Without further limitation, an element defined by the phrase "comprising one … …" does not exclude the presence of other like elements in a process, method, article or apparatus that comprises the element.
Referring to fig. 1 to 4, an airbag 1 is provided in an embodiment of the present application, which is suitable for use in the automotive field and is used for protecting a driver or a passenger in the event of a collision of an automobile. The airbag 1 includes an airbag body 10 and a tether 20. The airbag body 10 is disposed on an a-pillar 72 of a vehicle frame for inflating and expanding from the a-pillar 72 into a vehicle cabin to form a side curtain during a vehicle collision. The airbag body 10 includes an inflation region 11, a first non-inflation region 12, and a second non-inflation region 13. The airbag body 10 is an airbag, the inflation region 11 may be, but is not limited to, an inflatable region formed around the airbag by sewing with a sewing thread, and the non-inflation region may be, but is not limited to, other non-inflatable regions.
In some embodiments of the present application, the non-inflatable region is another region that is separated at the periphery of the inflatable region 11. Wherein the non-inflatable region comprises a first non-inflatable region 12 and a second non-inflatable region 13. The first non-inflatable region 12 surrounds the inflatable region 11, and the second non-inflatable region 13 is a transverse U-shaped range surrounded by a part of the sewing thread on the outer periphery of the inflatable region 11 extending toward the inflatable region 11, so that the second non-inflatable region 13 is connected to the first non-inflatable region 12 and extends toward the inflatable region to be between the inflatable region 11 and the first non-inflatable region 12.
It will be appreciated that the shape of the second non-inflatable region 13 is not limited to that described above. In other possible embodiments, the second non-inflatable region 13 may be altered in shape as desired by adjusting the sewing thread path of the inflatable region 11. Alternatively, in other embodiments of the present application, the second non-inflatable region 13 may be isolated from the first non-inflatable region 12 by being independently disposed within a range surrounded by the sewing thread of the inflatable region 11, and maintained at a proper distance. The second non-inflatable region 13 is mainly connected to one end of the pull strap 20, so that the area of the second non-inflatable region 13 is smaller than the area of the inflatable region 11, and thus the existing functions of the inflatable region 11 are not affected.
Furthermore, in the present embodiment, the second non-inflatable region 13 may be, but is not limited to, extending a predetermined distance in the first direction D1 toward the inflatable region 11 to form the lateral U-shaped extent described above. The second non-inflatable region 13 comprises opposing extension segments 131 and closure segments 132, wherein the closure segments 132 are adjacent to the inflatable region 11, and the extension segments 131 are connected between the first non-inflatable region 12 and the closure segments 132.
The drawstring 20 includes opposite fixed and free ends 21, 22. The fixed end 21 is connected to the closed section 132 of the second non-inflatable region 13. The free end 22 extends beyond the airbag body 10 for attachment to the a-pillar 72 of the vehicle frame and is spaced a suitable distance from the airbag body 10 so that the tether 20 pulls the airbag body 10 in the proper protective position when the airbag body 10 is fully deployed.
It should be noted that, in the prior art, when the structural design of the air bag needs to be increased, the length of the pull strap 20 can be generally only cut down, but the air bag body 10 provided in the embodiment of the present application extends in the first direction D1 through the path change of the sewing thread to form the second non-inflatable region 13 in the first direction D1 for fixing the fixing end 21 of the pull strap 20, so as to increase the overlapping range of the pull strap 20 and the non-inflatable portion of the air bag body 10. Meanwhile, the airbag body 10 can reversely fold part of the first non-inflatable region 12 to the lower part of the inflatable region 11 in the first direction D1, so that the length of the airbag body 20 is unchanged when the airbag body is installed on an A column of a frame, interference to an air outlet and an air duct can be avoided, the original length of the drawstring 20 can be maintained, and the situation that the drawstring 20 is too short after being cut to lead to unstable air bags is avoided. Of course, the predetermined distance that the second non-inflatable region 13 extends may also be determined according to the position of the airbag body 10 when disposed on the a-pillar, so as to maintain the stability provided by the pull strap 20.
