相关技术
电视可以在相同屏幕上显示多个图像。WO 00/10327示出了捕获和存储来自电视屏幕的显示图像的一部分。该存储的工作部分是一种“快照(snapshot)”,即构成整个画面的一个静止图像。几个快照可以合并起来以创建活动的图像。本文档还示出了放大图像的一部分,而不是存储图像的一部分。
发明概要
从电视屏幕中捕获图像流的一部分并将它转向别处将是有利的。对于用户来说有几个好处。用户可以放大或者简单地复制图像流的特定部分,例如特定的演员或者特定的服装,并将它们传递给朋友或者商业伙伴(business associate)。一种商业可以指定一个人去观看大量的发送节目,并按照该商业需要所要求的,将感兴趣的特定内容选路发送给特定个体。
本发明还可以允许几个屏幕共享相同的接收机或者通信端口。通常,数字信号可以包含的信息比在一个屏幕上观看到的信息多很多。
其目的和更进一步的好处在下文中将更加显而易见。

优选实施例的详细说明
在这里,所示连接可以是有线或无线的。连接可以是电气的、红外线的、射频、光或者任何其它适当的类型。
图1A示出了根据本发明的一个系统。该系统包括数字电视101、遥控器104和第二显示设备103。正如在此使用的,术语“电视”意味着能够接收和显示电视信号的任何设备。
电视机可以被安排为显示多个移动电视图像102,102′。该多个图像可以来自多个信源,例如电缆网、卫星网、因特网、电话网络(例如ADSL)和/或地面广播网;或者它们可以来自单个信源,例如单个信道上的多个节目。当多个图像来自不同的信源时,这就意味着一个TV具有与多个信源的若干个接口(地面天线、用于电缆的调制解调器等等),并可以将该来自不同信源的节目组合和配置为多窗口的屏幕。换句话说,电缆运营商可以在该电缆运营商的“前端”将各个节目组合为一个单独的流,从而使它来自单个信源。
希望利用遥控器104选择单个子图像102′。在图1A中,存在有多个窗口屏幕,该举例说明的子102′是单个窗口。通常,希望的子图像可以是该屏幕的任何部分,并可以与一个或多个窗口相关。取一个子图像不需要多个窗口屏幕。如果该屏幕显示单个图像,那么子图像102′将是此单独图像的一部分,正如在图1B中举例说明的,其中演员之一的头部被选为子图像。
第二显示设备103可以是个人数字助理。代替第二显示设备的是,可以使用诸如VCR之类的存储设备。
遥控器104可以是可编程的并具有显示器,例如PhilipsPronto。可替换地,第二显示器可以简单地是遥控器上的显示器。
图3示出了图1中电视机和第二显示设备的更多细节。
数字电视101包括用于显示图像的屏幕310。屏幕310上子图像的内容经由存储器管理单元302传递,以便从图像存储器301转发到第二显示设备103。图像存储器301包括屏幕310上每个像素的像素存储单元。图像存储器的一部分在303被高亮度显示,以象征对应于图1A和1B中的102′的像素存储单元。
图像数据经由总线311进入电视机。图像数据可以来自许多信源,例如天线、电缆连接和/或因特网。CPU 308根据来自用户的指令决定哪个信号要发送给存储管理单元302。CPU 308可以是任何相关类型的,例如数字图像处理芯片或者图形用户界面(GUI)模块。虽然CPU被描述为在TV之内,但它同样可以实现为机顶盒。
典型地,用户将利用遥控器104与电视机通信,遥控器104与红外线探测器309通信;但也可能采取其它通信手段,例如采用射频通信的遥控器。也许,指令可以经由有线连接传递,例如来自键盘或者鼠标,或者电视机上诸如拨号盘或者按钮之类的某些控制设备。
遥控器(RC)104必须具有一种方式来定义电视屏幕的一部分,其中内容是要传送到另一显示设备的流。一种方式是,RC持有者通过左右方向和上下方向旋转RC来移动电视屏幕上的指示器。然后,当RC持有者左右方向移动RC时,该指示器在屏幕的左右方向移动;当该持有者以上下方向移动RC时,该指示器在屏幕的上下方向移动。通过旋转RC,你可以将指示器移动到电视屏幕上的任一点。这种RC实施方式可以在EP 825514中找到。
提供网卡304以便于流传送大量数据。优选地,网卡使用诸如IEEE1394或者IEEE802.11b之类的标准通信协议。网卡通过有线或者无线连接连接到网络305。网络305可以是如图1所示的单个线路;或者它可以是诸如局域网(LAN)或者因特网之类完全成熟的网络。
