Description

Removable seat cover
Technical Field
The invention relates to a removable seat cover with a ventilation function for a vehicle seat, a support cushion that can be arranged in front of a vehicle seat backrest, a fastening device that is suitable for fastening the seat cover, and a plurality of air distribution channels on the vehicle seat, which are arranged on the support cushion and have outlets from which air can flow out and at least one peripheral device.
Background
Long-term driving may stress the occupants of the vehicle, particularly the driver. Fatigue may result from prolonged attention, a constant sitting posture, insufficient air circulation between the back of the occupant and the backrest of the vehicle seat, and perspiration of the back and buttocks of the occupant.
These stresses can affect, among other things, the drivability of professional drivers. These stresses are particularly problematic in warm and humid weather conditions. Conversely, if no one is using the car seat, the car seat may become very cold in cold weather conditions.
These stresses not only cause discomfort to the driver, but also endanger the safety of the driver and other road users if signs of fatigue negatively affect the performance of the driver.
One way to relieve the driver's stress is to use a car seat with ventilation. Expensive automobiles are generally provided with an automobile seat having a ventilation function.
A ventilated seat cover is a cheaper option. Such seat covers may also be flexibly used in other environments, for example for relaxation on an office chair at work or at home. The seat cover is fixed on the seat by a belt, a belt (rubber) or other fixing devices.
Document WO 00/18606 provides a seat cover with a ventilation function. Air enters the channel, also located in the center of the seat or backrest, through a central air duct mounted at the backrest/seat connection. There, the air enters the surroundings upwards, downwards and into the sides of the car seat. This seat cover has no air supply. Air must enter the seat cover by connecting to an external air supply hose. Further, even if the seat cushion is not used, the passenger feels the seat cushion, which may reduce the comfort of the passenger.
FR 3036932 a1 shows a car seat with ventilation, in which air is conducted in parallel channels (in the seat) and in vertical channels (in the backrest). The air supply device is integrated in the vehicle seat and the air flow is regulated by an iris. Such a car seat is relatively complex to manufacture and does not provide the flexibility of a seat cover with a ventilation function.
A disadvantage of the seat cover with ventilation according to the prior art is that the additional components for controlling and operating the ventilation take up space in the seat cover itself or in the vehicle interior and may increase the risk of injury to the occupant in the event of an accident. In the event of an accident, the side airbag mounted on the vehicle seat may be shielded and not properly deployed. Furthermore, peripheral devices such as pumps, controllers, valves or power supplies cannot be securely housed in known seat cushions. Therefore, the occupant may be injured by the flying member.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a seat cover with a ventilation function, which can be used in particular when driving a motor vehicle, is hardly or not at all perceptible to the occupant when not in use, and has no or hardly any additional components, or is dimensioned in such a way that the use of the seat cover does not increase the risk of accidents for the occupant.
Disclosure of Invention
This object is achieved by a removable seat cover with a ventilation function, which rests on a car seat.
The removable seat cover according to the invention has a ventilation function with a support pad that can be arranged in front of the backrest of the vehicle seat. Furthermore, the removable seat cover has a fastening device with which the removable seat cover can be fastened to the vehicle seat.
A plurality of channels for distributing air are disposed on the support pad. These channels have outlets from which air flows to the environment when the seat cover is in operation. Furthermore, the support cushion according to the invention has a receiving device for receiving at least one peripheral device.
According to the invention, the receiving means can be positioned and in particular fixed apart at a spatial distance from the support pad. Preferably, the receiving device is fixed to the back of the backrest of the vehicle seat. The peripheral devices include the equipment required to operate the seat cover. This arrangement makes it possible to secure the peripheral device while the vehicle is running, and thus to reduce the risk of injury to the occupant, particularly due to a rear-end collision.
In another aspect of the invention, the peripheral device has an electrically powered air pump, one or more valves, a control unit, an operating unit and/or a power source. The control unit is usually a microcomputer with operating elements, which has a corresponding program for controlling the ventilation process. By using the control unit, the occupant can start ventilation, regulate flow and end the ventilation function. The power supply is designed to be operable through the electrical system of the vehicle.
In an advantageous development of the invention, the energy supply device has a power supply interface and/or a rechargeable battery. In order to operate the seat cover according to the invention in a motor vehicle, the seat cover according to the invention can be operated via the vehicle electrical system. Energy supply by means of, for example, a socket (cigarette lighter), a USB connection or the like is conceivable. In addition, the seat cover may be separately operated using a rechargeable accumulator (battery). In order to use the seat cover outside the vehicle, a current transformer (e.g. a transformer with an AC/DC converter) may be inserted between the seat cover and the socket.
