Abstract
The present creation is a connector, which is a connection flat cable. The connector comprises an upper cover plate, a lower plate body and an auxiliary piece. By combining the upper cover plate and the lower plate body, the flat cable can be clamped in the accommodating space, and when external force is applied to the upper cover plate, the flat cable can be unlocked, so that an included angle is formed between the upper cover plate and the lower plate body, the clamping piece of the latch flat cable is deformed, and the flat cable is released.

Conventionally, a flat cable is connected by using an automatic latching connector, and in order to achieve the purpose of automatic latching, the structure of the flat cable needs to provide a holding structure, and the holding structure occupies a certain space, so that the height of the automatic latching connector is high, and for some use environments, the use is inconvenient.
Therefore, the present invention provides a connector for solving the disadvantages caused by the conventional connector.

The second objective of the present invention is to provide a connector, wherein the upper cover plate is connected to the lower plate, and a force (i.e. pulling force) is applied to the rear end of the upper cover plate, so as to release the latch of the flat cable.
The third objective of the present invention is to provide the connector, wherein the upper cover plate is provided with an opening, so that when the upper cover plate is combined with the lower plate, a part of the clamping member (for latching the flat cable) protrudes from the opening, and no interference occurs, thereby achieving the purpose of thinning.
To achieve the above and other objects, the present invention provides a connector for connecting a flat cable and a circuit board. The connector comprises an upper cover plate, a lower plate body and an auxiliary piece. The upper cover plate is provided with a surface and a side edge. The surface of the upper cover plate is provided with an opening, the side edge of the upper cover plate is provided with an extension arm, and the outer side of the extension arm is provided with a buckling piece and a first connecting piece. The lower plate body is connected with the upper cover plate. The lower plate forms a terminal groove, a containing space, an actuating groove and a rotating base. The terminal groove and the actuating groove are formed in the accommodating space. The accommodating space can be inserted with a flat cable. The terminal groove is used for arranging a terminal and the actuating groove is used for arranging a clamping piece. The rotating base is formed on the side of the actuating groove and provides a second connecting piece. Wherein, the position of the clamping piece arranged in the actuating groove corresponds to the position of the opening, and the rotating base is arranged corresponding to the extension arm. The auxiliary member is disposed on the lower plate and coupled to the rotation base. The upper cover plate is combined with the lower plate body through the combination of the first connecting piece and the second connecting piece, the buckling pieces act on the rotating base and the matched clamping pieces to clamp the flat cable in the accommodating space, and when external force is applied to the upper cover plate, an included angle is formed between the upper cover plate and the lower plate body, so that the clamping pieces deform to release the flat cable.
Compared with the prior art, the connector provided by the invention is of an automatic locking (AutoLock) type, when the flat cable is inserted into the connector, the flat cable is automatically locked, and the automatic locking is more stable by the aid of the auxiliary piece and the buckling piece of the upper cover; also, by pulling up (i.e., on the side where the non-flat cable is inserted) the upper cover plate, the flat cable can be detached from the connector.
The specific techniques employed in the present invention will be further described with reference to the following examples and accompanying drawings.

