Description

Ink-jet printer
Technical Field
The utility model relates to a printing apparatus technical field specifically relates to an ink jet printer.
Background
An inkjet printer generally performs printing by ejecting ink from a recording unit onto a recording medium (for example, printing paper).
As shown in fig. 1, an inkjet printer 1 includes a printer body 10. Two guide rods may be provided in the printer body 10 in parallel front and back, and a carriage may be provided on the two guide rods so that the carriage can move relative to the two guide rods. A recording portion that can be replenished with ink a plurality of times is provided on the carriage, the recording portion can be reciprocated with the carriage, and the recording portion ejects ink onto a recording medium (e.g., paper) to record an image (e.g., characters, symbols, figures, etc.) on the paper.
A paper supply device for driving the paper to move in the first direction D1 is also typically provided in the printer body 10. The paper may be supported by a support member provided in the printer body 10. And the recording part may reciprocate with the carriage in a second direction D2 perpendicular to the first direction D1.
On the other hand, the recording section may include a black-and-white recording section 6 containing black ink, and normally, the ink jet printer 1 may be used as a black-and-white printer when ink is supplied to the black-and-white recording section 6 through a black ink tank for containing black ink provided in the printer body 10 via a pipe. Normally, the black-and-white recording section 6 is provided with electrical contacts, and the carriage is correspondingly provided with first electrical contacts matching the electrical contacts of the black-and-white recording section 6. When the black-and-white recording section 6 is attached to the carriage, the electrical contact of the black-and-white recording section 6 matches the first electrical contact, and therefore, the control module of the inkjet printer 1 recognizes that the black-and-white recording section 6 is attached to the carriage and can be used normally.
On the other hand, the recording portion may include a color recording portion containing color ink, and the color recording portion may eject ink of three colors, for example, cyan, magenta, and yellow. When the monochrome recording section 6 and the color recording section are mounted on the carriage at the same time, the ink jet printer 1 can be used as a color printer capable of recording a color image by ejecting the three colors and black ink. The color recording portion is usually provided with an electrical contact, and the carriage is correspondingly provided with a second electrical contact which can be matched with the electrical contact of the color recording portion, when the color recording portion is mounted on the carriage, the electrical contact of the color recording portion is matched with the second electrical contact, so that the control module of the ink-jet printer 1 can recognize that the color recording portion is mounted on the carriage and can be normally used.
When the above-described ink jet printer 1 is used as a monochrome printer, the monochrome recording portion 6 is attached to the carriage, and the color recording portion is not attached to the carriage. Therefore, the second electrical contact on the bracket is exposed, which may cause the second electrical contact to be corroded by the influence of foreign matter, ink mist, due to long-term exposure. Therefore, a protective member is usually provided to protect the second electrical contact.
However, the end of the conventional protective member facing the support member is usually formed as a space surrounded by an annular rib, and the nozzle surface of the black-and-white recording section 6 for ejecting ink is usually arranged on the same plane as the end of the protective member facing the support member.
That is, the shortest distance of the black-and-white recording section 6 to the supporting member in the third direction D3 perpendicular to the first direction D1 and the second direction D2 is equal to the shortest distance of the color recording section to the supporting member in the third direction. Therefore, when the carriage reciprocates to move the black-and-white recording section 6 and the protective member together, the paper on which the ink is sprayed may be bent, and the rib at the end of the protective member opposite to the supporting member may easily scrape the recording paper which is easily bent, thereby causing a jam; further, the nozzle surface of the black-and-white recording unit 6 for ejecting ink is also easily scratched and damaged by the flexible recording paper.
Therefore, there is a need for an inkjet printer that at least partially solves the above problems.

In the following description, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a more thorough understanding of the present invention. It will be apparent, however, to one skilled in the art, that embodiments of the invention may be practiced without one or more of these specific details. In other instances, well-known features have not been described in order to avoid obscuring embodiments of the present invention.
Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. It is to be understood that the terms "upper", "lower", and the like are used herein for purposes of illustration only and are not to be construed as limiting.
