment element 14 has a spring 15, which spring 15 is fixed on one side at the free end 16 of the threaded attachment element 14 and on the other side to a structure 17 of the rotary handle 13, which spring 15 is in a coaxial position between the attachment area of the barrel 12 and said free end 16, so that the threaded attachment element 14 after being fixed in the barrel 12 does not press on itself the rotary handle 13 in the correct mounting position of the rotary handle 13, but the spring 15 performs this effect under compression when the threaded attachment element 14 is attached to the barrel 12.
If the tolerances are insufficient to ensure a certain spacing at the location of the various components in the final assembly, the flexible attachment allows the turning handle 13 to move longitudinally in opposite directions with the mounting position of the turning handle 13 with the outer contour 19 of the turning handle 13 interfering with the outer surface 20 of the body 11.
In the present embodiment there is also a friction ring 21 made of polyoxymethylene, which friction ring 21 is positioned to be mounted inside the tap, which friction ring 21 has a surface 22, which surface 22 is placed laterally between the outer contour 19 of the turning handle and the contact of the outer surface 20 of the body 11, to improve the ergonomics and sensitivity of the appearance and rotation of the turning handle 13, which rotation of the turning handle 13 will be transferred to the cylinders 12, 12 'by means of radial movement of the turning handle 13 with the cylinders 12, 12' by means of the connecting elements.
In the preferred embodiment, the friction ring 21 also has a surface 23, which surface 23 serves to block radial movement of the mounting position between the rotary handle 13 and the body 11, but in alternative embodiments not shown, the surface 23 may be omitted. This is achieved by forming the blocking surface 23 as a cylindrical piece-like inner wall, which retaining surface 23 allows to coaxially arrange the two pieces 12, 13 by having the same radius on both sides of the transverse surface 22, thus preventing said radial movement.
While the utility model has been described with reference to a specific embodiment, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the described tap is susceptible to numerous changes and modifications, and that all the details mentioned may be substituted by other technically equivalent ones without departing from the scope of protection defined by the attached claims.