In another embodiment of the invention, the fastening device has a strap. The straps are designed to be adjustable so that they can accommodate different sizes of different car seats. As a result, the seat cover according to the present invention can be used not only for automobiles but also, for example, on office chairs in office places and at home. Simultaneously, the firm connection of seat cover and car seat has been guaranteed. The seat cover cannot accidentally fall off or slide off.
In another embodiment of the invention, the strap is adapted to encircle a backrest of a car seat, preferably in a lower region of the seat cushion. This ensures a secure connection between the support pad and the car seat; the seat cover cannot accidentally fall off or slide off.
In another aspect of the invention, the receiving device has a pocket. The pocket may be reclosed with, for example, a zipper. Thus, the peripheral device is easily accessible for maintenance and can be easily replaced or repaired.
In another embodiment of the invention, the pocket has a sound absorbing element. The sound-absorbing element consists of, for example, foam and reduces the noise from the peripheral device. In addition, by using such soft insulating materials, the risk of injury to other occupants in the automobile is reduced.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the receiving device is arranged on the seat cover. The receiving means (power supply with battery, pump, control unit, valves and control unit) with the components for operating the seat cover constitute a structural unit with the seat cover, which can be operated without further components. Thus, the seat cover according to the invention can be transported and used, for example, from a car to a workplace and vice versa, even in the corresponding weather.
In another embodiment of the invention, the receiving means is fixedly connected to the seat cover. The receiving device (power supply with battery, pump, control unit, valve, control unit) with the components for operating the seat cover forms a structural unit with the seat cover. No other components are required to operate the seat cover. Thus, the seat cover according to the invention can be transported and used, for example, from a car to a workplace and vice versa, even in the corresponding weather.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the fastening device has a cover which can be arranged on the back of the backrest of the vehicle seat. The cover is located on top of the support pad. The cover is connected to the support pad. The cover is designed to be adjustable so that it can be adapted to different sizes of different car seats by means of, for example, velcro. As a result, the seat cover according to the present invention can be used not only for automobiles but also for office chairs such as office places and at home.
In another aspect of the invention, the cover has an opening for a headrest of a vehicle seat. The seat cover according to the invention is arranged through the headrest through said opening, so that the headrest is not covered by said seat cover. Thus, the occupant can adjust the headrest at any time, and any existing safety functions (e.g., a crash headrest) remain fully functional.
In another embodiment of the invention, the cover has a securing means connecting the cover to the support pad. The fastening device of the cover can be arranged on the side of the backrest of the vehicle seat. The cover is connected to the support pad by the fixing means. At the same time, these fastening means connect the cover to the side of the backrest of the vehicle seat. The fastening means of the cover are designed to be adjustable so that they can be adapted to different sizes of different car seats, for example by means of velcro. At the same time, the fixing means are dimensioned such that the side airbag maintains a completely normal function in the event of an accident.
In another embodiment of the invention, the receiving means is arranged on a cover of the seat cover. As a result, the receiving device is arranged at the rear of the backrest of the vehicle seat. This arrangement secures the receiving means during operation of the vehicle, thereby reducing the risk of injury to the occupant, particularly as a result of a rear-end collision.
In another embodiment of the invention, the support cushion has a foam layer. Channels for air conduction are arranged in the foam layer. When not in use, the support pad hardly draws the attention of the passenger, because the support pad fits the contour of the car seat almost perfectly.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the channel extends vertically in the backrest region and extends in the cushion region of the seat cover in the direction of travel of the motor vehicle. It has been found that this design of the air passages parallel to the body of the occupant is particularly effective in cooling the back or hip region of the occupant.
In a development of the invention, a covering is arranged above the channel. The cover protects the passageway from dust and air can flow freely in the passageway. In addition, a separate color scheme may be used to color match the covering to the interior of the automobile.
In another aspect of the invention, the cover is breathable. The cooling effect of the air flowing in the channels on the body of the occupant is enhanced compared to an air-impermeable cover.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the peripheral device has a heating element. The heating element heats air flowing through the channel of the seat cover, and the occupant can select a temperature using the control unit. Thus, the seat cover according to the invention can be used not only for cooling in warm weather conditions but also for seat heating in cold weather, thus providing an inexpensive and flexible alternative to car seats with ventilation or heating functions.
In another aspect of the invention, the heating element is a PTC heating element. The use of the PTC heater has an advantage of a fast response speed. The mat can be heated in a few seconds.
An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings.