Ordinal words such as "first" and "second" are referred to herein merely as labels, and do not have any other meaning, e.g., a particular order, etc. Also, for example, the term "first component" does not itself imply the presence of "second component", and the term "second component" does not itself imply the presence of "first component".
An ink jet printer according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below. Ink jet printer in addition to having the printing function, can also have various functions such as image scanner function, facsimile function, copying function. As for the printing function, a double-sided image recording function of recording images on both sides of the recording medium may be provided. Of course, the function other than the printing function is arbitrary.
First embodiment
As shown in fig. 1, the inkjet printer 100 includes a printer body 101. The printer body 101 is substantially rectangular parallelepiped in shape.
An operation panel (not shown in the figure) may be provided on the upper surface of the printer body 101, and a display part for displaying various information and setting contents and operation keys for performing various operations or inputting the setting contents are arranged on the operation panel. In some embodiments, the display unit may not be provided, and only some of the operation keys may be provided, and these operation keys may be provided at appropriate positions of the printer body 101.
The printer body 101 is also provided with a paper feed cassette for supplying a recording medium (e.g., paper) and a paper discharge cassette for discharging the recording medium. A paper supply device is also typically provided in the printer body 101.
In the present embodiment, a sheet supply device (not shown in the figure) may be provided for moving the sheet in the first direction D1 shown in fig. 1. The sheet moving in the first direction D1 may be supported by a support member 103 provided in the printer body.
Two guide rods (not shown) may be disposed in the printer body 101 in parallel front and back. A carriage 108 is provided on both guide rods, the carriage 108 being movable relative to both guide rods. In the present embodiment, the carriage 108 is provided to be reciprocally movable in the second direction D2 perpendicular to the first direction D1.
With continued reference to fig. 2, a recording portion 106 that can be replenished with ink a plurality of times is provided on the carriage 108. The recording portion 106 can reciprocate with the carriage 108, and the recording portion 106 ejects ink to a recording medium (paper) to record an image (e.g., characters, symbols, figures, etc.) on the paper.
Specifically, the inkjet printer 100 of the present invention includes an electrical contact protection member 105. The recording section 106 includes a first recording member 104. As shown in fig. 2 and 3, since the carriage 108 is provided with the first electrical contact 181 and the second electrical contact 182, and the first electrical contact 181 is used for making electrical contact with the first recording member 104, when the first recording member 104 contains black ink, the ink jet printer 100 can be used as a black-and-white printer, and at this time, the second electrical contact 182 is exposed, and in order to prevent the second electrical contact 182 from being corroded due to the influence of foreign substances and ink mist due to the long-term exposure, the electrical contact protection member 105 is provided. The electrical contact protection member 105 is provided to be mounted to the carriage 108 and to contact the second electrical contact 182, and is configured to be reciprocally movable with the carriage 108.
Note that, in the case where the first recording part 104 contains black ink, the ink jet printer 100 can perform a black-and-white printing function only if both the first recording part 104 and the electrical contact protection part 105 have been successfully attached to the carriage 108. The first recording member 104 for ejecting black ink is normally supplied with ink from a black ink tank for containing black ink provided in the printer body 101 through a conduit to the first recording member 104.
Specifically, the first recording part 104 is provided thereon with an electrical contact that matches the first electrical contact 181, and in a state in which the first recording part 104 is mounted to the carriage 108, the control module of the inkjet printer 100 can recognize the state of the first electrical contact 181 and perform an operation such as printing in accordance with the state.
Similarly, the electrical contact protection member 105 is provided with an electrical contact that matches the second electrical contact 182, and in a state where the electrical contact protection member 105 is mounted to the carriage 108, the control module of the inkjet printer 100 can recognize the state of the second electrical contact 182 and perform an operation such as printing according to the state.
Referring next to fig. 4, it can be seen from fig. 4 that the shortest distance L1 of the electrical contact protection component 105 mounted to the carriage 108 to the support component 103 in the third direction D3 is smaller than the shortest distance L2 of the first recording component 104 mounted to the carriage 108 to said support component 103 in the third direction D3. Wherein the third direction D3 is perpendicular to the first direction D1 and the second direction D2. Accordingly, the occurrence of the paper jam can be prevented while the carriage 108 reciprocates in the second direction D2.
