Claims (10)

1. A rotatable sensor for commodity theft prevention is characterized in that,
comprises a sensing head and a cable which are connected with each other,
the sensing head is configured to be directly or indirectly connectable and/or attachable to an article of merchandise,
the cable includes a connector operably connectable to the sensor head and configured to be rotatable relative to the sensor head and to maintain electrical connection with the sensor head when the connector is in a connected state with the sensor head;
the rotatable sensor is configured to be operably connectable to a monitoring device capable of issuing a security signal or alarm when an article of merchandise is removed and/or the cable is disconnected and/or the connector is separated from the sensor head.
2. The rotatable sensor of claim 1, wherein the sensor head comprises an interface for connecting to a connector.
3. The rotatable sensor of claim 2, wherein the connector is circular in cross-section and is configured to couple to and rotate relative to the interface.
4. The rotatable sensor of claim 1, wherein at least one electrical path exists between the connector and the sensor head when the connector and the sensor head are coupled and/or rotated relative to each other.
5. A rotatable sensor according to claim 3, wherein electrical contacts are provided on the connector and/or the sensor head.
6. The rotatable sensor of claim 1, wherein the sensor head comprises a charging head connectable to a charging interface of the article.
7. The rotatable sensor of claim 1, wherein the sensor head comprises a backing or bonding member configured to be attachable to a surface of an article.
8. The rotatable sensor of claim 1, wherein the cable includes a cable guard.
9. A rotatable sensor for theft protection of an article as claimed in claim 1, wherein the sensor further comprises a connection protection means for preventing the cable from slipping off.
10. The rotatable sensor of claim 1, further comprising an indicator light for indicating an operational status.
