Detailed Description
The preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to examples. It will be understood by those skilled in the art that these exemplary embodiments are not meant to form any limitation of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a schematic perspective view of a toothbrush according to a first preferred embodiment of the present invention, and fig. 2 is another schematic perspective view of a toothbrush according to a first preferred embodiment of the present invention. Each bristle tuft of the second and third sets of bristles 13b, 13c is also disposed generally obliquely outwardly relative to the plane P so that the gap between the second and third sets of bristles 13b, 13c and the first set of bristles 13a increases progressively in a direction away from the head body 11 along the plane P, as shown in figure 9. A through hole 41 corresponding to the protruding socket 15 of the head body 11 may be formed on the bottom wall of the head accommodating chamber 39 for accommodating the protruding socket 15 of the head body 11, so that the spare brush head 5 is stably placed in the head accommodating chamber 39. In the preferred embodiment, there are two head accommodating cavities 39 and are respectively disposed at both sides of the head mounting cavity 27 and the head detaching cavity 31, but it is understood that the number of head accommodating cavities 39 may be more or less than two and may be disposed at other positions.
The lower case 21 is formed with a boss 45 having a central cavity 43 and a projection 49 having a catch 47. The underside of the lining part 25 is correspondingly formed with positioning studs 51 and projections 55 with openings 53. By inserting the locating posts 51 on the underside of the lining component 25 into the central cavities 43 of the posts 45 on the lower housing 21, the lining component 25 can be quickly located relative to the lower housing 21. By further pressing the lining member 25 downward, the catching portions 47 of the projections 49 on the lower case 21 can be received in the openings 53 of the projections 55 on the bottom side of the lining member 25, thereby reliably mounting the lining member 25 to the lower case 21, as shown in fig. 27. It should be understood that the lining member 25 may also be mounted to the lower housing 21 in other ways. Further, although in the preferred embodiment, the lining member 25 is formed separately from the lower case 21, it is also possible that the lining member 25 is formed integrally with the lower case 21.
A pressing portion 57 is formed to protrude from the surface of the upper case 23 facing the lower case 21 or the lining member 25 at a position corresponding to the brush head attachment cavity 27. In the preferred embodiment, the pressing part 57 is formed in a hollow lattice shape, but it may have other shapes as long as it can apply pressure to the handle. A protruding push post 59 is formed on the surface of the upper case 23 facing the lower case 21 or the lining member 25 at a position corresponding to the head detaching cavity 31, the push post 59 corresponding to the number and position of the second holes 9 on the toothbrush handle 3 and being freely passed through the second holes 9. In addition, locking means, such as a projection 61 formed on the lower housing 21 and a recess formed on the upper housing 23 for receiving the projection 61, are formed on the lower housing 21 and the upper housing 23 to securely lock the lower housing 21 and the upper housing 23 together when the device 20 for mounting and dismounting the brush head is not in use. The various components of the device 20 for mounting and dismounting the toothbrush head may be generally injection moulded from plastics material.
Figures 28-32 are schematic views showing the mounting of the toothbrush head 5 using the device 20 for mounting and dismounting the toothbrush head. The process of mounting the toothbrush head using the device for mounting and dismounting toothbrush head 20 will be described below with reference to fig. 28-32. First, the upper housing 23 is pivoted relative to the lower housing 21 to open the device 20 for attachment and detachment of the brush head, and then the brush head 5 is placed in the brush head mounting cavity 27 with the projected insertion part 15 on the brush head body 11 directed toward the upper side, as shown in fig. 28. Next, handle 3 is placed on head 5 so that first hole 7 in head mounting portion 3b of handle 3 is aligned with projecting spigot 15 on head 5, as shown in figure 29. Subsequently, the upper case 23 is pivoted to a position closed with the lower case 21, as shown in fig. 30. Next, upper housing 23 is pressed downwardly so that the pressing parts 57 on upper housing 23 contact the head mounting part 3b of handle 3 and apply a downward force to the head mounting part 3b of handle 3. Since the head body 11 is supported on the stepped portion 27a of the head mounting cavity 27, the protruding insertion part 15 of the head 5 is passed through the first hole 7 of the head mounting part 3b, thereby mounting the head 5 to the handle 3, as shown in fig. 31. Finally, the upper housing 23 is pivoted again relative to the lower housing 21 to open the device 20 for mounting and dismounting the brush head, and the already assembled toothbrush 1 is removed and ready for use, as shown in fig. 32.
Figures 33-38 are schematic views showing the removal of the brush head 5 using the device for mounting and removing a brush head 20. The process of removing the toothbrush head using the device for mounting and removing toothbrush head 20 will be described below with reference to fig. 33-38. First, the upper case 23 is pivoted with respect to the lower case 21 to open the apparatus 20 for mounting and dismounting the brush head, and then the brush head 5 mounted on the handle 3 is placed in the brush head dismounting cavity 31 with the handle 3 directed to the upper side, as shown in fig. 33 and 34. The upper housing 23 is then pivoted to a position closed with the lower housing 21, as shown in fig. 35. Next, the upper case 23 is pressed downward so that the push-push pin 59 of the upper case 23 passes through the second hole 9 of the head mounting part 3b, contacts the head body 11 and applies a downward force to the head body 11. Since the handle 3 is supported on the stepped portion 31a of the head removing cavity 31, the push-button 59 of the upper case 23 disengages the protruding engagement portion 15 of the brush head 5 from the first hole 7 of the head mounting portion 3b, thereby removing the brush head 5 from the handle 3, as shown in fig. 36. Finally, the upper case 23 is pivoted again with respect to the lower case 21 to open the apparatus 20 for mounting and dismounting the brush head, and the separated toothbrush handle 3 and brush head 5 are taken out, as shown in fig. 37.
Figure 38 is a variation of the device for mounting and dismounting the toothbrush head shown in figures 19-27. As mentioned above, the apparatus for mounting and dismounting the brush head shown in figure 38 differs from the apparatus for mounting and dismounting the brush head described in connection with figures 19-27 only in that: a cleaning brush accommodating chamber 35 is formed at an end side of the head mounting chamber 27 and the head detaching chamber 31.
Figure 39 is another variation of the device for mounting and dismounting the toothbrush head shown in figures 19-27. The apparatus for mounting and dismounting the toothbrush head shown in figure 39 differs from the apparatus for mounting and dismounting the toothbrush head described in connection with figures 19-27 only in that: it does not include a head receiving cavity for receiving a spare toothbrush head.
Figure 40 is a further variation of the apparatus for mounting and dismounting the toothbrush head shown in figures 19-27. The apparatus for mounting and dismounting the toothbrush head shown in figure 39 differs from the apparatus for mounting and dismounting the toothbrush head described in connection with figures 19-27 only in that: the cleaning brush accommodating chamber 35 is formed at the end sides of the head mounting chamber 27 and the head detaching chamber 31, and it does not include a head accommodating chamber for accommodating a spare brush head.
Further, it should be understood that the arrangement of the bristles of the spare toothbrush head stored in the head receiving cavity is not limited to the arrangement shown in the preferred embodiment.

