Detailed Description
Fig. 1-3 show a plug connector 100 and a mating receptacle connector 8. The plug connector 100 includes an insulative housing 1, a resilient clip 2, and a blocking member 112. As shown in fig. 1, 3 and 5, the insulating housing 1 has an adapting plate 113 and a receiving groove 115 on the top surface of the adapting plate 113. The elastic fastener 2 includes a fixing portion 21 and a pressing portion 20 connected to the fixing portion 21. As can be seen from fig. 3, 5 and 6, the fixing portion 21 is provided on the adaptation plate 113. The pressing portion 20 is located above the fixing portion 21, and the pressing portion 20 includes a pressing end 24 suspended in the air and at least one fastening block 25 located between the fixing portion 21 and the pressing end 24. The stopper 112 is connected to the insulating housing 1 and spans over at least a portion of the pressing portion 20 of the elastic fastener 2. In other embodiments, the height of the barrier 112 is greater than or equal to the height of the elastic fastener 2 (or the pressing end 24). In addition, the blocking member 112 is also located between the pressing end 24 of the elastic fastener 2 and the button 25.
The plug connector 100 uses the blocking member 112 to provide a protection structure for the pressing portion 20, which reduces the probability of foreign objects directly touching the pressing portion 20. For example, foreign objects traveling in a direction a or B (see fig. 7) will be blocked by the blocking member 112 and will not directly collide with the pressing end 24, thereby reducing the probability of touching the pressing end 24 by mistake and reducing the probability of deformation or damage of the pressing end 24 due to collision of foreign objects. If the foreign object travels along the direction C and collides with the pressing portion 20, the pressing portion 20 may be blocked by the blocking member 112 to avoid damage due to excessive deformation (e.g., excessive upward tilting).
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, the insulating housing 1 further includes a first housing 11, a second housing 12, and a rear cover 14. The first housing 11 includes two opposite side plates 101 and 102, a top plate 103 connecting the two side plates 101 and 102, and a first cavity 110a formed by the top plate 103 and the two side plates 101 and 102 together. The adapting plate 113 has a gap with both side plates 101 and 102. Wherein the top plate 103 further has a window 111 communicating with the first cavity 110a. The adapting plate 113 is connected to the first housing 11 and is located in the first cavity 110a. The stopper 112 is connected to the top plate 103 of the first housing 11 and spans over the window 111.

As shown in fig. 3 and 4, the rear cover 14 has a channel 141, the channel 141 is located in a protrusion 142 at the rear end of the rear cover 14, and the channel 141 is lower than the pressing end 24.
The two stepped portions 116 are located on opposite sides of the receiving groove 115 of the insulating housing 1, respectively. The blocking member 112 is connected between the two steps 116. A plurality of first openings (or notches) 117 are located around a second cavity 110b of the first housing 11. A plurality of second openings (or notches) 118 are located around the second cavity 110 b.
The second housing 12 is assembled into the second cavity 110b of the first housing 11, and the second housing 12 has at least one notch 121 at a rear end thereof, and the second housing 12 further has a plurality of second protruding portions 122, and when the second housing 12 is inserted into the second cavity 110b, the second protruding portions 122 are correspondingly fixed in the corresponding second openings (or slots) 118.
A tongue plate 13 is located at the front end of the second housing 12. A cable 4 is located at the rear end of the second housing 12. The tongue 13 may be a printed circuit board having a plurality of gold fingers 131 on a surface thereof. The cable 4 has a plurality of wires electrically connected to the gold fingers 131. The second housing 12 covers the connection of the tongue 13 to the cable 4.
The rear cover 14 is assembled in the second cavity 110b and located at the rear end of the second housing 12. The rear cover 14 has the above-mentioned projection 142 and two arms 143 extending outwardly from opposite sides of the projection 142. The first protrusions 144 are located on the two arms 143, and when the rear cover 14 is inserted into the second cavity 110b, the first protrusions 144 are correspondingly fixed to the corresponding first openings (or slots) 117, and the arms 143 of the rear cover 14 are abutted against the notches 121 of the second housing 12. The channel 141 is located within the bump 142 and the channel 141 has two openings 145 located on two sides of the bump 142, respectively, which are adjacent.
As shown in fig. 3 and fig. 5 to 8, the pressing portion 20 of the elastic fastener 2 further includes at least one bending portion 221, a first inclined portion 22 and a second inclined portion 23. The bending portion 221 is connected between one end of the fixing portion 21 and one end of the pressing portion 20. The other ends of the pressing portion 20 and the fixing portion 21 extend in substantially the same direction. When the fixing portion 21 of the elastic fastener 2 is fixed in the receiving groove 115 of the insulating housing 1, at least one protruding point 119 in the receiving groove 115 catches or blocks the rear end of the fixing portion 21. At least one restriction portion 26 of the first inclined portion 22 presses against a supporting portion 119a (or the top plate 103) of the stopper 112, thereby forming a gap 119b between the first inclined portion 22 and the stopper 112. In this embodiment, the support 119a extends from the bottom of the stopper 112.
As shown in fig. 1, a peg 82 of the receptacle connector 8 has at least one hole 84. When the plug connector 100 is inserted into the receptacle connector 8, the catch piece 25 of the elastic catch piece 2 is inserted into the hole 84 of the latch 82, and the elastic catch piece 2 is locked to the latch 82 of the receptacle connector 8. When the pressing end 24 of the elastic fastener 2 is pressed by the user to move downward, the first inclined portion 22 of the elastic fastener 2 moves downward along with the pressing end 24, so that the fastening block 25 on the first inclined portion 22 is separated from the hole 84 of the latch 82, and the elastic fastener 2 is unlocked from the latch 82 of the socket connector 8.
As shown in fig. 1 to 3, the plug connector 100 further includes a pull strap 3. The draw tape 3 passes through the passage 141 of the rear cover 14. The pull strap 3 has a connecting portion 31 and a pulling portion 32, wherein the connecting portion 31 is connected to the blocking member 112 of the insulating housing 1 and located at one side of the channel 141, and the pulling portion 32 is located at the other side of the channel 141.

Therefore, when the plug connector 100 is inserted into the receptacle connector 8, the pull tape 3 is pulled in the direction D (see fig. 10), and the pressing end 24 of the push-down elastic fastener 2 of the pull tape 3 is deformed to cause unlocking.
The insulating housing 1 is formed by combining the first housing 11 and the second housing 12, but may be integrally formed.
Preferably, the elastic fastener 2 can be made of an elastic metal sheet or an elastic plastic sheet. The elastic fastener 2 can be returned from the position shown in fig. 10 to the position shown in fig. 9 by its own elasticity.
Fig. 11 to 16 show another plug connector 100a. The plug connector 100a is similar to the plug connector 100 shown in fig. 1 to 10, and the main difference is that the passage 141a of the plug connector 100a is located on the fixing portion 21a of the elastic fastener 2a, not on the rear cover 14. The fixing portion 21a extends to the rear of the pressing portion 20, and preferably, the fixing portion 21a extends beyond the insulating housing 1; the rear end passage 141a of the insulating housing 1 is behind the pressing portion 20, and preferably, the rear end passage 141a exceeds the rear end of the insulating housing 1 (i.e., is not located on either surface of the insulating housing 1). The draw tape 3 is attached to the barrier 112 and passes through the passage 141a.