In the application where the airbag 1 is assembled to a vehicle frame, the airbag 1 can be folded from a flattened state to an appropriate structural configuration, for example, folded or rolled into a folded state, depending on the installation position of the airbag, and thus can have various folded states. In the present embodiment, the folded state of the a-pillar 72 that is convenient to be mounted on the frame of the automobile is taken as an example, but not limited thereto. Thus, the use states of the airbag 1 provided in the embodiments of the present application include a first folded state 1A and a second folded state 1B, and the airbag body 10 further includes a mounting side 101, a movable side 102, a top side, and a bottom side. In which fig. 1 shows the top side of the airbag body 10, while the bottom side is provided on the other side with respect to the top side. The mounting side 101 and the movable side 102 are provided at upper and lower opposite side edges of the airbag body 10, respectively. The mounting side 101 is configured to be secured to the a-pillar 72, and the movable side 102 is configured to be folded toward the mounting side 101 and folded to one side of the mounting side 101.
In the first folded state 1A (as shown in fig. 2), a portion of the first non-inflatable region 12 located on the right side of the airbag body 10 is folded toward the first direction D1 to the bottom side of the airbag body 10, and the extension 131 of the second non-inflatable region 13 is also folded back toward the bottom side of the airbag body 10, so that the closed section 132 is maintained in a state of being exposed to the top side of the airbag body 10. As shown in fig. 1 and 2, in the first folded state 1A, the airbag body 10 is shortened from the original length L1 to the second length L2, and in the first folded state 1A, the tether 20 is not folded along with the airbag body 10, and the free end 22 thereof remains in a state of being protruded out of the airbag body 10.
As shown in fig. 3 and 4, in the second folded state 1B, the airbag body 10 is folded in the second direction D2, that is, the movable side 102 of the airbag body 10 is folded in the second direction D2 from bottom to top toward the mounting side 101 and is folded to one side of the mounting side 101. And in the second folded state 1B, the fixed end 21 of the pull strap 20 may be, but is not limited to being, wrapped in the airbag body 10. At this time, the free ends 22 of the pull straps are maintained in a state of being extended out of the airbag body 10 so that the airbag body 10 is fixed to the a-pillars 72, respectively. It will be appreciated that in other embodiments of the present application, the fixed end 21 of the pull strap 20 may be exposed to the outside of the airbag body 10 in the second folded state according to the folding direction or the installation position of the airbag 1.
After the folding and rolling of the airbag body 10 is completed, the mounting side 101 of the airbag body 10 can be secured to the a-pillar 72 of the vehicle frame by fasteners, and the free end 22 of the pull strap 20 can be pulled toward the side remote from the airbag body 10 and secured to the a-pillar 72 at a suitable distance from the airbag body 10. Therefore, the airbag 1 provided in this embodiment of the present application extends a predetermined distance in the first direction D1 by using the second non-inflatable region 13, so that the position of the fixed end 21 of the pull strap 20 is extended in the direction of the inflatable region 11, and the free end 22 is fixed on the a pillar without interfering with the arrangement of the air outlet and the air duct without changing the length of the pull strap 20, and the protection performance of the CIASI 25% small offset collision lower side air curtain on the occupant is not affected, thereby increasing the side air-curtain deployment range and effectively protecting the head of the occupant.
As can be seen from the above description, in the embodiments of the present application, by the configuration of the first non-inflatable region and the second non-inflatable region, the length of the inflatable region of the airbag can be effectively increased, so as to fill the blank region between the airbag and the side curtain on the front of the driver after the airbag is deployed, and avoid the head of the passenger from drilling into the a pillar during collision. Meanwhile, through the arrangement of the second non-inflatable region, the length of the drawstring is not required to be shortened when the inflatable region is increased. In addition, the partial reverse folding of the airbag body towards the bottom side is utilized in the folding method, the length of the airbag body during folding can be further shortened, and the stretching strap can not be folded, so that the stretching strap can be ensured to be in a normal state and in a normal position, and the problem of unstable unfolding caused by folding the stretching strap into the airbag body can be effectively avoided.
In addition, in the application, the airbag body is partially folded in the first direction, so that the length of the airbag body can be shortened, and the airbag folded after being partially folded has the advantages in that the airbag folded after being partially folded is not affected by normal deployment of the airbag folded after being partially folded, and in that the airbag folded directly is folded at the same time (for example, 20 ms) compared with the airbag folded directly without being partially folded, when the ignition comparison test is performed.
The foregoing is merely exemplary of the present application and is not intended to limit the present application. Various modifications and changes may be made to the present application by those skilled in the art. Any modifications, equivalent substitutions, improvements, etc. which are within the spirit and principles of the present application are intended to be included within the scope of the claims of the present application.
