Detailed Description
The vehicle seat 10 is shown in fig. 1.
The seat 10 can be disposed in a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle and receive an occupant.
Alternatively, the seat 10 is disposed in an aerial, rail or marine vehicle.
The seat 10 defines a longitudinal direction X that is the same as the longitudinal direction of the vehicle in which the seat 10 is mounted. The longitudinal direction X corresponds to the normal direction of travel of the vehicle and the length of the vehicle.
The seat 10 also defines a transverse direction Y that corresponds to a direction perpendicular to the normal direction of vehicle travel and the width of the vehicle.
The seat 10 also defines a height direction Z that is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction X and the transverse direction Y and corresponds to the height of the vehicle.
Hereinafter, the terms "horizontal" and "vertical", "front" and "rear" are understood with respect to these longitudinal direction X, transverse direction Y and height direction Z.
The seat 10 is mounted, for example, on a sliding mechanism, not shown, so that the position of the seat 10 in the longitudinal direction X-X' can be adjusted.
Referring to fig. 1, a seat 10 includes a seat cushion 14 to which a backrest 16 is mounted, and advantageously includes a headrest 20.
The seat cushion 14 protrudes from the backrest 16 substantially in the longitudinal direction X.
In particular, the seat cushion 14 includes a frame 22 and a cover 24.
The frame 22 comprises two side flanges 26 each extending in the longitudinal direction X.
In particular, as can be seen in fig. 2, each side flange 26 extends in a vertical plane along a longitudinal direction X.
The two side flanges 26 extend protruding on both sides of the backrest 16 with respect to the transverse direction Y.
Each side flange 26 is formed of a metal material in particular in order to ensure good mechanical strength.
Each side flange 26 includes a front portion 28 and a rear portion 30 defined in the longitudinal direction X.
Thus, the front portion 28 of each side flange 26 is positioned toward the front of the vehicle in the longitudinal direction X. The front portion 28 extends longitudinally in the longitudinal direction X over the front half of the associated side flange 26.
The rear portion 30 of each side flange 26 is positioned toward the rear of the vehicle in the longitudinal direction X. The rear portion 30 extends longitudinally in the longitudinal direction X over the rear half of the associated side flange 26.
The backrest 16 is attached, in particular, at the rear 30 of the side flanges 26.
As can be seen in fig. 2, each side flange 26 includes a fastening region 32 that is capable of mating with the backrest 16.
Each fastening region 32 is disposed on the rear portion 30 of the associated side flange 26.
In particular, each fastening region 32 includes, among other things, a recess 34 and at least one opening 36 defined in the recess 34.
Here, each fastening region 32 comprises two openings 36 defined substantially along the longitudinal direction X.
Each fastening region 32 is capable of mating with an associated fastening support 40 disposed on the backrest 16.
In particular, the backrest 16 comprises two fastening supports 40 on both sides of the backrest 16 with respect to the transverse direction Y. Each fastening support 40 defines one or more openings 42 that can be placed to face the openings 36 of the associated fastening region 32.
Each fastening support 40 is advantageously attached rotatably to the backrest 16 by an adjustment means 44, here manual, allowing the occupant to adjust the inclination of the backrest 16 relative to the seat cushion 14.
Each fastening support 40 can be attached to the associated fastening region 32 via fastening means inserted in both openings 36, 42.
The fastening means are for example screws or bolts.
Thus, the backrest 16 can be attached to the seat cushion 14 at each fastening region 32 of the side flanges 26.
The cover 24 at least partially covers the frame 22.
In particular, the cover 24 at least partially covers the two fastening areas 32 so as to partially form the outer surface of the seat cushion 14, i.e. the portion of the seat cushion 14 visible from the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
Thus, the cover 24 imparts its look and feel to the seat cushion 14.
As can be seen in fig. 1, the cover 24 includes two fabric strips 46.
In particular, each fabric strip 46 is constructed of a polyester fiber material.
Two fabric strips 46 extend along the associated side flanges 26 on either side of the seat cushion 14.
Each fabric strip 46 at least partially covers an associated one 32 of the two fastening regions 32 of the seat cushion 14.
In an advantageous embodiment, as shown in fig. 1, each fabric strip 46 completely covers the associated fastening region 32. In other words, the fastening region 32 is not visible to an occupant in the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
Thus, the fabric strips 46 prevent access to the fastening areas 32, thereby ensuring the integrity of these fastening areas 32. In addition, the fabric strip 46 ensures occupant safety by preventing potential injury from contact with the fastening region 32.
As shown in fig. 1, the seat cushion 14 is devoid of trim made of plastic material covering the fastening region 32.
In fact, the fabric strip 46 avoids the use of large lateral trim elements made of plastic material to protect the frame 22 and thus reduces the ecological impact of creating the seat cushion 14.
Each fabric strip 46 defines a front end and a rear end.
The cover 24 includes a support surface 50 capable of receiving an occupant.
The support surface 50 extends from the backrest 16 substantially along a horizontal plane.
The bearing surface 50 is in particular constituted by a polyester fabric.
Each fabric strip 46 is advantageously stitched at its forward end to a support surface 50.
Referring to fig. 1, each fabric strip 46 is attached at its rear end to the rear portion 30 of the associated side flange 26.
For this purpose, the seat cushion 14 further comprises a rear contour 52 extending in the transverse direction Y between the rear portions 30 of the two side flanges 26.
The rear contour 52 is composed in particular of a plastics material.
The rear profile 52 can attach each fabric strip 46 to an associated side flange 26.
In particular, the rear ends of the fabric strips 46 are wedged between the frame 22 and the rear profile 52 attached thereto.
Alternatively, the seat cushion 14 includes two rear profiles on both sides of the seat cushion, with each fabric strip 46 attached by one rear profile.
Also alternatively, the rear ends of the fabric strips 46 are attached to the rear portions 30 of the associated side flanges 26 by elastic cords.
