其原理是：当太阳能热水器上满水后，从溢流管流出的水流至水杯，水杯重量逐渐增加，直到水杯重量达到关闭水阀的重量时，水阀自动关闭，关闭的同时，水杯里的水流到储水箱内，储水箱底部的放水口，外接水管连接至抽水马桶的水箱里，达到了水资源的合理利用。
