Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of headwear articles, and in particular to the field of elastic fabric loops commonly referred to as "hair bands".
Background
Australian patent application 2004100092 discloses a "scented hair band" in which an absorbent material of scented oil or perfume is added to the interior of the hair band.
While this product has proven to be both popular and effective, there are some limitations to its use. The product has a limited life due to the scent dissipating over time. When a product spends a relatively long time in transport or storage or is displayed for a long time in a store, its effective life after purchase by a purchaser is greatly reduced.
In addition, when a large number of scented hair strips are sold, the cumulative effect of the released scent may become an issue.
The present invention aims to provide a hair band with fragrance which at least partially solves these problems of the prior art.
Disclosure of Invention
An aspect of the present invention provides a hair band formed of an elastic fabric tube, comprising a fragile container located inside the elastic fabric tube, the fragile container being filled with an easily absorbable material, the absorbable material being added with scented oil or perfume.
Preferably, the frangible container is a bag.
More preferably, the bag is made of paper. The paper is lined with a water impermeable material, such as foil.
On the other hand the utility model provides a method for making hair band become fragrant, which comprises the following steps: a fragile container is arranged inside the hair band; the frangible container contains an easily absorbable material to which a scented oil or fragrance is added; the frangible container is torn to release the fragrance.
Drawings
While the preferred embodiments of the invention have been described in order to facilitate further description of the invention, other embodiments are possible, and it is to be understood that the particularity of the following discussion is not to be understood as superseding the generality of the preceding description. The invention will be further explained with reference to the drawings and examples, wherein:
fig. 1 is a photograph of a hair band of the present invention;
FIG. 2 is a schematic view of the bag inside the hair band of FIG. 1;
fig. 3 is a schematic view of the interior of the bag of fig. 2.
Detailed Description
Referring to fig. 1-3, a hair band 10 is shown. The hair band 10 is formed from a tube of elastic fabric 12 which includes an inner elastic strip (not shown). The elastic bands are used to increase the elasticity of the hair band.
A frangible container consisting of a bag 20 is located inside the tube of resilient fabric 12. Preferentially, the method comprises the following steps: the bag 20 is sealed at both ends 22 for forming a sealed paper tube. The paper may be plasticized or foil-lined. Also, the bag 20 may be constructed directly from a water-impermeable frangible material.
The bag 20 contains a particulate absorbent material 24 which has been impregnated with a scented oil or fragrance. Preferably, the particulate absorbent material is substantially spherical particles having a diameter of 2-3 mm.
The bag 20 may be filled and sealed in a manner similar to the readily available candy wrapper.
Preferably, the pocket 20 is introduced into the hair band 10 before the final seam of the hair band 10 is sewn. The bag 20 may then be manipulated (e.g., by shaking) into the center of the tube of resilient fabric 12.
When a user wishes to release the fragrance, the bag 20 may be torn through the resilient fabric tube 12 and the fragrance in the scented absorbent material is released into the resilient fabric tube 12 so that the fragrance may be released through the resilient fabric tube 12.
It will be appreciated that retaining the absorbent material within the bag maintains freshness of the scent and provides a product with a longer shelf life.
The above description is only for the preferred embodiment of the present invention, and is not intended to limit the present invention, and any modifications, equivalent replacements, improvements, etc. made within the spirit and principle of the present invention should be included within the protection scope of the present invention.
