When the fresh air inlet 106 is controlled by the air valve to communicate with the external environment, on one hand, air from the indoor enters the outdoor unit 10 through the return air inlet 104, and exchanges heat with a heat exchange medium in the indoor heat exchanger 105; on the other hand, air in the external environment (i.e., fresh air or fresh air) enters the outdoor unit 10 through the fresh air inlet 106, and exchanges heat with a heat exchange medium in the indoor heat exchanger 105. in a second operation mode, the fresh air opening 106 is opened (i.e. the fresh air opening 106 is communicated with the external environment), the indoor air supply box 12, the indoor air return box 11 and the compressor 103, the indoor heat exchanger 105, the circulating fan 109, the outdoor heat exchanger 102 and the outdoor fan 101 in the outdoor unit 10 are all opened, and the indoor air purification function, the indoor fresh air (i.e. improving the freshness of the indoor air) function and the indoor temperature adjustment function of the household air conditioner are all opened, so that the household air conditioner can be used as an air conditioner with both air purification and fresh air;
in a third operation mode, the fresh air inlet 106 is closed (i.e. the fresh air inlet 106 is not communicated with the external environment), the indoor air supply box 12, the indoor air return box 11 and the compressor 103, the indoor heat exchanger 105 and the circulating fan 109 in the outdoor unit 10 are all opened, and the indoor air supply box 12, the indoor air return box 11, the compressor 103, the indoor heat exchanger 105 and the circulating fan 109 operate at a load smaller than that in the first operation mode, so that the household air conditioner can be used as a dehumidifier;
in the fourth operation mode, the fresh air inlet 106 is closed, the indoor air supply box 12, the indoor air return box 11 and the circulating fan 109 in the outdoor unit 10 are all opened, and the indoor air conditioner is only opened for indoor air purification and can be used as an air purifier;
in a fifth operation mode, the fresh air inlet 106 is opened, the indoor air supply box 12, the indoor air return box 11 and the circulating fan 109 in the outdoor unit 10 are all opened, and the fresh air purification function of the household air conditioner is opened, so that the household air conditioner can be used as a fresh air purification ventilator;
