Abstract
An improved movement mechanism (M) for moving a upholstered reclining sofa (D) or an inclined part (H) of a reclining chair, said movement mechanism (M) comprising a frame for supporting an articulated extendable arm arrangement (G1, G2), said extendable arm arrangement (G1, G2) being driven by a drive means; said extendable arm means (G1, G2) supporting said inclined portion (H), said actuating means comprising a single power Cylinder (CA) fixed to and operating in a central position of said frame.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an improved motion mechanism. The invention is suitable for use on a sofa or lounge chair provided with a movable part, such as a headrest/backrest or the like, to which the following description will refer to but not be limited to a detailed example, in order to move such movable part from a closed position to an extended open position (configuration corresponding to the resting of the user's head).
Background
Generally, in order to perform the action of moving a component such as the headrest of a sofa or a reclining chair, it is generally necessary to use a mechanism system of a substantially quadrangular shape defined by a rod or an extendable arm.
These mechanisms are mounted directly on the support of the sofa or lounge and contain drive mechanisms mechanically connected to the opposite lateral ends of the rods of the mechanisms to extend or retract the rods or arms to or from the open condition. The electric actuating device is connected to the driving mechanism and used for sending instructions to the driving mechanism.
Currently, the above-mentioned driving mechanisms are constituted by pneumatic actuating cylinders, each of which is mechanically connected to the above-mentioned articulated quadrilateral mechanism and is arranged to be connected to the opposite side of said quadrilateral mechanism.
Disclosure of Invention
In order to solve the technical problems, the invention adopts a technical scheme that: an improved motion mechanism M for moving an upholstered reclining sofa D or the inclined portion H of a reclining chair, characterized in that said motion mechanism M comprises a frame for supporting hinged extendable arm means G1 and G2, said extendable arm means G1 and G2 being driven by a drive means; said extendable arm means G1 and G2 supporting said inclined portion H, said drive means comprising a single power cylinder CA fixed to and operating at a central position of said frame; the frame comprises 2 longitudinal members L1 and L2, the two longitudinal members L1 and L2 are fixedly connected with the two cross members BT1 and BT2 to form a quadrilateral structure S, and the power cylinder CA is fixedly connected and arranged between the two cross members BT1 and BT 2; said extendable arm means G1 and G2 are constituted by two sets of articulated extendable arms B1 and B2, said two sets of extendable arms B1 and B2 being arranged in parallel and parallel to said two longitudinal members L1 and L2; the anchoring and fixing point/seat of the end of the power cylinder CA is arranged in the centre of the two cross members BT1 and BT2 on the frame; the extendable arm arrangements G1 and G2 of extendable arms B1 and B2 are hidden from view by the user of the sofa D when the headrest/backrest is in the open/extended position.
Further, the extendable arms B1 and B2 are spaced apart from each other to form moving brackets J1 and J2 adapted to support the inclined portion H of the sofa D.

Further, the inclined portion H includes a headrest of the sofa D.
The main object of the present invention is to provide an improved movement mechanism which eliminates the serious problems related to the safety of the user caused by cutting, crushing and/or shearing the user's upper limbs or hands during the movement of the above-mentioned movable parts.
It is another object of the present invention to provide an improved motion mechanism that is easier to construct and assemble and that does not interfere with the aesthetic structure of the recliner sofa or lounge after installation.

Detailed Description
The advantages of the present invention, both as to its structure and its functioning, will become more apparent from the following claims, in particular the content of the description, which describes a preferred embodiment of a movement mechanism for moving the movable parts of a sofa or lounge chair, without being limited thereto, in conjunction with the detailed description of the drawings attached to the description.
Referring to fig. 1-6, M as a whole represents a kinematic mechanism for moving a component, which may be the headrest or backrest of a reclining sofa D.
The movement mechanism M is of known substantially quadrangular shape, consisting of a plurality of articulated arms, mutually set in rotation, mounted on a frame adapted to be mounted inside the sofa D.
The kinematic mechanism M comprises two longitudinal members L1 and L2, shaped substantially like a flat plate, in particular with a curved shape as shown in fig. 1-4, these two longitudinal members L1 and L2 being connected and fixed to two cross members BT1 and BT2, forming a quadrangular structure S.
Two longitudinal members L1 and L2 are mounted on two sets of extendable arm arrangements G1 and G2, respectively, made up of hingedly extendable arms B1 and B2 spaced from each other to form movable supports J1 and J2 adapted to support the reclinable head rest of the sofa D.
The anchoring and fixing point/seat of the ends of the power cylinder CA is arranged in the centre of the two cross members BT1 and BT2 on the frame.
The power cylinder CA is unique, being fixed and operating in a perfectly central position of the kinematic mechanism M, and it determines the movement of the articulated and extendible arms B1 and B2 to bring about the movement of the head rest/backrest of the sofa D, i.e. from a closed position (fig. 1 and 2) to an extended open position (fig. 3 and 4), with a corresponding movement of the head of the user when he uses it.
Thus, when the headrest/backrest is in the open/extended position, the extendable arm arrangements G1 and G2 formed by the extendable arms B1 and B2 are hidden from the view of the user of the sofa D, avoiding inadvertent injury of the user's hands between the extendable arms B1 and B2, thus ensuring the safety of the user, and not affecting the aesthetic structure of the sofa D.
Indeed, the advantage of the present invention over other more conventional mechanisms for moving movable parts (e.g., head rest, foot rest) is that there are no visible external parts, only a small 20/25mm hole in the top of the back of the upholstered sofa.
Claims (4)
1. An improved kinematic mechanism (M) for moving an upholstered reclining sofa (D) or the inclined part (H) of a reclining chair, characterized in that it comprises a frame for supporting hinged extendable arm means (G1, G2), said extendable arm means (G1, G2) being driven by driving means; said extendable arm means (G1, G2) supporting said inclined portion (H), said drive means comprising a single power Cylinder (CA) fixed and operating in a central position of said frame;
the frame comprises 2 longitudinal members (L1, L2), the two longitudinal members (L1, L2) are fixedly connected with two cross members (BT1, BT2) to form a quadrilateral structure (S), and the power Cylinder (CA) is connected and arranged between the two cross members (BT1, BT 2);
said extendable arm means (G1, G2) are constituted by two sets of articulated extendable arms (B1, B2), said two sets of extendable arms (B1, B2) being arranged in parallel and in parallel with said two longitudinal members (L1, L2);
the anchoring and fixing point/seat of the power Cylinder (CA) end is arranged in the central position of two cross members (BT1, BT2) on the frame; the extendable arm arrangement (G1, G2) of extendable arms (B1, B2) is hidden from view by the user of the sofa (D) when the headrest/backrest is in the open/extended position.
2. Movement mechanism according to claim 1, characterized in that the extendible arms (B1, B2) are arranged at a mutual distance to form a mobile carriage (J1, J2) adapted to support the inclined portion (H) of the sofa (D).
3. A movement mechanism according to any of claims 1-2, characterized in that the 2 longitudinal members (L1, L2) have a curved shape.
4. Movement mechanism according to any one of claims 1-2, characterized in that the slope (H) contains the headrest of the sofa (D).
