Description

Chin guard, helmet and system thereof
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a helmet with a chin guard, which can be used in particular as a bicycle helmet, for protecting other parts of the face, in particular the chin and the teeth, in addition to the upper part of the head of the user. Thereby, the user may be better protected from injury in case of a collision.
Background
Until now, helmets have been commonly used in many sports, especially for motorcycling, hockey, skiing and bicycling. Helmets with chin or face protection have long been known for hockey players.
In other sports in recent times, it has become increasingly important to protect the parts of the face other than the upper part of the head, in particular the chin, so that the user can also be better protected from accidental injuries that may occur in case of a collision. Since the safety of the chin guard is drastically improved for bicycle riding for traveling on mountainous or mountain bikes although the helmet with the chin guard is not always necessary or desired by the user for ordinary riding on the street, there is a need for a helmet having a chin guard that can be fixed and easily detached from the helmet.
For example, in prior art EP 2816917B 1, a helmet with a detachable chin guard is disclosed, wherein the helmet shell has a portion for connection with the chin guard. However, in this prior art system, the chin guard must be installed and removed by means of a small lever, which is furthermore located under the visor of the helmet and is not easily accessible from the outside.
Furthermore, european patent application EP 2191738 a2 describes a detachable chin protection element for a helmet, wherein the connection between the helmet and the chin protection element is arranged on the inside of the helmet. The attachment means generally consists of a hook on the chin guard and a pin on the helmet. An operating device which can release the hook is arranged on the inner side of the edge of the helmet.
The prior art helmets with chin protectors have drawbacks in practical use, since both the mounting and dismounting of the chin protector is cumbersome and sometimes even the helmet has to be removed for this purpose.
SUMMERY OF THE UTILITY MODEL
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a helmet with a chin guard that is easy to operate.
Furthermore, an object of the utility model is to improve the security of the connection between helmet and chin protection piece, make it can not become flexible when the accident collision takes place to can not follow the helmet from the chin protection piece drops when the collision, and then show the safety that improves helmet wearer.
This object is achieved by a system according to the invention comprising a helmet and a chin protection element, according to the invention a helmet, and according to the invention a chin protection element is realized. This is also achieved by further advantageous embodiments according to the invention.
The present invention comprises a system consisting of a helmet and a chin protection element, wherein the chin protection element can be detached from the outside of the helmet-in other words, the helmet can be fitted with the chin protection element or subsequently removed without having to be removed from the head of the user.
On the outer side of the chin guard is mounted a key, which may further preferably be of ergonomic design. By operating the key, the system including the helmet and the chin guard can be brought into the unlocked state, and the chin guard can be detached from the helmet.
The helmet has at least one connection on its underside, by means of which the chin guard can be fastened to the helmet. The at least one connection portion of the helmet comprises at least one first recess and at least one second recess, wherein at least one protrusion is arranged on the at least second recess.
An orifice plate is disposed on both sides of the chin guard, the orifice plate being formed integrally with the key and further having at least one orifice. The aperture is adapted to engage with at least one projection of the connecting portion of the helmet in the locked condition.
Furthermore, at least one projection is arranged on both sides of the chin protection element. The projection is adapted to engage with at least one first recess of the connecting portion of the helmet.
Preferably, an orifice plate is arranged between the sides of the chin guard and in the cover plate, wherein the cover plate is preferably fixed to the chin guard by fastening means (more preferably bolts). More preferably, a spring is provided between the cover plate and the orifice plate. The spring presses the perforated plate against the side of the chin guard with a certain pretension.
Such a helmet is particularly suitable for use as a bicycle helmet, as it may be used without chin guard when riding in a normal city, and with chin guard when travelling on a mountain bike. The utility model has the advantages of, when unloading chin protection piece, no longer need take off the helmet, further, helmet and chin protection piece can break away from each other in the shortest time.
Furthermore, the flexibility of fine movement of the fingers is no longer required as is necessary in prior art systems. This is a significant advantage in cases where the finger joints are stiff due to cold or limited in movement due to gloving.
Furthermore, the system is safer than the prior art, due to the presence of multiple fastening mechanisms that improve safety by improving the connection between the helmet and the chin guard. In the present system, not only can the protrusion of the chin protection member engage with the recess of the helmet, but also the at least one aperture of the aperture plate of the chin protection member can securely surround the at least one protrusion fixed to the connecting means of the helmet. In this way, the chin guard is safely connected to the helmet not only in the vertical direction but also in the horizontal direction without the risk of the connection being released in the event of a fall.
Furthermore, the system according to the invention comprising a helmet and a chin guard has the following advantages: most of the means for fixing the chin guard to the helmet (orifice plate, protrusions, keys) are arranged on the chin guard itself. If the user falls and the means for securing the chin protection member to the helmet is damaged or destroyed, the user can simply purchase a new chin protection member as a replacement, wherein the chin protection member is less expensive than the helmet. In terms of simple and cost-effective alternatives, it is also expedient to use mechanically sensitive means on the chin protection element for the fixing of the chin protection element. Thus, the entire helmet need not be replaced, but only the chin guard, which makes the replacement solution less expensive after an accidental fall.
