Description

Paging message processing method and device
Technical Field
The present invention relates to wireless communication technologies, and in particular, to a method and an apparatus for processing a paging message.
Background
Fig. 1 is a diagram illustrating an access network structure of a broadband wireless access (Wimax) system. As shown in fig. 1, the physical entities mainly included in the access network are: a Base Station (BS) and an access network gateway (ASN-GW). Wherein a Mobile Station (MS) communicates directly with a BS, and an ASN-GW provides a service of accessing a Connection Service Network (CSN) to the MS through the BS. In the access network, since the MS is mobile, in order to save power and air interface resources, the MS is in idle mode without traffic data communication. In idle mode, the MS receives the paging message of the BS only in the time slot agreed with the ASN, and can be in idle state at other times. The time slot for receiving paging messages, which is predetermined by the MS and the ASN, is referred to herein as a paging time slot.
In the prior art, in order to better implement the paging function, the ASN network divides a plurality of BSs into different paging groups, and different MSs in the same paging group have the same paging slot. When a paging control center (PC) responsible for initiating paging needs to page a certain MS, the PC sends a paging message for the MS to a BS of a paging group in which the MS is located. In order to save wireless resources, the BS receiving the paging message does not immediately transmit the call message on the paging slot corresponding to the MS, but waits for a period of time, collects the paging messages that need to be transmitted on the same paging slot, and groups the paging messages on the same paging slot into empty paging messages, and then transmits the empty paging messages through the paging slot.
Fig. 2 is a structural diagram of the BS, which mainly includes: a control plane unit (CPM), a user plane Unit (UPM), and a radio frequency unit. The CPM is mainly used for processing control signaling of a wireless interface and control signaling of GW to control a high layer; the UPM is mainly used for real-time underlying processing of user data and signaling, including framing, scheduling, data transceiving, modulation and demodulation, grouping, and the like. When receiving a paging message aiming at a certain MS sent by a paging control center (PC), the CPM calculates a paging time slot corresponding to the MS of the paging message according to parameters carried in the paging message, and when reaching a period for sending the paging message, the CPM groups a plurality of received paging message aiming at the same paging time slot into an empty paging message and sends the empty paging message to the UPM for sending. When receiving an air interface paging message aiming at a certain paging time slot issued by the CPM, the UPM does not immediately send the air interface paging message on the corresponding paging time slot, but waits until the paging time slot corresponding to the air interface paging message arrives, and then sends the air interface paging message on the corresponding paging time slot through a radio frequency unit.
When one BS belongs to a plurality of paging groups, the CPM packages different paging time slots when the period for sending the paging message arrives, and sends the packaged empty paging message to the UPM. The UPM sends an air interface paging message on the corresponding paging time slot through the radio frequency unit when the corresponding paging time slot arrives.
In the prior art, because the UPM needs to wait for a paging slot corresponding to an air interface paging message to arrive, the air interface paging message sent by the CPM is sent on the slot. Therefore, the sending of a paging message not only needs to be issued to the UPM by the CPM when the sending cycle of the CPM arrives, but also needs to be sent to the MS by the BS after the UPM waits for the corresponding paging slot to arrive. Obviously, the processing method greatly increases the sending delay of the paging message, further increases the system delay, and seriously affects the working efficiency of the system.

Detailed Description
The core idea of the embodiment of the invention is as follows: grouping the paging messages received by the BS according to the paging time slots corresponding to the paging messages; and when determining that the paging message packet exists in the upcoming time slot, grouping the paging message packets in the packet into an air interface paging message, and sending the air interface paging message in the current arriving paging time slot.
In the embodiment of the invention, the paging messages grouped according to the paging time slots can be stored by adopting a mode of establishing different queues aiming at different paging time slots. Of course, other structures besides queues may be used to store paging messages in different packets.
