5. The harness of any one of claims 1-4 wherein the side of the mounting plate remote from the backpack is further provided with a cushioning element.
6. The harness of claim 5 wherein said fixed plate is provided with three of said cushioning members, two of said cushioning members being provided on a top side of the other of said cushioning members and being disposed in bilateral symmetry.

The harness of any one of claims 1-4 wherein the side of the anchor plate adjacent the backpack is further provided with a cushioning plate and a stabilizing plate, the stabilizing plate for engaging the backpack, the cushioning plate being disposed between the stabilizing plate and the anchor plate.
8. The harness of any one of claims 1-4 wherein the harness includes a harness body and an adjustment cord, one end of the harness body is fixedly attached to the top of the fixed plate, one end of the adjustment cord is telescopically attached to the other end of the harness body, and the other end of the adjustment cord is attached to the bottom of the fixed plate.
9. The harness of claim 8 wherein a removable harness connector link is provided between the adjustment cord and the fixed plate.
10. A backpack comprising a harness as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 9 removably attached to the backpack.