Drawings
Preferred embodiments will be further described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 is an isometric view of a helmet having a chin guard, wherein the helmet is connected to the chin guard in this state.
Fig. 2 is a partial view of the connection of the helmet and the chin protection member, in which state the chin protection member is not connected to the helmet.
Fig. 3 is an exploded view of the entire system, with details of the individual components and assemblies of the chin protector shown here in particular.
Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a system comprising a helmet 1 and a chin guard 2, wherein these two parts are connected to each other. Here it is clear that the chin guard 2 is mounted in the lower part of the helmet shell. Furthermore, a key 4 arranged on the chin guard 2 is shown. The push button 4 is located at the edge of the chin guard 2, but is also located at a position that is easy to reach, so that the user can easily reach it with his hand or fingers. Furthermore, the keys are sufficiently large to be well operable even when the glove is worn.
Fig. 2 shows a detailed view of the connection between the helmet 1 and the chin guard 2. Here, it is clear that the connection 3 is provided on the underside of the helmet 1. In this embodiment, the connecting portion 3 includes two first recesses 3 a. Between these two first recesses 3a, an intermediate second recess 3b is arranged, which second recess 3b has a different shape than the first recess 3 a. Further, two projections 3c are provided in the second recess 3b, and the two projections 3c project from the side wall of the second recess 3 b.
It is clear from the chin guard 2 that two protrusions 6 are arranged on the rear upper side thereof, which protrusions 6 are adapted to be able to engage with the two first recesses 3a of the helmet 1.
In fig. 3 all the components and assemblies of the system consisting of the helmet 1 and the chin guard 2 are shown. The connection 3 on the helmet 1 is also partially shown.
It is clear for the connecting portion 3 that two protrusions 6 are arranged at its rear upper end, which protrusions 6 are adapted to engage with two first recesses 3a of the helmet 1, as shown in fig. 2.
It is also clear that an orifice plate 5 is mounted on the chin guard 2, which orifice plate 5 is formed integrally with the push button 4. The orifice plate 5 has in this case two holes 5a and is pressed against the chin guard 2 by a spring 7. The spring is in turn accommodated by a cover plate 8, which cover plate 8 is fixed to the chin guard 2 by means of two bolts 9. The orifice plate 5 is inclined at its end remote from the chin guard 2.
The keys 4 are arranged in the mounted state in the recesses 10 of the chin guard 2.
The locking mechanism works as follows:
in the locked state, the two protrusions 6 of the chin guard engage with the two first recesses 3a of the helmet.
At the same time, the orifice plate 5 of the chin guard 2 engages with the second recess 3b of the helmet 1. Wherein the two holes 5a of the orifice plate 5 surround the two protrusions 3c of the connecting portion 3 of the helmet 1. It can thus be established that in the locked state the chin guard 2 is not movable in any direction relative to the helmet 1.
Disengaging the chin guard may be performed as follows: by pressing the push button 4 from the outside, the aperture 5a of the aperture plate 5, which is integrally connected to the push button 4, is released from its locking position in the two projections 3c of the helmet 1, so that the chin guard 2 can be detached from the helmet 1. At this time, the two protrusions 6 of the chin guard 2 are also pushed out from the corresponding first recesses 3a of the connecting portion 3 of the helmet 1.
The mounting of the chin protection member 2 to the helmet 1 will also be described below: the chin guard 2 is first placed on the helmet 1 so that the two protrusions 6 rest on the two first recesses 3 a.
Since the perforated plate 5 is inclined at its end remote from the chin guard 2, the perforated plate 5 overcomes the pretensioning force of the spring 7 and lifts off the chin guard 2 at the latest when it hits the two projections 3c during the further insertion into the second recess 3 b. Subsequently, since the orifice plate 5 is on the upper side of the bulge 3c, the chin guard 2 can be further pushed into the connecting portion 3 of the helmet, so that the two protrusions 6 are also engaged with the two first recesses 3 a. As soon as the two holes 5a of the perforated plate 5 are located directly above the projections 3c, the spring 7 can again release its pretensioning and press the perforated plate 5 downwards, so that subsequently the two holes 5a of the perforated plate 5 engage with the two projections 3c of the connection 3 of the helmet 1.
Further embodiments
The present invention is not limited to the above embodiments.
For example, any number of apertured plates and protrusions may be provided, and correspondingly, the attachment portion 3 of the helmet should also be adjusted accordingly.
The disclosure of the present application should not only be used for systems comprising a helmet and a chin protection element, but also be valid individually for the helmet and the chin protection element, respectively.
