Description
The application is as follows: 2020/3/12, application No.: 2020202999285, title of invention: a child carrying device.
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a child carrier device for carrying a child by a user on the shoulder of the user. More particularly, the present invention relates to a carrier with a folding support frame connected with a length-adjustable waist belt, which is capable of transferring and releasing a substantial part of the weight of a child to be carried to the hip or waist of the user, and which carrier is designed to accommodate different trunk lengths of the user.
Background
Child carriers have been developed in which a child is placed on the user's shoulders using a frame that is of a similar construction to be strapped to the user's back, but these prior carriers often have drawbacks and do not provide optimal results. The applicant has herein recognized the need for improvements in the following areas by means of a preferred child carrier:
(1) since sitting a child on the user's shoulders can carry a significant amount of weight and place a significant amount of stress on the user's shoulders, it would be beneficial if the load bearing device could distribute and transfer the weight of the partially loaded child to the user's hips or waist.
(2) Different users may have different heights and torso lengths, and it is crucial that such a carrying device is designed to be able to accommodate different heights and torso lengths.
(3) The user may frequently stop, carry and release the child, and such a carrying device should ideally be easy to carry and easy to store.
(4) The user may want to carry extra weight and the optimal carrying device should be configured to easily accommodate the extra load.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention relates to a child carrier for carrying a child on a user's shoulder. More specifically, the present invention seeks to address the above mentioned deficiencies of existing child carrying devices.
In one aspect, a child-carrying carrier includes a folding support frame adapted to provide a means of supporting the entire carrier, a child seat support for securely holding a child, a user's back strap with a load-lifting mechanism for comfortably securing the carrier to the user's shoulder and torso, and a user's hip belt secured around the user's hip or waist and capable of providing an optional adjacent position, the support frame resting or attached to the lower end of the user's hip belt to receive and transfer a substantial portion of the carried weight to the user's hip or waist.
In one aspect, the folding support frame includes an upper portion and a lower portion connected by a folding mechanism that allows the upper portion of the support frame to extend away from the lower portion into an unfolded state of the carrier and allows the upper portion to fold toward the rear to meet the lower portion in a folded state of the carrier. This allows the carrier to be converted between an unfolded state and a folded state, which makes the carrier portable, easy to store and space-saving when not in use. Further, in some embodiments, the length of the lower portion of the support frame may be extended to further accommodate users of different torso lengths. For example, the extensions may be connected or screwed to the ends of the support frame, thereby extending the length of the support frame, and thus accommodating users with longer torso lengths.
In one aspect, a child seat support includes a child back pad for supporting a back of a child, a child seat pad for seating the child, and a length adjustable child harness for securing the child in the child seat support. The child back cushion can be connected to the upper portion of the support frame by removably closing the upper portion of the support frame, thereby allowing a portion of the child's weight to be transferred to the support frame. The child seat cushion may be affixed to the child back cushion, and the left and right side extensions of the child seat cushion may be configured to rest on top of and be connected to a pair of user shoulder straps. This spatial arrangement can allow a child to sit securely on the user's shoulders and transfer a portion of the child's weight to the user's shoulders and support frame. In certain embodiments, the child seat support may include additional safety belts to provide additional safety. In another embodiment, the child seat support comprises a portable and collapsible sunshade removably attached to the child's back cushion and adapted to extend over the child's head.
In one aspect, a user back harness includes a user back pad affixed to a pair of user shoulder straps for securing a load carrier to a user's shoulders and torso, a pair of child leg restraints, a user chest strap, and a load lifting mechanism adapted to removably secure the user back harness to a lower portion of a support frame underlying a child seat support. The user back cushion and the pair of user shoulder straps may be filled with a breathable material or fabric to provide the user with optimal comfort and ventilation when using the carrying device. The pair of user shoulder straps may include a pair of child restraint legs adapted to securely restrain the legs of the child in front of the shoulders of the user and to securely secure the child to the child seat support. The user chest strap may be connected to a pair of user shoulder straps and adapted to extend over the user's chest by an adjustable length to limit lateral movement of the pair of user shoulder straps.
