Background
In mobile communication networks there are a large number of base stations, which comprise base station antennas. SUMMERY OF THE UTILITY MODEL
The inventors of the present application have found in studies of the mounting assembly that beyond a certain load threshold the teeth of the mounting assembly may deform which may deteriorate the engagement of the teeth with the clasping rod (e.g. the teeth and clasping rod may engage punctiform rather than linearly) and that increasing the material thickness, and conversely, may make the manufacture of the mounting assembly more difficult by increasing the material thickness and thereby the thickness of the teeth, may not significantly improve the engagement of the teeth with the clasping rod. Furthermore, in some cases, the static friction of the teeth with the poles may be insufficient.
It is an object of the present disclosure to provide a mounting assembly for a base station antenna, wherein the load-bearing capacity of the mounting assembly can be increased with simple measures. It is also an object of the present disclosure to provide a mounting kit comprising two such mounting assemblies.
According to a first aspect of the invention, a mounting assembly for a base station antenna is proposed, the mounting assembly comprising a pair of clamping elements configured for embracing and engaging a pole between the pair of clamping elements, a first clamping element of the pair of clamping elements having a receiving space, and fastening means for tensioning the pair of clamping elements to each other, the mounting assembly comprising a second clamping element received in the receiving space of the first clamping element, the second clamping element being configured for, in a mounted state, being supported by the first clamping element and engaging the pole.

Detailed Description
In the following, a mounting assembly according to a first embodiment of the invention is first described with the aid of fig. 1 and 2, wherein fig. 1 is a schematic perspective view of a mounting assembly according to a first embodiment of the invention, and fig. 2 is a schematic perspective view of the mounting assembly of fig. 1 mounted on a pole, the pole 10 being described only in sections.
The mounting assembly according to the first embodiment may comprise a pair of clamping elements 1 and fastening means for tensioning the pair of clamping elements 1 to each other, the pair of clamping elements 1 being configured for clasping and engaging a clasping rod 10 between the pair of clamping elements 1. In the embodiment shown, the fastening means may comprise a pair of bolt connection means 2, said pair of bolt connection means 2 being configured for connecting and tensioning said pair of clamping elements 1 to each other on both sides of the pole 10. A first clamping element of the pair of clamping elements 1 may be configured as a first U-shaped part which is open towards the other clamping element of the pair and has a receiving space defined by a U-shape. The further clamping element can be of the same or different design as the first clamping element.
The mounting assembly may further comprise a second clamping member 3, which is received in the receiving space of the first clamping member. The second clamping element 3 is designed to be pressed against the pole 10 in the mounted state and is supported by the first clamping element. The second clamping element 3 can be configured as a second U-shaped part which opens toward the other clamping element.
The two legs of the first clamping element may each have a concave, arcuate first engagement portion 6 for engagement with a pole 10. The first engagement portion 6 may have a first tooth portion. The two legs of the second clamping element 3 may each have a concave, curved second engagement portion 9 for engagement with a pole 10 (see fig. 5). The second engagement portion 9 may have a second tooth portion. The first joint 6 and the second joint 9 can be of identical or different design. Similarly, the first and second tooth sections may be of identical or different design.
The first clamping element may have a pair of guide holes for being passed through by the bolts of a pair of bolt connection means 2, so that the first clamping element can be guided by the bolts of the pair of bolt connection means 2. Similarly, the second clamping element 3 may also have a pair of guide holes, one of which the bolt of each screw connection passes through, so that the second clamping element can be guided by the bolts of the pair of screw connections 2. Each screw connection 2 may have at least one nut 4. Each screw connection 2 may additionally have a lock washer.
The second clamping member 3 may be movably mounted with respect to the first clamping member. The mounting assembly may comprise an urging mechanism which may be configured to urge the second clamping member 3 in a direction towards the other of the pair of clamping members. In a first embodiment, as shown in fig. 1 and 2, the mounting assembly may comprise, as a pushing mechanism, a pushing bolt 5, the first clamping element having an internal thread in its bottom, the pushing bolt engaging with its external thread with the internal thread. When the push bolt 5 is screwed in, the push bolt 5 pushes the second clamping element 3 on the bottom of the second clamping element 3, so that the second clamping element 3 engages with the holding pole 10. The push bolt 5 may be equipped with at least one locknut and a lockwasher in order to prevent the push bolt 5 from being unintentionally loosened after tightening the push bolt 5 with a predetermined tightening torque. The first clamping element may have a threaded bore with said internal thread. It is also possible for the first clamping element to have a welded nut in its base, which nut has the internal thread. The number of the push bolts 5 is 2 by way of example. A single push bolt or more push bolts are also possible.