第二显示设备103经由它自己的网卡306接收从网络305流传送的图像。然后在它自己的显示器307上显示该流传送的图像。网卡306必须与网卡304兼容,否则网络305必须配备一种设备,它适合于将该图像变换为与网卡306兼容的格式。类似于网卡306,网卡305典型地遵循某些标准,例如IEEE1394 IEEE802.11b。网络305和第二显示设备103之间的连接可以是有线或无线的。
图2A和2B示出了举例说明本发明操作的流程图。通常,这个流程图在CPU 308中执行,但也可能远程执行或者分布式执行。
在203,打开与子图像内容流相关的用户界面。
在201,源设备(在这种情况下是电视101)被检测。在202,目标设备(在这种情况下是第二显示设备103)被检测。
在204,在屏幕上创建指示器图像。一旦用户对当前指示器位置满意,用户产生位置指定激活,这在205进行检测。通常,位置指定激活是由用户按下遥控器上的按钮而产生的,这个按钮指示点击当前的光标位置。遥控器可以具有机械按钮、触敏屏幕上的可编程按钮、或者在光标控制领域的许多已知的位置指定机制中的任何其它位置指定机制。位置指定激活将指示第一点,被称为“point1”。然后用户移动遥控器104(或者其它位置指定设备),并且这个运动在206中被跟踪。CPU导致指示器沿着位置指定设备在每个207步骤中的移动而移动。在208,检测位置指定的去激活。这通常是由用户从遥控器上的按钮或者触敏屏幕上抬起其手指所导致的结果。在检测到位置指定去激活之后,在209识别图像上的当前指示器位置,并指定为point2。
在每个214步骤中,根据point1和point2,CPU为存储管理单元302识别一部分图象数据,以便从图像存储器301中读出。如果这个部分是矩形,那么此矩形将具有在point1的第一限定角和在point2的第二限定角。第一限定角与二次限定角对角相对。虽然这个实施例考虑矩形来描述,但本领域一个普通技术人员可以容易地设计出其它形状,例如圆周,可以被指定为单击及拖动类型方案。在圆周的情况下,第一和第二点指示该圆周部分直径的端点。
在210,来自图像存储器的识别的数据部分被提供给网卡304,从那里将流传送到目标设备。
在211,CPU 308检测屏幕刷新或者帧分界,然后在212期待新指令。新的指令通常来自遥控104,并且可以以新位置指定激活的形式,或者某些其它指令。如果检测不到新的指令,继续从矩形中复制数据。如果检测到新的指令,在213测试是否关闭界面。如果界面被关闭,那么结束流程图。接口未关闭,那么控制返回到框符205。在这个当口,CPU可能执行除了检测新的位置指定激活之外的操作,例如改变音量或者色彩,但没有显示执行这种其它操作的可能性,因为它们与本发明无关。
通过读取当前公开的内容,对本技术领域的普通技术人员来说,其它改进将会是显而易见的。这种改进可以包括在数字电视的设计、制造和使用中已知的其它特征,并且这些特征可以代替或者添加到已经在此描述的特征来使用。虽然在这个申请中权利要求书已经阐述为特征的特定组合,但应该理解,当前申请公开的范围也包括在此明确或者含蓄地公开的任何新的特征或者新的特征组合,或者对它们的一般化,不管他们是否缓解了与本发明缓解的技术问题相同的全部或者任何技术问题。因此,申请人通告如下:在本申请诉讼期间或者从本申请衍生的其它任何申请期间,新的权利要求书可以阐述为这种特征。

Claims (6)

1.一种电视系统,包含:
图像存储器(303),包含可寻址的像素存储单元;
显示器(101),用于显示该像素存储单元中的像素;
输入端(309),用于接收与该显示器相关的位置信号;
处理单元,适合于执行以下操作:
响应于该位置信号,定义该图像存储器的子图像部分(303);和
在相应的多个连续屏幕刷新间隔期间,从该子图像部分读取(210)多个连续的内容;和
输出设备(304),用于将该多个连续的内容流传送到外部设备(103)。
2.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中,所述定义操作包含:
解释(205、206、207、208、209)所述位置信号以便指定所述图像存储器内的第一和第二点;
识别(214)所述图像存储器中对应于第一和第二点的一部分。
3.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中,所述输出包含网卡(304)。
4.根据权利要求1所述的系统,进一步包含:

6.一种图像处理方法,包含在电视机中执行以下操作:
显示至少一个已显示的图像;
接收与该已显示图像相关的图像位置指定信号;
识别该已显示图像的子图像;
在多个连续的屏幕刷新间隔期间,将该子图像的内容流传送到外部设备。