Please refer to fig. 1, which is a schematic structural diagram of a connector according to a first embodiment of the present disclosure. In fig. 1, the connector 10 may be used to connect the flat cable 4 with the circuit board 2. The upper drawing of fig. 1 is a state in which the connector 10 latches the flat cable 4, and the lower drawing of fig. 1 is a released state in which the connector 10 releases the latching of the flat cable 4.
Referring also to fig. 2, an exploded view of the connector of fig. 1 is illustrated. The connector 10 includes an upper cover 12, a lower plate 14 and an auxiliary member 20. The top view of fig. 2 discloses the structure of the upper cover plate 12, the middle view of fig. 2 discloses the structure of the lower board 14, and the bottom view of fig. 2 discloses the structures of the terminals 16, the clamping members 18, and the auxiliary members 20.
The upper cover plate 12 has a surface and a side edge, wherein the surface is adjacent to the two side edges of the side edge to form the opening 122, in addition, the side edge of the upper cover plate 12 forms the extension arm 124, and a fastener 126 is formed on the outer side of the extension arm 124 and a first connector 1242 is formed on the outer side of the extension arm 124. The fastener 126 is a bump or a bump. Here, the first connecting member 1242 may be a through hole on the extension arm 124 or other types.
A lower plate 14 is connected to the upper cover plate 12. The lower plate 14 provides a receiving space SP for receiving the flat cable 4. The lower plate 14 forms a terminal groove 142, an actuating groove 144 and a rotating base 146. The terminal groove 142 and the actuating groove 144 are formed in the accommodating space SP.
The terminal slot 142 is used for disposing a terminal 16 and the actuating slot 144 is used for disposing a clamping member 18. The structure of the clamping member 18 can refer to the structure disclosed in the cross-sectional view of fig. 4, and the clamping member 18 can be a separate component or a part extending from the upper cover plate 12. The latter is exemplified here.
Returning to fig. 2, the rotating base 146 is formed at a side of the actuating groove 144 and provides a second link 1462. Here, the second link 1462 may be a boss or other type on the rotating base 146. Therefore, the rotating base 146 couples the extending arm 124 through the hole by the protruding pillar. In another embodiment, the types of the first connecting element and the second connecting element can be used interchangeably, that is, the first connecting element can be a pillar and the second connecting element can be a through hole. The position of the actuating slot 144 for disposing the clamping member 18 corresponds to the position of the opening 122. The rotating base 146 is disposed corresponding to the extension arm 124. In addition, the actuating groove 144 can form a stop block 1442, and the stop block 1442 is adjacent to the opening 122 when the upper cover plate 12 is combined with the lower plate body 14.
The auxiliary member 20 is disposed on the lower plate 14 and coupled to the rotating base 146, and herein the rotating base 146 is combined in a latch (or embedded) manner, and the upper drawing of fig. 3 is referred to as a detailed structure of the auxiliary member 20. The auxiliary member 20 further includes a coupling portion 204 and a locking portion 202. The coupling portion 204 is connected to the latch portion 202. The combining portion 204 is coupled to the rotating base 146, such that the fastening portion 202 and the rotating base 146 are spaced apart from each other by a distance, which is capable of extending the arm 124, as shown in the lower diagram of fig. 3, which is a schematic diagram illustrating the combination of the first connecting member and the second connecting member of the present invention, and the upper cover plate 12 can be combined with the lower plate 14 by the combination of the first connecting member and the second connecting member. In another embodiment, the auxiliary member further includes a fixing portion 206 capable of locking the lower board 14 to the circuit board 2. In addition, when the locking portion 202 is an opening, the locking portion 202 (e.g., the opening) is locked by the locking member 126 (e.g., the bump or the bump), so that the included angle between the upper cover plate 12 and the lower plate 14 is maintained at 0 degree or close to 0 degree.
Referring also to fig. 4, a schematic cross-sectional view a-a' of the connector of fig. 1 of the present invention is illustrated. In the latch diagram shown in the top view of fig. 4, when the upper cover 12 is combined with the lower plate 14, the upper cover 12 is stably fastened to the lower plate 14 by the fastener 126 being fastened to the rotating (e.g., counterclockwise rotating) base 146. Also, reference is made to the unlatching schematic diagram in the lower drawing of fig. 4.
When the flat cable 4 is inserted into the accommodating space SP, the clamping member 18 can clamp the flat cable 4 in the accommodating space SP, and the clamping member 18 is pressed by the flat cable 4 such that a portion of the clamping member 18 is exposed to the opening 122. When an external force (i.e., pulling or cocking) is applied to the upper cover plate 12, an included angle is formed between the upper cover plate 12 and the lower plate 14, which further deforms the clamping member 18, thereby releasing the flat cable 4.
Although the embodiments of the present disclosure have been described above, it should be understood that various changes in the form, construction, features, methods and quantities described in the claims may be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the present disclosure, and therefore the scope of the present disclosure should not be limited by the claims appended hereto.
Claims (10)
1. A connector for connecting a flat cable to a circuit board, said connector comprising:
the upper cover plate is provided with a surface and a side edge, an opening is formed in the surface of the upper cover plate, an extension arm is formed on the side edge of the upper cover plate, a fastener is formed on the outer side of the extension arm, and a first connecting piece is formed between the fastener and the outer side of the extension arm;
a lower plate body connected with the upper cover plate, wherein the lower plate body forms a terminal groove, an accommodating space, an actuating groove and a rotating base, the terminal groove and the actuating groove are formed in the accommodating space, the accommodating space is used for inserting a flat cable, the terminal groove is used for arranging a terminal and the actuating groove for arranging a clamping piece, the rotating base is formed on the side edge of the actuating groove and provides a second connecting piece, the position of the actuating groove for arranging the clamping piece corresponds to the position of the opening, and the rotating base is arranged corresponding to the extension arm; and
an auxiliary member disposed on the lower plate and coupled to the rotation base;
the upper cover plate is combined with the lower plate body through the combination of the first connecting piece and the second connecting piece, the buckling piece acts on the rotating base and is matched with the clamping piece to clamp the flat cable in the containing space, and when external force is applied to the upper cover plate, an included angle is generated between the upper cover plate and the lower plate body, so that the clamping piece is deformed to release the flat cable.
2. The connector of claim 1, wherein the opening is formed above the holder, and the holder penetrates the opening when the holder is deformed.
3. The connector of claim 1, wherein the auxiliary member includes a coupling portion and a latching portion, the coupling portion is coupled to the latching portion, and the coupling portion is coupled to the rotating base such that the latching portion is spaced apart from the rotating base for receiving the extension arm.
4. The connector of claim 3, wherein the auxiliary member further comprises a fixing portion for locking the lower plate to the circuit board.
5. The connector of claim 3, wherein the fastener is a protrusion or a bump and the fastening portion is an opening, and the protrusion or the bump fastens the opening to maintain an included angle between the upper cover plate and the lower plate at 0 degree or close to 0 degree.
6. The connector of claim 1, wherein the first connector is a through-hole and the second connector is a post, the post coupled to the through-hole.
7. The connector of claim 6, wherein one end of the clamping member is connected to the upper cover plate, and the other end of the clamping member is engaged with the actuating slot, such that the clamping member deforms when the external force is applied to the upper cover plate.
8. The connector of claim 7, wherein the external force is applied to the upper cover plate to rotate an included angle between the upper cover plate and the lower plate body counterclockwise.
9. The connector of claim 1, wherein the actuating groove forms a stop block, and the stop block is adjacent to the opening when the upper cover plate is combined with the lower plate body.
10. The connector according to claim 1, wherein the holder is pressed by the flat cable such that a portion of the holder protrudes to be exposed to the opening.
