In the description of the embodiments of the present invention, the terms "first", "second", and the like are used for descriptive purposes only and are not to be construed as indicating or implying relative importance or implying any number of technical features indicated. Unless expressly stated or limited otherwise, the terms "connected," "coupled," and "coupled" are intended to be inclusive and mean, for example, that a connection may be fixed or removable or integral; can be mechanically or electrically connected; either directly or indirectly through intervening media, either internally or in any other relationship. The specific meanings of the above terms in the present invention can be understood by those skilled in the art according to specific situations.
Fig. 1 shows one embodiment of a fixing portion (also referred to as "main body 10") of a downlight according to the present invention. The fixing part comprises a clamping ring 11 for fastening into a mounting location, such as a reserved hole in a ceiling, the clamping ring 11 covering the edge of the hole and ensuring a clean ceiling appearance. On the back (inside) of the ceiling, the fixing portion includes two spring clips 13 for holding the main body 10 to the ceiling. The body is provided with an opening 17 in the middle to accommodate a replacement component such as that shown in figures 3 and 4. Two door lock switches 15 are fixedly arranged on the inner walls of the two sides of the opening 17.
Referring to fig. 2, a structure of a door lock switch 15 is shown. Which includes a lock body 14, a spring 12 disposed within the lock body 14, a pair of jaws 16, and an interlocking linkage (only partially visible in the figures). The interlock link has a contact 18 which is interlocked with the pawls 16 when the contact 18 is pressed, that is, when the pair of pawls 16 are in the open state, the contact 18 is pressed, and the pair of pawls 16 are closed and locked; when the pair of claws 16 are in the closed state, the contact 18 is pressed, releasing and expanding the pair of claws 16.
Accordingly, on a replacement assembly 20 such as that shown in fig. 3 and 4, barbs 25 are provided, the barbs 25 being used to press on the aforementioned contacts, to actuate the respective pawl 16, to lock or release the barbs 25.
The alternate assembly 20 shown in fig. 3 is a reflector 21, and the alternate assembly 20 shown in fig. 4 includes a light source, driver and reflector (collectively "light engine 23"). The replacement assembly can be used as long as the size and position of the barb are matched with the door lock switch of the down lamp main body 10, and has strong compatibility.
Fig. 5 shows a downlight fitted with the reflector 21 of fig. 3, the dotted double-headed arrow indicating: the replacement assembly 20 can be attached or detached by pressing the front end face of the replacement assembly 20 without disassembling the entire downlight.
Fig. 6 shows a downlight fitted with the light engine 23 of fig. 4. The meaning of the double-headed arrows in the figure is the same as that of fig. 5.
For the "light engine 23" embodiment of fig. 4, 6, it is very advantageous that the mechanical coupling structures (door lock switch 15, barbs 25) simultaneously make electrical connection. Specifically, the claw 16 and the barb 25 of the door lock switch 15 are made of conductive material, and a power supply is connected thereto, so that when the claw and the barb are brought into contact, an electrical connection is simultaneously made to supply power to the light engine 23. For safety reasons, the power supply may use a safe voltage, for example a direct current of less than 48 volts. When mains electricity is used, the conductive material may be shielded with the necessary insulating shielding material for use in a manner similar to a plug/socket.
Although the present invention is illustrated as an example of the two-pair door lock switch 15/barb 25 coupling, the present invention is not limited to this. A pair of door lock switch 15/barb 25 couplings also achieve the object of the invention when the replacement assembly 20 is sufficiently light. When the replacement assembly 20 to be used is heavy, the weight can be fully shared by three or more pairs of door lock switches 15/barbs 25. As long as each door lock switch/barb pair is uniformly distributed on the inner wall of the opening 17/the outer wall of the replacement component 20 in one-to-one correspondence, the installation and the disassembly are not affected. Additionally, foolproof designs may be added, such as intentionally non-uniformly arranging the door lock switch/barb pairs so that replacement assembly 20 can only be installed into opening 17 in one particular orientation. This is particularly advantageous for embodiments that require both a mechanical coupling and an electrical connection, which may avoid a polarity error in the power supply access.
While some specific embodiments of the present invention have been shown in detail by way of example, it should be understood by those skilled in the art that the foregoing examples are intended to be illustrative only and are not limiting upon the scope of the invention. It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that the above-described embodiments may be modified without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention. The scope of the invention is defined by the appended claims. In the specification and the claims which follow, unless the context requires otherwise, the terms "comprise" and "comprise" are to be construed as embracing the stated elements or groups of elements but not excluding any other elements or groups of elements. The reference to any prior art in this specification is not, and should not be taken as, an acknowledgment or any form of suggestion that such prior art forms part of the common general knowledge.
