人类睡眠时间约占人一生的三分之一的时间，因此良好的睡眠时人们保证自身健康的前提。由于枕头内的枕芯一般都是由棉等弹性填充物构成，清洗非常不方便，因此在使用枕头时往往同时使用枕头套。现有的枕头套结构简单，一般由布制成，直接铺在枕头表面上或者通过背面的连接绳将枕头固定在其下面。睡眠时人与枕头套直接接触，睡眠过程中口鼻和皮肤呼吸所排泄出来的污浊气体、口水和汗液都附在枕头套上，同时头皮分泌的油垢等对枕头套的污染也很严重，而现有的枕头套存在结构简单，容易滋生细菌产生异味等不足之处。
