发明领域
本发明涉及一种经由记录和/或再现设备和第一远程单元之间的网络通信的方法，该记录和/或再现设备能够读数据载体，该第一远程单元包括用于数据载体的附加数据。
本发明尤其与在DVD视频播放器和网站(web site)之间经由互联网的数据通信相关。
发明背景
DVD论坛已经建立了工作组AH1-12来标准化联网的DVD，以作为当前DVD视频规范的扩展。其原理是将合乎新规范的DVD视频盘链接到出版社网站来发行，所述的出版社网站包含了与所述特定DVD视频盘直接相关的附加数据。例如，该网站可包括新的导航(navigation)菜单，该导航(navigation)菜单可以被包含DVD视频盘的DVD播放器下载和用来代替原始菜单。DVD播放器和网站之间的通信应当满足电影演播室的要求，所述要求如下：

发明概述

为此，按照本发明的通信方法包括步骤：
--检测数据载体在记录和/或再现设备中的存在，并验证所述数据载体，所述步骤由可信的记录和/或再现设备执行，
--验证可信的记录和/或再现设备，所述步骤由第二远程单元执行并能够使可信的记录和/或再现设备访问附加数据。

本发明涉及在经由网络相互连接的记录和/或再现设备和远程单元之间传送数据的方法。
总的看来，本发明涉及客户/服务器结构。在客户端，记录和/或再现设备例如是家用DVD播放器或者个人计算机DVD播放器(带有内置互联网连接和协议栈)，或者是配备了小型格式因子光盘(SmallFormat Factor Optical)SFFO盘的GPRS(通用分组无线业务)或第三代移动电话。在服务器端，远程单元为具有与Web有关的业务或代理在其上运行的计算机系统。连接两端的网络为基于TCP/IP协议(传输控制协议/互联网协议)的任意类型的网络，所述协议例如是IPv4或者IPv6协议。

根据所述第四实施例的通信方法包括下列步骤：
-DVD播放器(11)连接到制造商网站(13)。

-DVD论坛网站(14)将标识符Id和密钥K返回给制造商网站(13)。
-制造商网站(13)将标识符Id和密钥K返回给DVD播放器(11)。由于DVD播放器(11)和制造商网站(13)之间的验证需要共享的秘密，这能够用来生成保证在所述播放器和所述网站之间安全通信的密钥。
-DVD播放器(11)然后使用标识符Id和密钥K能够直接并安全地和出版社网站(12)通信，并且因此访问与插入其驱动单元的合法DVD盘相对应的附加数据。
具有标识符Id和密钥K的原因在于允许不同的密钥用于每个会话，虽然这不是必需的。

在所描述的四个实施例中，第四实施例是最有利于实现的一个实施例，这是由于下列原因：
-每个制造商负责验证它们自己的播放器。
-一个公共的网站，例如DVD论坛网站，是验证过程的中心，所述网站也负责许可标准。因此易于将验证链接到标准的许可中。
-每个制造商只有唯一一个到DVD论坛网站的连接，并且不需要了解每个出版社。
-每个出版社只有唯一一个到DVD论坛网站的连接，并且不需要了解每个制造商。
但是前三个实施例比第四实施例快，因为前三个实施例不需要两个中间网站来执行DVD播放器的验证。
而且，第三实施例在许可收集方面具有优势，因为DVD论坛网站能够单独从制造商跟踪该设备并且因此能够检验来自制造商的可利用设备的数目没有超过已经支付了许可费的数目。
在下列权利要求书中的任何参考标号都不能解释为对权利要求的限制。明显地，动词“包括”及其动词变型的使用不排除在任意权利要求中所限定那些步骤和元件之外的任何其它步骤和元件的存在。在元件和步骤前面的词语“一个”不排除多个这样元件和步骤的存在。

Claims (7)

1.一种经由记录和/或再现设备(11)和第一远程单元(12)之间的网络通信的方法，该记录和/或再现设备(11)能够读数据载体，该第一远程单元(12)包括用于该数据载体的附加数据，所述方法包括步骤：
--检测数据载体在记录和/或再现设备中的存在，并验证所述数据载体，所述步骤由可信的记录和/或再现设备执行，
--验证可信的记录和/或再现设备，所述步骤由第二远程单元执行并能够使该可信的记录和/或再现设备访问附加数据。
2.一种通信系统，该系统包括记录和/或再现设备(11)、第一远程单元(12)和第二远程单元，该记录和/或再现设备(11)能够读数据载体，该第一远程单元(12)包含了用于该数据载体的附加数据，该第二远程能够验证可信的记录和/或再现设备，并使可信的记录和/或再现设备访问附加数据，可信的记录和/或再现设备能够检测数据载体在记录和/或再现设备中的存在并且能验证所述数据载体，所述设备(11)和单元经由网络通信。
3.根据权利要求2的通信系统，包括第三远程通信单元(14)，其中第二远程单元(13)由记录和再现设备(11)的制造商管理，所述第三远程单元(14)经由网络直接与第二远程单元(13)和第一远程单元(12)通信。
4.根据权利要求2的通信系统，其中，第二远程单元适于经由网络直接与记录和/或再现设备(11)和第一远程单元(12)通信。
5.根据权利要求2的通信系统，其中，第二远程单元和第一远程单元为同一实体。
6.一种远程单元，用于和能够读数据载体的记录和/或再现设备(11)通信，该远程单元包括：
-用于验证可信的记录和/或再现设备的装置，可信的记录和/或再现设备能够检测数据载体在记录和/或再现设备中的存在，并且能够验证所述数据载体，以及
-用于使该可信的记录和/或再现设备能够访问与该数据载体相对应的附加数据的装置。
7.一种能够读数据载体的记录和/或再现设备(11)，和包含用于该数据载体的附加数据的第一远程单元(12)通信，还与能够验证该记录和/或再现设备的第二远程单元通信，所述设备包括用于检测数据载体在该记录和/或再现设备中的存在的装置，以及用于验证所述数据载体的装置。