Referring to fig. 1, a direction in which the ink jet printer 100 faces the user is defined as "front" and a direction opposite thereto is defined as "rear" with reference to a position at which the user uses the ink jet printer 100. Then, the first direction D1 is a direction in which the recording medium moves back and forth in a horizontal posture, and further, the above-mentioned second direction D2 and third direction D3 are determined according to the first direction D1. In an embodiment not shown, the first direction D1 may be a direction in which the recording medium moves in a vertical posture, and thus, the second direction D2 and the third direction D3 change accordingly.
In the present embodiment, referring to fig. 4, it may be understood that the shortest distance L1 may refer to the shortest distance from the lowest surface (i.e., the second surface described later) of the electrical contact protection member 105 to the support member 103 in the third direction D3. The shortest distance L2 may refer to the shortest distance in the third direction D3 from the lowermost surface of the first recording part to the supporting part 103.
Further, the dimension of the electrical contact protection member 105 in the third direction D3 may be set larger than the dimension of the first recording member 104 in the third direction D3. Accordingly, the electrical contact protection member 105 and the first recording member 104 may have the same installation height as in fig. 4, that is, the top surface of the electrical contact protection member 105 and the top surface of the first recording member 104 are coplanar.
Of course, in other embodiments, it may be arranged that the dimension of the electrical contact protection member in the third direction D3 is equal to the dimension of the first recording member in the third direction D3. In this case, it is necessary to adjust the mounting position (which may be understood as a mounting height, for example, the top surface of the electrical contact protection member is lower than the top surface of the first recording member in the third direction D3) on the carriage 108 at which the first recording member and the electrical contact protection member are provided, so that the shortest distance L1 of the electrical contact protection member mounted to the carriage 108 to the supporting member 103 in the third direction D3 is smaller than the shortest distance L2 of the first recording member mounted to the carriage 108 to the supporting member 103 in the third direction D3.
Further, the recording portion 106 of the ink jet printer 100 of the present invention may further include a second recording member 109. A second recording part 109 may be provided detachably mounted to the carriage 108 to replace the electrical contact protection part 105. The second recording part 109 may be a color recording part for ejecting ink of three colors, for example, cyan, magenta, and yellow, unlike the first recording part 104 which can eject ink of black. In a state where the second recording member 109 is attached to the carriage 108, the second recording member 109 is in contact with the second electrical contact 182 and is reciprocally movable along with the carriage 108. It is understood that the ink jet printer 100 at this time can be used as a color printer in a state where both the first recording part 104 and the second recording part 109 are attached to the carriage 108.
When the ink jet printer 100 is used as a black-and-white printer, the electrical contact protection member 105 is normally stored in a housing chamber provided in the printer body 101 by default, and the electrical contact protection member 105 is accommodated in the housing chamber through the housing opening 102; the first recording element 104 is mounted by default on the carriage 108 and is in contact with the first electrical contact 181; if it is desired to perform a black and white printing function, the electrical contact protection member 105 is removed from the mounting chamber and mounted on the carriage 108 in contact with the second electrical contact 182.
The second recording part 109 for ejecting color ink is usually a second recording part 109 which contains therein full color ink and is replaced with a new one after the color ink in the second recording part 109 is used up. When the ink jet printer 100 is used as a color printer, the electrical contact protection member 105 is removed from the carriage 108 and stored in the housing chamber; at the same time, the second recording part 109 is mounted on the carriage 108 and brought into contact with the second electrical contact 182, so that the color printing function can be started.
Next, the structure of the electrical contact protection member 105 in the present embodiment will be described in detail with reference to fig. 5.
As shown in fig. 5, the electrical contact protection member 105 includes a first surface 151, and the first surface 151 includes a protection contact (not shown). In a state where the electric contact protection member 105 is mounted to the bracket 108, the protection contact comes into contact with the second electric contact 182. Therefore, the second electric contact 182 can be prevented from being rusted due to the influence of foreign matters and ink mist after being exposed for a long time, and the service life of the ink-jet printer can be further prolonged.
