Abstract
The present invention relates to a filter element (10) having a frame and a filter stage having a pleated first filter medium; the object of the invention is to provide a filter element which can be produced in a simple manner in terms of production technology and which can be decomposed in a simple manner for professional handling. According to the utility model discloses be considered profitable: a sealing effect is provided for the frame (1) itself.
Description
Technical Field
The utility model relates to a filter element.
Background
It is known that: the filter element is used for purifying air. EP 3015155 a1 discloses a filter assembly for a vehicle interior, in which adsorption filtration and particle filtration for filtration purposes are combined in a single filter. In this case, the filter layer, which is designed as a dust filter, intercepts particulate constituents, such as dust and pollen, from the inlet air. The filter layer configured as an absorption filter intercepts undesired gaseous constituents from the incoming air, such as harmful gases, odors, benzene, or ozone.
A filter element designed as a so-called combi filter is known from WO 2010/049052 a 1. Such filter elements filter particles and absorb gases.
This type of filter element can be used for cleaning air in indoor air filters. It is also known that: the modular filter is used in a mobile cleaning device which can be erected in a building, for example, in a positionally variable manner. Filters for such purifiers are described, for example, in EP 3167949 a 1.
When using filter elements in air filtration, it is important: the filter is well sealed with respect to the air-conducting housing and thus ensures: air does not pass between the housing and the filter. There should be no bypass, but a leak-free, i.e. leak-free, seal. For this purpose, the filter medium is usually glued in a frame, which means an additional process step in the production of the filter element. The adhesive bond creates a permanent, cohesive connection and makes proper sorting after the filter is used more difficult.
SUMMERY OF THE UTILITY MODEL
The utility model aims to provide a: a funnel-shaped filter element is provided, which can be produced simply in terms of production technology and can be easily disassembled for professional handling.
The object is achieved by a filter element having the following features.
A filter element having a frame and at least one filter stage having a pleated first filter medium, wherein the first filter medium is accommodated in the frame and has the shape of a circular funnel-shaped ring, the frame having an inner ring and an outer ring which are arranged concentrically with one another for accommodating the first filter medium and the frame being made of a sealing material.
Advantageously, the inner and outer rings are arranged concentrically with respect to each other for accommodating the first filter medium and a further filter medium between the inner and outer rings. The filter element according to the invention has a frame and at least one filter stage which has a pleated, i.e. multiply folded, first filter medium. The filtration stage is used for particulate filtration. The first filter medium is accommodated in the frame and has the shape of a circular funnel-shaped ring, that is to say, the shape of the circumference of a truncated cone. The entire filter element also has a funnel shape.
According to the utility model discloses be considered profitable: providing the frame itself with a sealing action:
the frame has a smaller inner ring and a larger outer ring which are arranged concentrically relative to one another and serve to accommodate the first filter medium and, if appropriate, a further filter medium between the inner ring and the outer ring. The frame is advantageously made of a sealing material. The sealing material is in particular compressible and/or flexible. The diameters of the outer and inner rings are selected relative to the outer and inner diameters of the funnel-shaped filter medium such that an interference fit (press fit) is obtained. By pressing the filter medium in the frame, a sealing effect is obtained at the contact surfaces of the filter medium with the inner ring and the outer ring. An additional sealing effect is obtained on the contact surfaces of the inner and outer rings with the filter housing in which the filter element is accommodated.
In an advantageous development, the sealing material is an elastomer, for example Polyurethane (PU), thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) or silicone.
The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a filter element as described above.
The described embodiments and the described advantageous developments of the invention also form advantageous developments of the invention in combination with one another as long as they are technically meaningful.
Drawings
The invention shall be further elucidated with the aid of a drawing. Elements and components that correspond to one another are provided with the same reference numerals in the figures. The drawings are not to scale for a better understanding of the drawings.
In the schematic diagram:
fig. 1 shows a filter element according to the invention;
FIGS. 2a and 2b show top and cross-sectional views of the filter element shown in FIG. 1;
FIG. 2c shows a further filtration stage with funnel-shaped filtration media;
fig. 3 shows a frame of the filter element.
Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a filter element 10 having a frame 1 and a filter stage 2, the filter stage 2 having a pleated first filter medium 3. The further filter stage 7 is covered by the other filter stages 2, is arranged parallel to the filter stage and is therefore not visible. The first filter medium 3 is accommodated in the frame 1. The first filter medium 3, like the monolithic filter element 10, has the shape of a circular funnel-shaped ring.
The frame 1 has an inner ring 1a and an outer ring 1b which are arranged concentrically with respect to one another for accommodating a first filter medium 3 and a second filter medium 8 between the inner ring 1a and the outer ring 1 b. The frame 1 is made of a sealing material, i.e. an elastomer. The inner ring 1a and the outer ring 1b are further shown in fig. 3. The tolerances of the diameters of the rings 1a, 1b and of the filter media 3, 8 are selected such that there is an interference fit, that is to say the filter media 3, 8 are pressed into the rings 1a, 1 b. Since the rings 1a, 1b are made of an elastic material, a sealing effect is obtained on the contact surfaces of the filter media 3, 8 with the inner ring 1a and the outer ring 1 b. A further sealing effect is obtained at the contact surfaces of the inner ring 1a and the outer ring 1b with the filter housing in which the filter element 10 is housed. The position of the filter receptacle is depicted by the position reference 9 in fig. 2 a.
As can be seen in fig. 2a, the first filter medium 3 is formed by a corrugated tube with a plurality of folding edges 4, which corrugated tube is initially rectangular in plan view and the two end folds of which are connected to one another so as to form a ring. As can be seen from fig. 2b, the bellows has a parallelogram shape in its cross section in the direction of the folding edge 4.
The first filter medium 3 may contain nonwoven, PP, PET and/or PE and/or PTFE.
The second filter stage 7 of the filter element 10 can also be identified in fig. 2 b. This second filter stage has a second filter medium 8 containing activated carbon, the second filter medium 8 likewise being accommodated between the inner rings 1a and 1b of the frame. The second filter medium has the shape of a circular, funnel-shaped ring and is embodied seamlessly as a deep drawn part.
The second filter medium 8 is a flat nonwoven fabric with an activated carbon layer. Fig. 2c shows a variant of a further filter stage 7, 7 'with a filter element 10, which has a funnel-shaped filter medium 8, 8'. The filter media each have the shape of a circular funnel-shaped ring and are embodied seamlessly as deep drawn parts. The view of fig. 2c is an exploded view to better show the individual filter media 8, 8'. In practice, the individual filter media 8, 8' are in direct abutment with one another.