In one aspect, the child seat cushion is configured to rest on top of the user's back harness, and the left and right side extensions of the child seat support can be configured to rest on top of and connect with the pair of user shoulder straps. This spatial arrangement between the child seat support and the user's back harness limits and restrains the legs of the child to the front of the user's shoulders, providing additional safety when the child is secured in the seat.
In one aspect, a load lifting mechanism is provided that is securely connected to the support frame for removably securing a user's back strap of a carrier to the support frame of the carrier. In some embodiments, the load lifting mechanism includes left and right members that are securely affixed to the support frame. When a user uses the device to carry a child, the child exerts a downward force of gravity on the carrying device, with one portion being transferred directly onto the shoulder of the carrying device and another portion being applied to the support frame. The downward gravitational force component exerted on the support frame may be divided into two force components. A force component moves down the support frame, balancing the force exerted on the support frame by the user's belt. The other force component is directed toward the back and counterbalances the application of a pulling force on the user's back strap by the load-lifting mechanism. The load-lifting mechanism further comprises a locking mechanism such that during a locked state the user's back harness is securely, securely fastened or hooked to the load-lifting mechanism, such as a strap, and during its unlocked state the user's back harness is detachable from the load-lifting mechanism. The load lifting mechanism is configured in such a way that it can be used as a connection point for connecting additional weight to the support frame by means of a connection mechanism, such as a self-locking hook.
In one aspect, a user belt is provided for receiving and transferring a substantial portion of the load-bearing weight from the support frame to the user's hips or waist. The waist belt may include an attachment mechanism affixed to the rear side of the waist belt for providing an adjacent position on which the lower end of the support frame may rest, and a safety strap affixed to the waist belt for tightening the waist belt about the user's hips or waist at an adjustable length. In particular, the attachment mechanism may include a plurality of slots, open slots, or other similar attachment means that are vertically spaced on the belt to allow the user to selectively select adjacent positions to accommodate users of different torso lengths.

In some embodiments, user chest strap 516 includes a left chest member 518 and a right chest member 520, each connected at one end to their respective shoulder straps and releasably connected to each other at the other end. In some embodiments, the pair of user shoulder straps 504 are filled with a breathable material or fabric to provide the user with optimal comfort and ventilation when using the carrying device.
As better shown in fig. 7, when the user uses the carrier to carry a child, the child applies a downward force of gravity to the carrier, with a portion of the force of gravity being transferred directly onto the shoulder of the carrier and another portion being applied to the support frame. The downward gravitational force applied to the portion of the support frame may be divided into two force components. A force component moves down the support frame, counterbalancing the application of force to the support frame by the user's belt.
The load-lifting mechanism includes a locking mechanism such that in its locked state, user back harness 500 is securely and securely fastened or hooked over load-lifting mechanism 506, and the locking mechanism is configured to prevent user back harness 500 from inadvertently falling out of the support frame (not shown). In its locked state, user back harness 500 may be detached from load lifting mechanism 506 and thus removed from the support frame. In one embodiment, the locking mechanism may be a horizontally disposed "J" shaped structure, the interior space of the tip of the "J" shape being so small that the webbing of the user's back strap cannot be removed once hooked without the user intentionally detaching the strap from the locking mechanism. In another embodiment, the locking mechanism may be a loop-shaped self-locking hook, with the opening facing in the opposite direction of the pulling force, so that the strap of the user's back harness, once hooked and hooked into the load-lifting mechanism, cannot be removed without the user intentionally detaching the strap from the locking mechanism. The load lifting mechanism may be configured in such a way that it may be used as a connection point for connecting additional weight to the support frame via a connection mechanism, such as a self-locking hook.
The user's back harness is secured to a support frame below the child seat support. The child seat cushion rests on top of a pair of user shoulder straps. Left and right side extensions of the child seat cushion are located atop the respective shoulder straps and are removably connected thereto. The spatial relationship between the child seat support and the user's back harness limits and restrains the legs of the child in front of the user's shoulders, providing additional safety when the child is seated on the carrier.

As better shown in fig. 6, the user belt 600 of the example child carrier device (e.g., the user belt 106 of fig. 1) is secured around the user's hips or waist at an adjustable length for providing an adjacent location 614 at which the lower end of the support frame rests on or is connected to and for receiving and transferring a substantial portion of the carrier weight from the support frame to the user's hips or waist. The user waist belt 600 includes straps 602 for securing around the user's hips or waist at an adjustable length, a connection mechanism 604 for providing an adjacent position at which the lower end of the support frame rests on or is connected to, and a safety belt 606 for tightening and adjusting the length of the straps around the user's hips.
