传统的画都是在画布或者画纸上进行创作，一张画布或者画纸也只有一幅完整的画面，而且这个画面也只是一个平面画，属于二维平面。平面画缺少立体感，为了得到立体的画感，新出现了一个3D画，利用人们两眼视觉差别和光学折射原理在一个平面内使人们可直接看到一幅三维立体画，3D立体画是模拟人眼看世界的原理，利用光学折射制作出来，它可以使眼睛感观上看到物体的上下、左右、前后三维关系。二维平面画在正面欣赏的时候画面比较完整，视觉感受比较清楚，但是当视角与画面呈一个斜角时，二维平面画存在失真的现象。3D画具有立体的三维视觉效果，但也会存在一个欣赏的视角范围，如果超出这个范围，虽然能欣赏到画面，但是缺少了画面随视角变化而产生的实景变化效果。
