A camera device 1 for a vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to fig. 1 and 2. The vehicle camera 1 of the present embodiment is provided at the tailgate of a vehicle. Referring to fig. 1, a tailgate of a vehicle includes a rear window surface 2 and a wiper device 3 that performs a wiping action on the rear window surface 2.
The wiper device 3 includes: a wiper arm 5 that holds the wiper rubber 4; and a mounting base portion 6 having a swing shaft 5a for performing a wiping operation of the wiper arm 5 and protruding in a direction perpendicular to the rear window surface 2 with respect to the rear window surface 2.
The mounting base 6 is provided with an extension 7 extending along the rear window surface 2. A lens portion 8 of the vehicle camera device 1 for capturing an image of the rear of the vehicle is disposed in the extending portion 7. The lens portion 8 is configured not to be shielded by the wiper arm 5 when the wiper device 3 is stopped. In addition, the lens portion 8 is configured to be located within a swing range of the wiper arm 5 when the wiper device 3 is operated.
A sub wiper rubber 9 is provided on the wiper arm 5 so as to be contactable with the lens portion 8, and the sub wiper rubber 9 wipes the lens portion 8 simultaneously with the wiping operation of the rear window surface 2.
According to the vehicle camera device 1 of the present embodiment, when the wiper arm 5 is caused to perform the wiping operation, the lens portion 8 can be wiped and cleaned by the sub-wiper rubber 9 while the rear window surface 2 is wiped by the wiper rubber 4 of the wiper arm 5, and therefore, it is not necessary to provide a wiper dedicated to the vehicle camera device 1, and the manufacturing cost of the vehicle camera device 1 can be reduced and the weight thereof can be reduced. In other words, the lens portion 8 of the vehicle camera device can be cleaned by the same motor (not shown) as the motor (not shown) that rotates the wiper arm 5, and therefore the number of parts can be reduced to reduce the cost and weight.

the wiper arm includes a sub wiper rubber for wiping the lens portion.
