技术背景
现在的电动车电源充电器种类繁多，常用的充电器都是一端为插电源的插头，另一端是插电池的插头，但大都却存在着电池充满后，电池仍处于被动的浮充状态，充电器和被充电池很容易因过量充电而损毁或减少使用寿命，同时也浪费能源。上述充电器的充电线长度一般在2-3米，这种充电器给居住在楼房层次较高的使用者造成了不便和困难，而且还会在充电时，因充电器长时间放在室外容易丢失。
发明内容
为了克服上述现有技术存在的缺点，本实用新型的目的在于提供一种定时充电器，能够防止连接在充电器上的电池过充。
本实用新型的技术方案是：它包括外壳、电源线及插头、充电器本体和充电线及插头，其特征在于：在外壳上设有定时器，定时器的电源输入端和输出端串接于电源线路中。所述定时器可以是机械式发条定时器，也可以是电子定时器。
外壳上还设有电源及充电状态指示灯及短路保护器，指示灯及短路保护器均与充电器本体电连接，在充电线及插头之间还可以设有插头转换接头及延长线接头，使充电线加长，充电线长的长度加长至20-40米，给居住在楼房层次较高的使用者用；这样就可以将电动车充电器放在家中，根据需要，使用不同的插头转换接头及延长线接头给楼下的电动车充电。
本实用新型结构简单，成本低廉，延长了充电器和电池的使用寿命，节约了能源。
