目前，餐厅、酒楼供餐时，要么由服务员用手端菜，要么用较大的的餐车供餐。服务员用手端菜只能端距离较近且不烫手的菜，而餐车只能供大型的酒楼且人行道较宽，菜品较多时的餐厅送餐，而我们的中小型的餐馆，由于空间较小，餐车不能用，大多数都是用手端菜，遇到刚煮好的汤，再烫也得给客人端去，有时要端两三样菜，服务员也得一样一样的送去，这样既费时又费力。有时还很烫手。
