Background
The meaning of the pulse-ended signal I-15 is the end of number, and the ITU-T (international Telecommunication union-telecommunications working group) specifies the main usage scenarios of this signal: in an international call, the signal I-15 needs to be sent immediately following the last bit; in the semi-automatic system, calls to the operator's seat must be terminated at I-15; the signal I15 may be used to indicate the end of the number during a national call.
With the development of the communication field, a framework with separated bearing and control is adopted in the next generation network NGN and the third generation mobile communication 3G network, under the framework, number resources are stored on a media gateway controller MGC, while a media gateway MGW does not store the number resources, and the media gateway is mainly responsible for sending and receiving numbers.
For example, as shown in fig. 1, the media gateway controller communicates with the media gateway according to h.248 protocol, and R2 packet is used as register signaling to interact between the media gateway and the media gateway controller. In this case, after the B side of the MGW2 completes one r2/r2addr process, it is unknown whether the MGC will continue to issue new DI to itself, that is, the MGW2 cannot know whether the received called number is complete, so the MGW2 cannot judge whether the pulse termination signal I15 should be sent to the MGW3 of the opposite end, which results in an extension of call connection time, which affects user experience, and reduces the satisfaction of the user to the operator.