When the BS receives a certain paging message, the paging time slot corresponding to the paging message is calculated and stored in the queue corresponding to the paging time slot. When the BS has not established a queue for a certain paging slot, it establishes a queue for the paging slot, which is referred to as a dynamic establishment method herein. Of course, a queue for storing paging messages may be established in advance for each time slot used by the BS, and when the BS receives a paging message corresponding to a certain paging time slot, the paging message is directly stored in the queue corresponding to the paging time slot, which is referred to as a preset method herein.
In the embodiment of the present invention, the received paging messages may be grouped by CPM in the BS, or may be grouped by UPM. However, since the UPM is responsible for managing the time slots used by the BS, and the UPM can obtain the use condition of the time slots in real time, the UPM needs to control the transmission of the paging information in the queue.
In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the present invention more apparent, the present invention will be further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings and two embodiments.
First embodiment
In this embodiment, a case where the UPM performs packet storage of a paging message received by the BS and controls transmission is described. Fig. 3 is a structural diagram of the apparatus of the embodiment, which includes: a control plane unit 31, a user plane unit 32, a storage unit 33 and a radio frequency unit 34.
The control plane unit 31 is configured to receive a paging message and send the paging message to the user plane unit 32.
A user plane unit 32, configured to receive the paging message sent by the control plane unit 31, and group the paging message according to the paging slot corresponding to the paging message and store the grouped paging message in the storage unit 33; and when determining that there is a paging message packet in the storage unit 33 in the upcoming time slot, grouping all paging message packets in the packet into an air interface paging message, and instructing the radio frequency unit 34 to send the air interface paging message in the time slot.
The user plane unit 32 may take out the paging message of the packet from the storage unit 33 and perform the group packing in the process of packing the paging message of the packet into the air interface paging message.
A storage unit 33 for storing the paging message.
And the radio frequency unit 34 is configured to send the air interface paging message according to an instruction of the user plane unit 32.
In the device structure of the present embodiment, a unit composed of a control plane unit and a user plane unit may be referred to as a processing unit. The processing unit is used for grouping the paging messages according to the paging time slots corresponding to the paging messages and storing the paging messages in the storage unit; when determining that a paging message packet exists in a storage unit in an upcoming time slot, grouping all paging message packets in the packet into an air interface paging message, and instructing a radio frequency unit to send the air interface paging message in the time slot.
In this embodiment, the process of processing the paging message includes: the UPM performs a process of grouping and storing the paging messages received by the BS and a process of controlling and transmitting the paging messages by the UPM, and the two processes are performed in parallel. These two processes are described separately below.
The flow of the UPM performing packet storage on the received paging message is shown in fig. 4, and includes the following steps. Here, it is described as an example that the paging message is stored in a queue, and the queue is established by using a method of dynamically establishing the queue.
Step 401: the CPM in the BS receives a paging message sent by the PC for a certain MS.
Step 402: and the CPM sends the paging message to the UPM.
Step 403: and after receiving the paging message sent by the CPM, the UPM calculates the paging time slot corresponding to the current paging message according to the paging parameters carried in the paging message.
Step 404: UPM searches whether there is a queue of the corresponding paging time slot according to the paging time slot, if yes, step 405 is executed; otherwise, step 406 is performed.
Step 405: and the UPM stores the currently received paging message into the search result queue. The current processing flow is ended.
Step 406: the UPM creates a queue for the current paging message and stores the current message into the created queue.
The process of UPM control transmission is as follows: in the process that the UPM performs grouping storage on paging messages received by the CPM, before each time slot is about to arrive, the UPM judges whether a queue corresponding to the transmission time slot which is about to arrive exists or not, if so, all paging messages in the corresponding queue are grouped into an air interface paging message to be broadcasted in the paging time slot which is about to arrive, and after the broadcasting is completed, the corresponding queue is deleted; otherwise, the current time slot to be arrived is not processed by sending the paging message.
