The washing machine as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a switching valve having at least a first communication port connected to the water outlet of the water pump, a second communication port connected to the water inlet of the water storage tank, and a third communication port connected to the water inlet of the water inlet pipe, the switching valve being capable of controlling the first communication port to communicate with the second communication port or the first communication port to communicate with the third communication port.

a disinfection device is also arranged in the water storage tank.