In the first embodiment, the mounting assembly may additionally include a pivoting member 7. The pivoting part 7 is configured for connection with a base station antenna 20 (see fig. 4), and the pivoting part 7 is pivotably connected with the further clamping element.
In the embodiment shown, only the first clamping element is assigned the second clamping element 3. It is also possible that the pair of clamping elements 1 can each be assigned a second clamping element 3. In this case, the two second clamping elements 3 can be of identical or different design.
In mounting the mounting assembly to the holding pole 10, the pair of bolt connection devices 2 may first be tightened until a predetermined tightening torque is reached, and then the push bolt 5 will be tightened and the mounting is ended. It is also possible to first slightly tighten the pair of bolt connections 2, then to slightly tighten the push bolt 5 and finally to continue tightening the pair of bolt connections 2 until a predetermined tightening torque is reached.
Fig. 3 is a schematic perspective view of a mounting assembly according to a second embodiment of the invention. The second embodiment differs from the first embodiment mainly in that instead of the pivoting part 7 the mounting assembly additionally comprises an adjustable part 8. In other respects, the second embodiment may be the same as or similar to the first embodiment. To avoid redundancy, please refer to the description for the first embodiment. The adjustable part 8 is configured for connection with a base station antenna 20. The adjustable member 8 has an adjustable effective length. The adjustable part 8 may comprise two arms hinged to each other. The effective length of the adjustable member 8 is related to the angle between the two arms. By adjusting and locking this angle, a suitable effective length of the adjustable part 8 can be obtained.
Fig. 4 is a schematic perspective view of a base station antenna 20 mounted on a pole 10 by means of two mounting assemblies, wherein the pole 10 is depicted in partial length. One of the two mounting assemblies may be constructed in accordance with the first embodiment, which includes a pivoting member 7. The one mounting assembly is disposed below, forming a pivot point for the base station antenna 20. The other of the two mounting assemblies may be constructed in accordance with the second embodiment, which includes an adjustable member 8. By adjusting the effective length of the adjustable part 8, a suitable mechanical tilt angle of the base station antenna can be obtained.
Fig. 5 is a schematic perspective view of a mounting assembly according to a third embodiment of the invention, wherein the adjustable component 8 is only partially depicted. The third embodiment differs from the second embodiment essentially in that the second clamping element 3 is fixedly connected to the first clamping element, for example the second clamping element 3 can be welded to the first clamping element. The two legs of the first clamping element may each have a concave, arcuate first engagement portion 6 for engagement with a pole 10. The first engagement portion 6 may have a first tooth portion. The two legs of the second clamping element 3 may each have a concave, curved second engagement portion 9 for engagement with a pole 10. The second engagement portion 9 may have a second tooth portion. The first joint 6 and the second joint 9 can be of identical or different design. Similarly, the first and second tooth sections can be of identical or different design. During tensioning of a pair of bolt connection means 2, the first and second clamping elements may engage with the pole 10 simultaneously.
Fig. 6 is a partial exploded view of a mounting assembly according to a fourth embodiment of the invention, wherein the first and second clamping elements and the spring element 11 are depicted and a pair of bolt connections 2 are partially depicted. The spring element 11 can be designed as a leaf spring. The spring element 11 may have a bilateral indentation for holding and guiding the spring element 11 on the bolts of the pair of bolt connections 2. The pair of clamping elements 1 and 3 and the fastening means of the mounting assembly according to the fourth embodiment may be constructed in the same or similar way as in the previous embodiment and reference may therefore be made to the description for the previous embodiment. In the relaxed state of the spring element 11, the second engagement portion 9 of the second clamping element 3 for engagement with the pole 10 projects relative to the first engagement portion 6 of the first clamping element for engagement with the pole 10. As the tightening device is tightened, the spring element 11 can be flattened gradually until the tightening device reaches a predetermined tightening torque and the first and second clamping elements jointly engage the pole 10.
Fig. 7 is an exploded view of a portion of a mounting assembly according to a fifth embodiment of the present invention. The pair of clamping elements 1 and the second clamping element 3 and the fastening means of the mounting assembly according to the fifth embodiment may be constructed identically or similarly to the previous embodiments and reference may therefore be made to the description for the previous embodiments. In the fifth embodiment, the cam mechanism is used as an urging mechanism for urging the second clamping member toward the clasping rod with respect to the first clamping member. The cam mechanism may be mounted on the first clamping member. The cam mechanism may comprise a cam 12, a handle fixedly connected to the cam or formed integrally therewith, and a push rod 13 which can be driven by the cam. The cam 12 is rotatable about a pivot 14. When the cam 12 is rotated in a clockwise direction in fig. 7 by means of the handle, the cam 12 can push the push rod 13 and thus the push rod 13 can push the second clamping element 3 such that the second clamping element 3 engages with the holding pole 10. In the embodiment shown in fig. 7, two push rods 13 are provided. The number of push rods is exemplary.

