The case 10 is formed by combining a first case 11 on the upper side and a second case 12 on the lower side. Fig. 2 is a partial sectional view showing a joint 100 of an air cleaner 200 in a state where a first filter element 71 is mounted in a case 10. As shown in fig. 2, the first filter element 71 includes a first filter main body 81 and a first seal member 91.
The first filter main body 81 has a filter unit (not shown) for purifying air. The filter portion provided in the first filter element 71 employs a filter paper element. In addition, the first filter body 81 has a first side surface 85. In a state where the first filter element 71 is disposed in the case 10, the first side surface 85 faces the side wall 16 of the second case 12.
The first seal member 91 is configured such that one end of the body portion 95 is joined to the upper end portion of the first side surface 85 of the first filter body 81, the other end of the body portion 95 extends obliquely upward outside the first filter body 81, and a sheet portion extending from one end of the body portion 95 covers the outer end portion of the upper surface of the first filter body 81. In addition, the first sealing member 91 is made of an elastic material, such as a polyurethane material.

When the first filter element 71 is disposed in the case 10, the upper portion of the first seal member 91 is pressed from above by the first flange 17 and the first flange 41, respectively; the first flange 17 and the second flange 18 are fastened and connected by a fastener (not shown) in a state where the second flange 18 and the second flange 42 are pressed against the lower portion of the first seal member 91 from below. Accordingly, the first cartridge 71 is connected to the first case 11 and the second case 12 by the first sealing member 91 at the joint 100, and the first opening 21 of the first case 11 and the second opening 22 of the second case 12 are hermetically sealed by the first sealing member 91.
In addition, a downwardly-depending wall is formed on the outer end edge of the first flange 17 and the outer end edge of the second flange 18, respectively, and the downwardly-depending wall of the first flange 17 extends up to the vicinity of the outer end edge of the second flange 18, thereby covering a space formed between the first flange 17 and the second flange 18, in which the first seal member 91 is accommodated.
In addition, in a state where the first filter 71 is disposed in the case 10, there is a gap between the first side surface 85 of the first filter 71 and the side wall 16 of the second case 12, and therefore the side wall 16 of the second case 12 does not interfere with the first side surface 85 of the first filter 71.
Fig. 3 is a partial sectional view showing a joint 100 of an air cleaner 200 in a state where the second filter element 72 is mounted in the case 10. The cassette 10 shown in fig. 3 is the same cassette as the cassette 10 shown in fig. 2, but the second cartridge 72 shown in fig. 3 is different in construction from the first cartridge 71 shown in fig. 2. As shown in fig. 3, the second filter element 72 includes a second filter main body 82 and a second seal unit 92.
The second filter main body 82 has a filter portion (not shown) for purifying air. The filter part provided in the second filter element 72 is a nonwoven fabric core. The second filter main body 82 includes a second side surface 87, a third side surface 89, and a support portion 96 extending outward (leftward in fig. 3) from between the second side surface 87 and the third side surface 89. In a state where the second cartridge 72 is disposed in the case 10, the second side surface 87 faces the side wall 15 of the first case 11, and the third side surface 89 faces the side wall 16 of the second case 12. The second side 87 is spaced apart from the sidewall 15 of the first container 11, and the third side 89 is spaced apart from the sidewall 16 of the second container 12. Therefore, in the state where the second cartridge 72 is disposed in the case 10, the side wall 15 of the first case 11 does not interfere with the second side surface 87, and the side wall 16 of the second case 12 does not interfere with the third side surface 89.
The second sealing unit 92 includes a support portion 96 and a gasket (second sealing member) 99.
The support portion 96 includes a first bypass portion 97 extending perpendicularly outward from the side surface of the second filter main body 82, and a second bypass portion 98 extending outward in parallel with the first bypass portion 97 after being bent upward from the first bypass portion 97.
The second bypass portion 98 is embedded in a gasket 99, and is supported by the gasket 99 between the first flange 17 of the first case 11 and the second flange 18 of the second case 12.
The spacer 99 is made of an elastic material, such as a rubber material.
In a state where the second filter element 72 is disposed in the case 10, the first bypass portion 97 extends from the side surface of the second filter main body 82 to the opening portion without contacting the first flange 41 of the first case 11; the second detour 98 extends without contacting the second flange 42 of the second container 12 and is embedded in the gasket 99.
That is, when the second filter element 72 is disposed in the case 10, the support portion 96 is disposed in the space between the first flange 17 and the second flange 18 via the gasket 99 in a state where the bent portion (the portion where the first bent portion 97 and the second bent portion 98 are connected) is positioned in the opening between the first flange 41 and the second flange 42, and the upper side of the gasket 99 is pressed from above against the first flange 17; the first flange 17 and the second flange 18 are fastened by a fastener in a state where the second flange 18 is pressed against the lower side of the gasket 99 from below. Accordingly, the second cartridge 72 is connected to the first case 11 and the second case 12 at the joint 100 by the gasket 99, and the first opening 21 of the first case 11 and the second opening 22 of the second case 12 are hermetically sealed by the gasket 99. In addition, the hanging wall of the first flange 17 covers a space formed between the first flange 17 and the second flange 18 from the outside and accommodating the gasket 99 and the support portion 96.
When the first filter element 71 is mounted in the case 10, the first flange 41 and the second flange 42 function to press the first seal member 91, and when the second filter element 72 is mounted in the case 10, the first flange 41 and the second flange 42 do not function, but the first bypass portion 97 and the second bypass portion 98 of the support portion 96 are configured in a shape that is not obstructed by the first flange 41 and the second flange 42 when the second filter element 72 is mounted in the case 10, and therefore, the second filter element 72 can be mounted in the case 10.
Further, since the spacer 99 supports the support portion 96 on the outer side of the first flange 41 and the second flange 42, the first flange 41 and the second flange 42 do not interfere with the spacer 99.
As described above, the air cleaner 200 of the present embodiment can use two kinds of filter elements, i.e., the first filter element 71 and the second seal unit 92. The first cartridge 71 and the second sealing unit 92 are different in the structure of the portion connected to the case 10, but the structure of the joint 100 of the case 10 in the present embodiment corresponds to both the first cartridge 71 and the second cartridge 72. That is, since both the first filter element 71 and the second filter element 72 can be provided in the same box 10, the box 10 does not need to be replaced when the filter element is replaced with a different type of filter element.
The present invention is not limited to the above embodiments, and can be modified as appropriate. For example, in the present embodiment, an example in which a paper filter core or a nonwoven fabric core is used as the filter element in the filter unit is described, but the filter element is not limited to this, and other materials may be used for the filter unit. The first filter body 81 and the second filter body 82 may have other shapes.

with the first filter cartridge installed in the cassette body, the first flange and the first flange abut against one side of the first seal member, respectively, and the second flange abut against the other side of the first seal member, respectively;
in a case where the second filter element is mounted in the box body, the support portion is disposed between the first flange and the second flange with the second seal member interposed therebetween in a state where the bent portion thereof is positioned in the opening portion, the first flange abuts against one side of the second seal member, the second flange abuts against the other side of the second seal member,
