The lantern of claim 4, wherein said portable portion has an inverted U-shaped configuration, said connecting portion has two horizontally spaced apart uprights, one of said uprights being connected to one end of said portable portion and the other of said uprights being connected to the other end of said portable portion.
8. The lantern of claim 7, wherein said light emitting elements are provided in at least two and each is located in said upright.
9. The lantern of claim 7, wherein said carrier section is a barrel structure, and further comprising barrel sockets for receiving said ornaments, said barrel sockets being detachably disposed within said carrier section.
10. The lantern of claim 1, wherein said housing is removably assembled from a base plate and front and rear corresponding front and rear housings, said base plate being located at the bottom of said front and rear housings.
