Description

Cup holder assembly for holding beverage cups
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a cup holder assembly for holding beverage cups, and more particularly, to a cup holder assembly that is particularly adapted to hold disposable beverage cups and is separable into individual cup holders.
Background
Beverage stores around the world typically use disposable drinking cups to fill beverages. Such beverage cups are placed in packaging (e.g., plastic bags, paper bags, etc.) for the takeover provided in the store when the takeover is carried over. When placed in such a package, the beverage cups are typically placed on a cup holder that conforms to the shape of the package to prevent the beverage cups from wobbling in the package. In other words, the cup holder may be used to securely hold the beverage cup in the package. However, it is common in stores to provide a number of different sizes of such packages, for example a paper bag containing one drinking cup and a paper bag containing two drinking cups, to meet the demands of customers for different quantities of beverages. However, when a plurality of beverage cups are put into a paper bag that can accommodate two paper cups together with their respective cup holders, it may be difficult for the plurality of beverage cups to maintain a posture parallel to each other during transportation of the paper bag, and thus, collision, toppling, or the like may occur with each other in the bag; however, providing a cup holder that can hold two or more beverage cups separately increases the variety of cup holders to be equipped in beverage stores, and a user cannot temporarily separate the cup holder into two for separate use or transportation, which is inconvenient.
Accordingly, there is a need to provide a cup holder assembly for holding a beverage cup that a user can easily separate into individual cup holders and that has a robust structure for securely holding the beverage cup, whether the cup holder assembly or the individual cup holders. Therefore, a user can select the cup holder assemblies for a plurality of beverage cups or the independent cup holders at any time according to different requirements of the number of the beverage cups so as to adapt to packages containing the beverage cups in different sizes.

TABLE 1
It is to be noted that for ease of understanding, it is assumed that the cup holder described in the following embodiments is placed on a horizontal plane, and therefore references to directions "upper" or "top", "lower" or "bottom" in the following text refer to the side of the cup holder facing the beverage cup and the side facing away from the beverage cup, respectively. Of course, when the cup holder is placed on a non-horizontal plane, the positional relationship among the components is subject to the actual orientation.
Fig. 1-6 illustrate a cup holder assembly 10 for holding a beverage cup according to one embodiment of the present invention. The cup holder assembly 10 includes two cup holders 100 and a connecting plate 200 connecting the two cup holders 100. In some embodiments, the cup holder assembly 10 can also include three or more cup holders 100, and the connecting plate 200 connects adjacent cup holders 100. Three or more cup holders 100 may be arranged in a plurality of rows, and adjacent cup holders 100 in each row and corresponding cup holders 100 in adjacent rows may be connected by a connecting plate 200. From the viewpoint of easy detachment, it is preferable that the cup holders 100 are arranged only in one row. The cup holder assembly 10 (i.e., each cup holder 100 and the web 200 between the cup holders) may be integrally formed to reduce the number of manufacturing steps. The material of the cup holder assembly 100 may be a plastic material such as polyurethane, a paper material, etc.
Each of the cup holders 100 is configured and adapted to hold a single beverage cup. The connection panel 200 is provided with a tear line 210. The web 200 is divided into two web portions 211,212 which are each connected to an adjacent cup holder 100 when the tear line 210 is broken. Because the connecting plate 200 is adopted to connect the adjacent cup holders 100, and the strength of the easy-to-tear line 210 is weak, when the cup holder assembly is used as a whole, the connecting plate 200 may be bent, so that the cup holder assembly is not stable enough, and particularly when the cup holder assembly is placed in packages such as paper bags. For this, as shown in fig. 5, the connecting plate 200 is designed to have a wave-like (or called undulated) sectional shape in a section perpendicular to a direction connecting the adjacent cup holders 100 (i.e., a left-right direction in fig. 2). The wavy cross-sectional shape can ensure that the cup holder assembly has enough stability and is not easy to bend when the cup holder assembly is used as a whole, and meanwhile, the difficulty of tearing the easy-to-tear line by a user cannot be increased.
