When the detecting head 1 is in an air state, the emitter 9 emits an infrared light pulse signal with a certain duty ratio, when the infrared light pulse signal vertically passes through a glass probe in the air, the light is totally reflected, at the moment, the receiver 10 can sense the light signal, and the signal according with the duty ratio is calculated, so that the signal output of the probe in the air state is controlled. Thus, false alarm caused by external light interference can be avoided. When the probe head 1 is soaked in liquid, infrared light is refracted when passing through the probe head, the receiver 10 cannot sense an infrared light signal, and a state signal when the probe head 1 is soaked in the liquid is output.
