Description

Cartridge for electrophotographic image forming apparatus
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a cartridge for detachable attachment to an electrophotographic image forming apparatus.
Background
Electrophotographic image forming apparatuses such as laser printers, copiers, facsimile machines, and the like generally have a process cartridge or a photosensitive drum cartridge detachably mounted; the photosensitive drum cartridge has a photosensitive drum, and the process cartridge integrates the photosensitive drum and the developing roller. A cartridge having a photosensitive drum generally includes a drive assembly connected to the photosensitive drum for receiving a rotational drive force from an electrophotographic image forming apparatus to drive the photosensitive drum to rotate.
An electrophotographic image forming apparatus of the related art has a drive shaft for outputting a rotational driving force to a drive assembly, the drive shaft having a concave portion and an abutting portion, the concave portion being located on a front side of the abutting portion in an axial direction of the drive shaft. In a process cartridge used in such an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, a drive assembly has a cylindrical coupling member and an engaging portion located inside the coupling member, the engaging portion being connected to the coupling member through an elastic deformation portion; in mounting the process cartridge to the electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the drive shaft is inserted into the coupling member, the elastically deformable portion is deformed and then restored to cause the engaging portion to engage with the recessed portion of the drive shaft, and the coupling member rotates the photosensitive drum with the rotation of the drive shaft. Such a cartridge for an electrophotographic image forming apparatus has a drawback in that, with frequent stress of the driving assembly, there is a risk of breakage of the engaging portion and the coupling member, thereby affecting stable transmission of the driving force.
In order to solve this problem, another cartridge of the prior art employs a configuration in which a swing arm is provided inside the coupling to receive the rotational driving force, the swing arm including a driving force receiving portion, an abutted portion, and a rotating shaft between the driving force receiving portion and the abutted portion; in mounting the cartridge for an electrophotographic image forming apparatus to the electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the abutted portion abuts against the abutting portion on the drive shaft, and the swing arm is correspondingly rotated about the rotary shaft, so that the driving force receiving portion is rotated to a position engaging with the recess portion on the drive shaft, whereby the rotational driving force can be received from the electrophotographic image forming apparatus. However, in the cartridge for the electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the swing arm is inconvenient to install, and there is a drawback that the assembling efficiency of the driving assembly is low.