In addition, when the UPM establishes the queue by using the preset method, the packet storage process executed by the UPM is different from the flow of fig. 4 in that, in step 404, it is not necessary to determine whether there is a queue corresponding to the calculated paging slot, but rather, a queue corresponding to the paging slot is searched and obtained, and the paging message is stored in the queue. Correspondingly, the process of the UPM control transmission is as follows: when each time slot arrives, judging whether the paging message is stored in the queue corresponding to the realization, if so, grouping the paging message in the queue into an empty port paging message, sending the empty port paging message in the corresponding time slot, and deleting the paging message stored in the queue after the sending is finished; otherwise, the current time slot to be arrived is not processed by sending the paging message.
Second embodiment
In this embodiment, a case where the CPM performs packet storage on paging messages received by the BS and the UPM controls transmission is described. The structure of the apparatus of the present embodiment is shown in fig. 5, and includes a control plane unit 51, a user plane unit 52, a storage unit 33, and a radio frequency unit 34.
The control plane unit 51 is configured to receive the paging message, and store the paging message in the storage unit 33 according to the paging slot corresponding to the paging message.
The user plane unit 52 is configured to, when it is determined that a packet of paging messages exists in the storage unit 33 in an upcoming time slot, group all paging messages in the packet into an air interface paging message, and instruct the radio frequency unit 34 to send the air interface paging message in the time slot.
The user plane unit 52 may retrieve the paging message of the packet from the storage unit 33 and perform the group packing in the process of packing the paging message of the packet into the air interface paging message.
A storage unit 33 for storing the paging message.
And the radio frequency unit 34 is configured to send the air interface paging message according to an instruction of the user plane unit 52.
In this embodiment, the process of processing the paging message includes: the CPM carries out the process of grouping and storing the paging messages received by the BS and the process of UPM control transmission, and the two processes are carried out in parallel. These two processes are described separately below.
The flow of the UPM performing packet storage on the received paging message is shown in fig. 6, and includes the following steps. Here, it is described as an example that the paging message is stored in a queue, and the queue is established by using a method of dynamically establishing the queue.
Step 601: the CPM in the BS receives a paging message sent by the PC for a certain MS.
Step 602: and the CPM calculates the paging time slot corresponding to the current paging message according to the paging parameters carried in the paging message.
Step 603: the CPM searches whether a queue of a corresponding paging slot exists according to the paging slot, if so, the step 604 is executed; otherwise, step 605 is executed.
Step 604: and the CPM stores the currently received paging message into the search-obtained queue. The current processing flow is ended.
Step 605: and the CPM establishes a queue aiming at the current paging message and stores the current message into the newly established queue.
The process of UPM control transmission is as follows: in the process that the CPM performs packet storage on received paging messages, before each time slot is about to arrive, the UPM judges whether a queue corresponding to the transmission time slot about to arrive exists or not, if so, all the paging messages in the corresponding queue are packaged into an air interface paging message to be broadcasted in the paging time slot about to arrive, and after the broadcasting is finished, the corresponding queue is deleted; otherwise, the current time slot to be arrived is not processed by sending the paging message.
In addition, when the CPM establishes the queue by using the preset method, the packet storage process executed by the CPM is different from the flow of fig. 6 in that, in step 603, it is not necessary to determine whether the queue corresponding to the calculated paging slot exists, but rather, the queue corresponding to the paging slot is searched and obtained, and the paging message is stored in the queue.
The method and the device provided by the embodiment of the invention are characterized in that the received paging messages are grouped according to the paging time slots corresponding to the paging messages and are sent on the corresponding time slots when the paging time slots arrive. Therefore, the method and the device provided by the embodiment of the invention can be well suitable for the condition that only one paging time slot exists in one paging group, and also suitable for the condition that a plurality of paging time slots exist in one paging group.
The method and the device provided by the embodiment of the invention can be suitable for Wimax networks or WCDMA networks.
The above description is only a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and is not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.
