The portable data recording device as in claim 6, wherein said plurality of data recording interfaces includes at least one CAN communication physical interface, said CAN communication physical interface being communicatively coupled to said main control board via a CAN network data transceiver board; the CAN network data transceiver board is positioned in the shell.