A mounting assembly for a base station antenna, the mounting assembly comprising a pair of clamping elements (1) configured for clasping and engaging a clasping rod (10) between the pair of clamping elements, a first clamping element of the pair of clamping elements having a receiving space, and fastening means for tensioning the pair of clamping elements to each other, characterized in that the mounting assembly comprises a second clamping element (3) received in the receiving space of the first clamping element, the second clamping element being configured for being supported by the first clamping element and engaging the clasping rod in a mounted state.
2. The mounting assembly for a base station antenna of claim 1 wherein the first clamping member is configured as a first U-shaped member that is open to the other of the pair of clamping members and has a receiving space defined by a U-shape.
3. The mounting assembly for a base station antenna according to claim 2, wherein the two legs of the first clamping element each have a concave, arcuate first engagement portion (6) for engagement with a pole, the first engagement portion having a first tooth.
4. A mounting assembly for a base station antenna according to any of claims 1 to 3, wherein the second clamping member is configured as a second U-shaped member which opens towards the other of the pair of clamping members.
5. Mounting assembly for a base station antenna according to claim 4, characterized in that the two legs of the second clamping element each have a concave, arc-shaped second engagement portion (9) for engagement with a pole, the second engagement portion having a second toothing.
6. A mounting assembly for a base station antenna according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the fastening means comprises a pair of bolt attachment means (2) configured for attaching and tensioning the pair of clamping elements to each other on either side of the mast.
7. The mounting assembly for a base station antenna of claim 6, wherein the second clamping member has a pair of guide holes, one of which a bolt of each bolting means passes through, such that the second clamping member can be guided by the bolts of the pair of bolting means.
8. A mounting assembly for a base station antenna according to any of claims 1 to 3, wherein the second clamping member is movably mounted relative to the first clamping member, the mounting assembly including a pushing mechanism configured for pushing the second clamping member in a direction towards the other of the pair of clamping members.
9. Mounting assembly for a base station antenna according to claim 8, characterized in that it comprises, as a pushing mechanism, a pushing bolt (5), which first clamping element has an internal thread in its bottom part, which pushing bolt engages with its external thread with the internal thread.
10. The mounting assembly for a base station antenna of claim 9 wherein said first clamping member has a welded nut in a bottom portion thereof, said nut having said internal threads.
11. The mounting assembly for a base station antenna of claim 8, wherein the mounting assembly includes a cam mechanism as the urging mechanism.
12. A mounting assembly for a base station antenna according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the second clamping member is fixedly connected to the first clamping member.
13. The mounting assembly for a base station antenna of claim 12, wherein the second clamping member is welded to the first clamping member.

A mounting assembly for a base station antenna according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the second clamping element is supported on the first clamping element via a spring element (11), wherein in a relaxed state of the spring element a second engagement portion of the second clamping element for engagement with the clasping rod projects relative to a first engagement portion of the first clamping element for engagement with the clasping rod.
15. The mounting assembly for a base station antenna of claim 14, wherein the spring element is a leaf spring.
16. A mounting assembly for a base station antenna according to any of claims 1 to 3, wherein the other of the pair of clamping elements is configured as a U-shaped member opening towards the first clamping element.
17. A mounting assembly for a base station antenna according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the pair of clamping elements are identically constructed.
18. A mounting assembly for a base station antenna according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the mounting assembly comprises a pivot member (7) configured for connection with a base station antenna and pivotably connected with the other of the pair of clamping elements.
19. A mounting assembly for a base station antenna according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the mounting assembly comprises an adjustable part (8) configured for connection with a base station antenna and having an adjustable effective length.
20. Installation kit for a base station antenna, characterized in that it comprises two installation assemblies for a base station antenna according to any one of claims 1 to 19.
21. The mounting kit for a base station antenna according to claim 20, wherein one of the two mounting assemblies comprises a pivot member (7) configured for connection with a base station antenna and pivotally connected with the other of the pair of clamping elements of the one mounting assembly, the other of the two mounting assemblies comprising an adjustable member (8) configured for connection with a base station antenna and having an adjustable effective length.