The electrical contact protection component 105 further comprises a second surface 152 and a third surface 153. The second surface 152 is connected to the first surface 151 of the electrical contact protection member 105 and is opposite to the support member 103; the third surface 153 is connected to the first surface 151 of the electrical contact protection member 105 and is opposite to the second surface 152. As viewed in fig. 5 (the electrical contact protection member 105 at this time is inverted with respect to the state shown in fig. 4), the second surface 152 may be understood as a bottom surface of the electrical contact protection member 105, and the third surface 153 may be understood as a top surface of the electrical contact protection member 105.
The electrical contact protection component 105 further comprises a fourth surface 154 and a fifth surface 155. The fourth surface 154 intersects the first surface 151, the second surface 152, and the third surface 153; the fifth surface 155 intersects the first surface 151, the second surface 152, and the third surface 153, and the fifth surface 155 is opposite to the fourth surface 154. The fourth surface 154 and the fifth surface 155 can be understood as both side surfaces of the electrical contact protection member 105 as viewed in fig. 5.
Since the shortest distance L1 from the electric contact protection member 105 mounted to the carriage 108 to the support member 103 in the third direction D3 is smaller than the shortest distance L2 from the first recording member 104 mounted to the carriage 108 to the support member 103 in the third direction D3, in order to prevent the electric contact protection member 105 from being jammed during movement, the electric contact protection member 105 further includes a jam prevention structure disposed in the second direction D2 to form the second surface 152.
Specifically, in the present embodiment, the jam prevention structure is configured to include the members 158 continuously disposed in the second direction D2. The continuously disposed member 158 includes a continuous, uninterrupted plane such that the second surface 152 is a continuous, uninterrupted plane.
The following provides a plurality of other embodiments of the ink jet printer, which may have substantially the same configuration as the first embodiment except for the configuration of the electrical contact protection member, and therefore, for brevity of description, only the distinguishing features will be described in detail herein. The same reference numerals are used for the members having the same structure.
Next, the electrical contact protection member in the ink jet printer according to the second to fourth embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to fig. 6 to 8, respectively.
Second embodiment
Fig. 6 shows an electrical contact protection member 205 of an ink jet printer according to a second embodiment of the present invention. At least one of the fourth surface 254 and the fifth surface 255 may have a concave portion 257, the concave portion 257 at least partially penetrating the third surface 253.
In the present embodiment, as shown in fig. 6, the fourth surface 254 and the fifth surface 255 of the electrical contact protection member 205 are each provided with a concave portion 257 and penetrate the third surface 253. From the above description it follows that: the third surface 253 is a top surface of the electrical contact protection member 205, and in the process of taking out or putting in the electrical contact protection member 205 from or into the placement chamber through the placement opening 102, the concave portion 257 penetrates through the notch formed by the third surface 253 to allow the fingers of a user to extend and hold, so that the electrical contact protection member 205 can be taken conveniently without arranging other portions for the fingers to extend on the placement opening 102, and the space of the printer body 101 is saved. And the notch is semicircular, which is beneficial to matching the finger shape of a user.
Also shown in fig. 6 are a first surface 251 and a second surface 252 of the electrical contact protection component 205 of the present embodiment, wherein the first surface 251 includes a protection contact 256. In a state where the electric contact protection member 205 is mounted to the bracket 108, the protection contact 256 is in contact with the second electric contact. Therefore, the second electric contact can be prevented from being rusted due to the influence of foreign matters and ink mist caused by long-time exposure, and the service life of the ink-jet printer is prolonged.
Third embodiment
Fig. 7 shows an electrical contact protection member 305 of an ink jet printer according to a third embodiment of the present invention. The electrical contact protection member 305 according to the third embodiment may have substantially the same configuration as the electrical contact protection member 105 according to the first embodiment except for the configuration of the anti-jamming structure, and therefore, only the distinctive technical features will be described in detail herein for the sake of brevity of description.
