Abstract
A reflector arrangement for a vehicle headlamp, comprising: a reflector; a reflector mounting arrangement comprising a body member and a protrusion extending from the body member toward the reflector, wherein the reflector is pivotably connected to the protrusion, the protrusion configured to move in a linear direction along an axis; a mounting plate comprising a first connection portion and a second connection portion, wherein the reflector is mounted to the first connection portion of the mounting plate, wherein the second connection portion is configured to be connected to a frame component of a vehicle headlamp, wherein the mounting plate has an elongated groove, wherein the at least one groove elastically deforms the first connection portion of the mounting plate relative to the second connection portion to allow the reflector to tilt relative to the second connection portion due to linear movement of the protrusion along the axis such that the tilted reflector reflects light in a second beam direction.
Description
Technical Field
The utility model relates to a reflector device for vehicle headlamps, it includes: a reflector configured to reflect light in a first beam direction; a reflector mounting apparatus comprising a body member and a tab extending from the body member toward the reflector, wherein the reflector is pivotably connected to the tab, the tab configured to move in a linear direction along an axis relative to the body member of the reflector mounting apparatus; a mounting plate comprising a first connection portion and a second connection portion, wherein the reflector is mounted at the first connection portion of the mounting plate, wherein the second connection portion is configured to be connected to a frame component of a vehicle headlamp.
Background
A universal reflector arrangement for a vehicle headlamp comprises a reflector configured to reflect light onto a road in a particular beam direction. In order to change the beam direction, the vehicle headlamps are usually tilted by means of an electric motor. This requires a powerful and energy consuming motor.
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a reflector arrangement of the above mentioned type which overcomes the disadvantages of the prior art.
In order to achieve this object, a reflector device of the initially mentioned type is further developed according to the invention, wherein the mounting plate has at least one elongated groove separating the first connection portion and the second connection portion from each other, wherein the at least one groove enables the first connection portion of the mounting plate to be elastically deformed relative to the second connection portion to allow the reflector to tilt relative to the second connection portion due to the linear movement of the protrusion along the axis, such that the tilted reflector reflects light in the second beam direction.
By having an elongated groove, the first and second portions of the mounting plate can be elastically deformed relative to each other with a small force, due to the reduced rigidity of the mounting plate compared to a mounting plate without a groove. Since the reflector is mounted to the first part of the mounting plate, tilting of the reflector can also be achieved with a small force. Thus, a less powerful adjustment device can be used.
Preferably, the reflector mounting means comprises a stepper motor.
Advantageously, the second portion of the mounting plate is connected to a body part of the reflector mounting arrangement.
The elongate recess may be a slit orthogonal to the projection.
Preferably, the reflector is a parabolic reflector.
Drawings
In the following, for further explanation of the invention, exemplary and non-limiting embodiments are discussed, as illustrated in the accompanying drawings, which show:
FIG. 1 is a reflector arrangement with a reflector in a first state;
fig. 2 is a reflector arrangement according to fig. 1 with the reflector in a second state; and
fig. 3 is a reflector of the reflector arrangement.
Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a reflector arrangement 1 for a vehicle headlamp, wherein a reflector 2 is in a first, non-tilted state. Fig. 2 shows the reflector arrangement 1 with the reflector 2 in a second tilted state (tilting is indicated by curved arrows in fig. 2). The reflector mounting means 3 comprises a body member 4 and a protrusion 5 extending from the body member 4 towards the reflector 2. The reflector 2 is pivotably connected to the protrusion 5. The protrusion 5 is configured to move in a linear direction (indicated by the straight arrow in fig. 2) along an axis 6 relative to the body part 4 of the reflector mounting arrangement 3.
Fig. 3 shows the reflector 2 and the mounting plate 7 comprising a first connection portion 8 and a second connection portion 9, wherein the reflector 2 is mounted to the first connection portion 8 of the mounting plate 7. The second connection portion 9 of the mounting plate 7 is connected to the body part 4 of the reflector mounting arrangement 3 (see fig. 1 and 2). Alternatively, the second connecting portion 9 may be connected to a frame member of the vehicle headlamp.
The mounting plate 7 has at least one elongated groove 10 separating the first and second connection portions 8, 9 from each other. The elongate recess 10 is a slit orthogonal to the projection 5. The at least one recess 10 enables the first connection portion 8 of the mounting plate 7 to be elastically deformed relative to the second connection portion 9. This allows the reflector 2 to tilt relative to the second connection portion 9, wherein the tilting is caused by a linear movement of the protrusion 5 along the axis 6. The tilted reflector 2 reflects light in the second beam direction.