The attachment mechanism 604 includes a left member 608 and a right member 610 that are affixed to the rear side of the belt and are adapted to provide an adjacent position 614 at which the lower end of the support frame rests on or is attached to it. The adjacent position at which the lower end of the support frame rests or is connected thereto may be selectively adjusted to accommodate users of different torso lengths.
In one embodiment, the left and right members of the connection mechanism each include a plurality of slots or open slits vertically aligned and affixed to the rear side of the belt, and a user of the user carrier can selectively insert the lower end of the support frame into any one of the plurality of slots or open slits to adjust the distance or length of the support frame relative to the length of the user's torso. For example, the left and right members of the attachment mechanism may each include three or more slots or open slits vertically aligned and affixed to the strap, one slot or open slit affixed to the upper end of the strap, one slot or open slit vertically aligned and affixed to the lower end of the strap, and another slot or open slit vertically aligned and affixed therebetween; a user of the user carrier may selectively insert the lower end of the support frame into the upper slot or open slot to create a shorter distance or length of the support frame that accommodates the user's torso length to accommodate the user's relatively shorter torso length; optionally, the user carrying the device may selectively insert the lower end of the support frame into the lower slot or open slot to create a longer distance or length of the support frame that accommodates the user's torso length to accommodate the user's relatively longer torso length.
In another embodiment, the left and right members of the connection mechanism may each include a position-adjustment slot or open slot into which the lower end of the support frame is inserted so as to rest or connect thereto, with a precise insertion point and adjacent position adjustability. For example, the left and right members of the connection mechanism may include vertical open slits with zipper locking mechanisms affixed to the strap, and the user may adjust the extent of the opening with zipper locking mechanisms to adjust the adjacent position at which the lower end of the support frame is inserted so as to rest on or be connected to it. The adjacent position is tailored to produce a shorter distance or length of the support frame corresponding to the torso length of the user at an upper portion of the band to accommodate a shorter torso length of the user, and alternatively, the adjacent position is tailored to produce a longer distance or length of the support frame corresponding to the torso length of the user at a lower portion of the band to accommodate a longer torso length of the user.
In some embodiments, the left and right members of the connection mechanism may comprise length-adjustable extension screws, and the lower end of the support frame may be screwed to and connected to the waist belt. In another embodiment, the support frame may be configured to extend in length, as discussed above. The extension may extend the support frame which may be configured to further accommodate users with longer torso lengths.
Fig. 7 shows an example of a user carrying a child using the child carrying device. The child seat support 104 cradles a child carried thereby and is removably secured to the top of the support frame 102. A load-bearing back strap 106 ties the device to the shoulder or torso of the carrier, and the load-bearing waist belt 108 is secured around the hip or waist of the carrier, with the lower end of the support frame attached and resting thereon. When the device is in use with a seated child, the child sits back on the child seat support and tilts towards the support frame, applying a diagonal downward force. Existing load bearing devices are configured to transfer the weight of a load bearing child to the shoulder, torso, and hip or waist of the load bearing person, as discussed further in the embodiments below.
Figure 8 shows the child-carrying device in the unfolded and folded states with an additional load in the form of a backpack connected to the device. In the deployed state of the device, the upper portion 202 extends away from the lower portion 204 of the support frame. In the folded state of the device, the upper portion 202 pivots at the folding mechanism and folds towards the lower portion 204 of the support frame.
Fig. 9 further shows an embodiment of a child-carrying device 100, which is the device of fig. 1 in a deployed state with an additional load in the form of a backpack connected to the device. Fig. 10a shows a rear view of an example of the child-carrying device 100 of fig. 1 in a deployed state of the device. Fig. 10b shows an additional load in the form of a backpack that can be connected to the child-carrying device 100 of fig. 1. Fig. 11 shows a side view of the child carrier 100 of fig. 1 in the folded state of the device, without any additional load connections. Fig. 12 shows a side view of the child carrier 100 of fig. 1 in the device folded state with an additional load in the form of a backpack connected to the carrier.
