The work support apparatus of claim 8 wherein the retainer (9) includes a securing portion (91) for securing to the link or guide bar (8), a plug portion (92) for insertion into the through portion (72), and a recess (93) disposed between the plug portion (92) and the securing portion (91), the plug portion (92) having a width that decreases from one end connected to the recess (93) to the other end, the maximum width of the plug portion (92) being greater than the maximum inside width of the through portion (72), the width of the recess (93) being no greater than the maximum inside width of the through portion (72), the retainer (9) being a metal retainer (9).
10. The workpiece support apparatus as in any of claims 1 to 9 wherein the top of the carriage (7) is provided with a plurality of locating members (71) that match the shape of the workpiece.
