为了克服一般的电源插头人们容易接触到插头上的金属电极发生触电的现象的不足，本实用新型的目的是提供一种安全电源插头，该安全电源插头能通过绝缘护套的保护作用实现安全用电的目的。
本实用新型解决其技术问题所采用的技术方案是：一种安全电源插头，包括绝缘手柄、金属电极，其特征是：所述的金属电极外套有绝缘护套，绝缘护套内装有弹簧，弹簧上端固定在绝缘手柄内，弹簧的下端卡在绝缘护套中部内侧的凸起挡板上。
本实用新型的有益效果是当使用该安全电源插头插入插座时，绝缘护套会随着金属电极的插入逐渐退入绝缘手柄，从插座中拔出时，绝缘护套在弹簧的作用下又重新逐渐把金属电极遮住，绝缘护套始终把插头上裸露的金属电极遮住，有利于安全用电，特别是对老人和儿童起到了保护作用。
