使用时，在黑暗中测量时启动环形LED灯2，手握绝缘笔杆9按住手触电极8，用测量笔头6测量，测电笔显示灯3提示有电或者无电，电压显示器4显示有电时候的电压，温度显示器5显示环境温度，测量电子元件7完成温度和电压的测量，防滑橡胶10可以防止测电笔从手中滑落。
