8. The quick release mechanism of claim 7 wherein the retention clip is at least partially disposed in the first opening or the second opening when it is desired to lock the quick connect coupling to the tube.
9. The quick release mechanism of claim 1 wherein the quick connect coupling is locked to the tubular body when the retainer clip is inserted between the boss and the housing.
10. A water purification apparatus, characterized in that the water purification apparatus comprises the quick release mechanism of any one of claims 1 to 9.
