Detailed Description
Embodiments and examples of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
The scope of applicability of the present invention will become apparent from the detailed description given hereinafter. It should be understood, however, that the detailed description and the specific examples, while indicating preferred embodiments of the invention, are given by way of illustration only.
Fig. 1 shows a cover device according to an embodiment of the present invention. The cover device comprises a cover member 2, two snail springs (also called coil springs) 5-1, 5-2, two dampers 4-1, 4-2 and two spring protection covers 6-1, 6-2. Two separate shaft cylinders 2-1, 2-2 are provided on both sides of one end of the cover member 2. The inner walls of the shaft barrels 2-1 and 2-2 are respectively provided with a first groove and a second groove, the outer parts of the outer barrel parts of the dampers 4-1 and 4-2 are respectively provided with a first protruding part matched with the first groove, and the outer parts of the spring protection covers 6-1 and 6-2 are respectively provided with a second protruding part matched with the second groove. The snail springs 5-1 and 5-2 are respectively sleeved in the spring protection covers 6-1 and 6-2, and the outer ends L of the snail springs are respectively fixedly connected with the inner walls of the spring protection covers 6-1 and 6-2, for example, the outer ends L are clamped in the second protrusion parts. The spring protection covers 6-1 and 6-2 are beneficial to keeping the snail springs 5-1 and 5-2 from deforming and avoiding the snail springs from damaging the shaft barrels 2-1 and 2-2. In an embodiment, the snail spring and the spring protection cover can also be fixedly connected by arranging a hole on the inner wall of the spring protection cover and enabling the outer end of the snail spring to be clamped into the hole, and of course, any other suitable fixing connection mode can also be adopted. The bearings of the dampers 4-1 and 4-2 respectively pass through the centers of the snail springs 5-1 and 5-2 and are fixedly connected with the inner ends M thereof. The second protrusions outside the spring protection covers 6-1 and 6-2 are respectively clamped into the second grooves on the inner walls of the shaft barrels 2-1 and 2-2, and the first protrusions on the outer cylinder parts of the dampers 4-1 and 4-2 are respectively clamped into the first grooves on the inner walls of the shaft barrels 2-1 and 2-2. The snail springs 5-1, 5-2 are mounted such that, for example, when the cover member 2 is in a substantially upright position, it is in a relaxed state, when the cover member 2 is pressed down to rotate downward about the shaft portion fitted in the shaft cylinders 2-1, 2-2, the distal ends L of the snail springs 5-1, 5-2 move with the cover member 2 to apply pressure to the snail springs 5-1, 5-2, i.e., the snail springs 5-1, 5-2 are in a gradually tightened stressed state as the cover member 2 falls, and the snail springs 5-1, 5-2 substantially reach their rated spring force (maximum set spring force) when the cover member 2 falls to a substantially horizontal position, the sum of the rated spring forces of the snail springs 5-1, 5-2 being greater than the weight (or weight) of the cover member 2. When the external force on the cover member 2 disappears, the snail springs 5-1, 5-2 release their elastic force and the distal end L moves towards the relaxed position, so that the cover member 2 is carried and the cover member 2 will automatically lift upwards, since the elastic force of the snail springs 5-1, 5-2 is greater than the weight of the cover member 2. The dampers 4-1, 4-2 are installed to resist the release of the elastic force of the snail springs 5-1, 5-2, respectively, so that the cover 2 will automatically rise slowly without sudden sharp rise causing accidental injury or startle. Fig. 2 schematically shows the operation of the snail spring. When the cover member 2 falls, the outer end L of the snail spring is driven to move from the position H to the position I, and the snail spring is gradually tightened due to stress so as to have elasticity. When the external force on the cover 2 disappears, the spring force of the snail spring is released and the outer end L of the snail spring slowly moves from the I position to the H position, so that the cover 2 slowly rises from the horizontal position to the upright position.
In other embodiments, the cover device may not include a spring protective cover. In this case, the outer end of the snail spring is directly fixedly connected with the inner wall of the shaft barrel. For example, the fixed connection is made by providing a hole in the inner wall of the shaft barrel and snapping the outer end of the snail spring into the hole.
In other embodiments, the first groove can be arranged outside the damper outer cylinder, and the first protrusion part can be arranged on the inner wall of the shaft cylinder; and/or the second groove is arranged outside the spring protection cover, and the second protrusion part is arranged on the inner wall of the shaft barrel.
In other embodiments, the cap may include only one shaft. In this case, only one snail spring (with or without a spring protection cap) may be mounted in the shaft barrel, and correspondingly, only one damper is provided. Alternatively, a single shaft cartridge may be fitted at each end with a snail spring (with or without a spring protector), each snail spring being connected to a damper.
In other embodiments, the fixed connection may also be achieved by one or more of the following: welding, gluing, riveting, screwing, bolting or other means of making relative movement impossible.
Fig. 3 shows a state in which the cover device shown in fig. 1 is applied to a toilet cover. The toilet lid assembly comprises an outer lid 1 and a seat ring having the structure of the lid device shown in fig. 1, the outer lid 1 being disposed outside the lid member 2 and rotatable coaxially therewith. The sum of the rated elastic forces of the snail springs 5-1, 5-2 should be smaller than the sum of the weight of the lid 2 and the weight of the outer lid 1. When the outer cover 1 falls, the cover member 2 is driven to fall, and the whole toilet cover is closed because the pressure of the outer cover 1 and the cover member 2 (seat ring) is greater than the upward elasticity of the snail spring, thereby achieving the purposes of deodorizing and preventing bacteria from instantly diffusing during flushing. When the outer cover 1 is opened, the seat ring can automatically rise upwards because the gravity of the seat ring is smaller than the upward force of the snail spring, and the urine pollution is avoided. Because the dampers 4-1 and 4-2 are arranged, the seat ring can not rise upwards instantly but slowly rise and slowly fall, and the user is prevented from being frightened or accidentally injured. Also shown in figure 3 are shafts 7-1, 7-2 for securing the toilet lid assembly to the toilet body (not shown). The shaft portions of the shaft members 7-1, 7-2 are adapted to be received within the shaft barrels 2-1, 2-2 such that the toilet lid assembly is rotatable about the shaft portions. The other end of the shaft 7-1, 7-2 is adapted to be fixedly connected to the toilet body, e.g. by means of a screw, a nut or the like.
The various embodiments described herein, or certain features, structures, or characteristics thereof, may be combined as suitable in one or more embodiments of the invention.
As used herein, the singular forms "a", "an" and "the" include plural references (i.e., have the meaning "at least one"), unless the context clearly dictates otherwise.