Claims (17)

1. A toothbrush head (5), the toothbrush head (5) being detachably mountable to a toothbrush handle (3), characterized in that the toothbrush head (5) comprises:
a toothbrush head body (11), the toothbrush head body (11) having a first side (11a) and a second side (11b) opposite the first side (11 a);
bristles (13) mounted to the first side (11a) of the toothbrush head body (11); and
a protruding spigot (15) or first aperture (7) formed on the second side (11b) of the toothbrush head body (11), the protruding spigot (15) or first aperture (7) being for enabling mounting of the toothbrush head (5) to the toothbrush handle (3).
2. The brush head (5) according to claim 1, characterized in that the protruding insertion part (15) is formed on the second side (11b) of the brush head body (11), the protruding insertion part (15) being detachably insertable into the corresponding first hole (7) formed on the handle (3).
3. Toothbrush head (5) according to claim 2, characterised in that the projecting insert (15) is one or more.
4. Toothbrush head (5) according to claim 2, characterised in that there are four said protruding inserts (15) distributed symmetrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the toothbrush head body (11).

The brush head (5) according to claim 2 characterized in that the projected insert part (15) comprises a root part (15a) extending from the brush head body (11) and an end part (15b) which is integral with the root part (15a) but enlarged in size, and a cut-away part (15c) is further formed on the projected insert part (15).

The toothbrush head (5) according to claim 1, characterized in that the bristles (13) comprise a first group of bristles (13a) arranged in the center of the toothbrush head body (11), and a second group of bristles (13b) and a third group of bristles (13c) arranged symmetrically on both sides of the first group of bristles (13a) in the longitudinal direction of the toothbrush head body (11), each group of bristles comprising a plurality of bristle tufts grouped together by a plurality of bristles, the bristle tufts of the first group of bristles (13a) being arranged in a plurality of columns and spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction of the toothbrush head body (11), each bristle tuft of the first group of bristles (13a) being arranged parallel to a plane (P) passing through the longitudinal axis (BB) of the toothbrush head body (11) and perpendicular to the first side (11a), the bristle tufts of the second group of bristles (13b) and the third group of bristles (13c) being arranged along the toothbrush head body (11) in a plane (BB) (11) Are arranged in a row and spaced apart from each other, each bristle tuft of the second and third sets of bristles (13b, 13c) being disposed obliquely to the outside with respect to the plane (P) such that the gap between the second and third sets of bristles (13b, 13c) and the first set of bristles (13a) increases progressively in a direction away from the head body (11) along the plane (P).

8. The toothbrush head (5) of claim 6, characterized in that the bristles (13) further comprise a fourth group of bristles (13d) arranged at an end of the head body (11) remote from the handle (3), the fourth group of bristles (13d) comprising at least one row of arcuately arranged bristle tufts.
9. The toothbrush head (5) of claim 8, characterized in that each bristle tuft of the fourth group of bristles (13d) is arranged obliquely outwardly with respect to the centre of the arc.