In use, a user (e.g., a clerk of a beverage shop) can conveniently hold any number of beverage cups using the entire cup holder assembly 10, a single cup holder 100 removed from the cup holder assembly 10 by the tear line 210, or a sub-cup holder assembly removed by the tear line 210 to accommodate different needs (e.g., into different sized paper bags). The web 210 between the cups 100 of the cup holder assembly 10 or sub-cup holder assembly has a wavy cross-sectional shape such that adjacent beverage cups are less likely to topple or collide with respect to one another when the beverage cups are transported by hand, paper bags or the like. In addition, upon reaching the destination, the user (e.g., a customer) can readily use the tear line 210 to separate the cup holder assembly 10 into individual cup holders 100 for ease of use.
Each cup holder 100 can include a body portion 110 and a flange portion 120. The body portion includes a bottom 111 and a peripheral wall 112. The peripheral wall 112 has a first end 113 (i.e., a bottom end) and a second end 114 (i.e., a top end) in the axial direction. The bottom 111 is located at a first end 113 of the peripheral wall 112, and the bottom 111 is surrounded by the peripheral wall 112. The flange portion 120 extends from the second end 114 of the peripheral wall 112 in an outward direction of the cup holder 100 to at least partially surround the main body portion 110. In some embodiments, the flange portion 120 may be stepped.
The web 200 may be connected at each end to the flange portion 120 of an adjacent cup holder 100 to stabilize the flange portion of the cup holder furthest from the bottom. Where the cup holder assembly 10 is integrally formed, the web 200 may smoothly transition to the flange portion 120, or the web 200 may be directly formed as part of the flange portion 120 of an adjacent cup holder 100.
Of course, the two ends of the connecting plate 200 can be connected to any height of the main body 120 of the adjacent cup holder 100.
The inner wall surface of the peripheral wall 112 of the main body part 110 may have a support structure 115 protruding toward the inside of the main body part 110 to firmly hold the beverage cup by applying an elastic force thereto. The peripheral wall 112 of the body portion 110 may be configured to taper from the second end 114 to the first end 113 to fit the shape of the beverage cup.
The outer wall of the peripheral wall 112 of the body portion 110 may have or approximate to a regular polygon shape, a rounded regular polygon shape, a curved regular polygon shape, a cross shape, a quincunx shape, or the like in a cross section (i.e., a sectional view in plan view) perpendicular to the axial direction of the peripheral wall 112. The number of sides of the regular polygon shape, the rounded regular polygon shape, or the arc-sided regular polygon shape is preferably 4. In other words, the outer wall of the peripheral wall 112 of the main body portion 110 may have or approximate a square shape, a rounded square shape, a square shape with rounded edges, or a cross shape in a top view, a bottom view, or a cross-sectional view, which may effectively prevent the beverage cup from tipping over when held in the cup holder.
The cup holder 100 may be centrosymmetric in cross-section (i.e., a cross-sectional view from above) perpendicular to the axial direction of the peripheral wall 112 to maintain the beverage cup in the cup holder at or near the geometric center of the cup holder, thereby improving the stability of the beverage cup held in the cup holder.
The cup holder 100 is provided with at least one aperture 116 in the peripheral wall 112 and/or the base 111 to facilitate deformation of the peripheral wall 112 when a beverage cup contacts the peripheral wall 112, thereby facilitating the cup holder to fit beverage cups of different sizes. As shown in fig. 1 to 6, the opening 116 is preferably continuously formed at the lower portion of the supporting structure 115 of the peripheral wall 112 and the bottom 111 of the cup holder 100.
Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail by way of examples, it is apparent that various modifications and adaptations of the present invention may occur to those skilled in the art. Furthermore, the embodiments of the invention should not be construed as limited only by the examples or figures, but rather should be understood to include: such modifications and adaptations are within the scope of the present invention as set forth in the following claims. Thus, it is intended that the present invention cover the modifications and variations of this invention provided they come within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents.
