Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明涉及在全功能的软件中启用和禁用软件功能，具体地说，涉及一种用于在包含多个功能的软件实现的功能集中改变可用的功能的方法。本发明还涉及软件本身和装载软件的设备。
背景技术
我们知道软件或带有软件的设备的供应商要提供具有不同功能集的相同产品的不同版本。然而，越来越多的能够实现或提供多种功能或方法的软件被开发出来，这些软件包含有对应于所有潜在的可用功能的软件模块。然后，为了适合于产生具有不同功能的软件版本或设备系列，就要启用或禁用不同的软件模块。术语“全功能软件”有时就是指这种软件。
举一个例子，应当注意到，在设备(诸如，但不限于，移动无线电话、移动无线设备、个人数字助理和计算机)中越来越多地使用到了全功能软件，并且通过有选择地启用相应的软件模块可以做出具有不同功能的不同型号或系列的产品。
用户可能希望能够从最初的可用功能集中临时地或永久性地改变软件所提供的启用的功能集，因此所希望的就是提供这样一种简单的机制，通过它可以改变全功能软件中的启用的功能集。
众所周知，软件的演示版(demonstration version)是公开的。有时可以在支付费用后将演示软件解锁以获得对软件全部功能的使用。一种已知的将软件解锁的方法需要用户向授权代理机构(authorisingagent)(诸如，软件供应商)提供用户的姓名。授权代理机构通过使用加密算法或加密代码来生成使用用户姓名解锁的代码并向用户提供该解锁代码。当用户输入解锁代码和用户姓名后，软件使用相同的加密算法和加密代码来生成确认解锁代码。如果确认解锁代码与用户提供的解锁代码相匹配，软件就可以被解锁了。
然而，一旦将软件解锁了，就不能防止将解锁了的软件复制到其它机器上的事件发生。显然这是软件提供商所不希望的。此外，没有提供一种允许逐项地启用和禁用软件功能的机制。
本发明在寻找一种至少可以部分改善现有技术的缺陷的方法。
发明内容
根据本发明所描述的实施例，向用户提供了一种功能改变方法，它用于改变包含多个功能的软件实现的功能集中的一个或多个功能的可用性。
这是通过使用功能改变密钥来实现的，功能改变密钥对功能集中的不同功能进行适当的上锁和解锁。功能改变密钥可从由软件或包含软件的设备生成的标记(token)中导出。其结果是，功能改变密钥是特定的软件或装载软件的设备所专用的，并且不能用于改变任何其它软件或设备上的功能的可用性。此外，功能改变密钥是专用于获得授权功能集的，因此可以逐项地改变功能集。
根据本发明的功能改变方法可以由(例如)软件或设备的用户、售后代表、或在销售的时候完成。此外，所述的信息交换可以通过不同的方式来完成，例如通过设备的用户界面、或通过在设备和网络服务器或其它授权设备之间的任何通信协议来完成。

具体实施方式
下面对本发明的示范实施例的描述涉及由通信设备的终端用户通过用户界面使用解锁密钥来将所希望的功能解锁。然而，本领域的一般技术人员应当理解，本发明的其它结构(arrangement)和实施例也是可能的，并且本发明并不局限于所描述的结构。此外，应当清楚地认识到，本发明可以应用于通信设备之外的设备，并且既可以应用于装载软件的设备又可以应用于软件本身。最优选地是，本发明可以用于嵌入了全功能软件的设备，诸如移动或便携式通信设备或个人数字助理。
此外，本领域一般技术人员应当可以清楚地理解，本发明并不仅仅局限于功能的解锁，而且还可以用于对功能集的任意改变，诸如功能上锁、或使用相同的功能改变密钥同时对功能集中的不同功能进行上锁和解锁。
根据本发明所描述的实施例，在示例的通信设备中提供了全功能的软件，该软件可实现多种功能。在示例的通信设备中只启用了这些功能的一个子集。
在图1中示出了根据本发明的示范实施例的通信设备100。示例的通信设备100具有微处理器110，它在存储于程序存储器130中的软件120的控制下控制通信设备的操作。通信设备100具有输入和输出设备，诸如可以让通信设备100及其用户进行交互的键盘140和显示器150。通信设备100还具有用于存储在通信设备工作期间所使用的数据的存储器160。示出的程序存储器和数据存储器是各自独立的存储器。然而它们也可以被实现为同一个存储器中的不同逻辑部分。存储器160中至少有一个部分是非易失性的。示例的通信设备还具有与天线180相连接的通信部分170。显然，在根据本发明的、不需要通信能力的其它设备中可以省略通信部分170和天线180。
存储在程序存储器130中的软件120控制通信设备的操作，并且做成软件元件或模块。软件元件121、122等中的每一个都控制一个特定的方法或功能。在所示的示例实施例中，软件元件125-129涉及启用了的软件元件125、127和128的可选功能，以使这些功能对于通信设备的用户可用。相比较而言，没有启用元件126和129，这些相应的功能对于通信设备的用户也就不可用。软件元件120实现了根据本发明的功能改变方法来改变软件元件125-129的启用状态，从而改变了相应的功能对于用户的可用性。
用户通过由软件提供的用户界面以及键盘140和显示器150来与通信设备进行交互。在图2中示出了可能会显示在显示器上的消息树的一个示例说明。尽管示例说明中示出了功能的层次结构，但是本领域一般技术人员应当清除地认识到，本发明并不一定需要这种层次结构的功能安排。
图2示出了功能125具有三个子功能126、127和129。依次地，功能127具有四个可用的操作：操作T、操作U、操作V和操作W，以及子功能128。现在，功能125、127和128是可用的，或已解锁的，而功能126和129是上锁的、或不可用的。
如果用户希望使用功能126，就必须通过启用相应的软件模块126来解锁这个功能。现在将参看图3来说明根据本发明、为了让相应的功能可用而启用软件的一部分的方法。
当通信设备显示功能树(诸如在图2中所示的功能树)的时候(步骤1)，用户可以选择希望解锁的功能。解锁过程从通信设备100接收到标记生成请求开始(步骤2)。例如，用户可以通过按下专用键或通过在用户界面中选择菜单项来请求标记。
作为对用户请求标记的响应，通信设备会生成一个标记(步骤3)。我们将参看图6来更详细地说明标记的生成。
然后，所生成的标记由通信设备发布(issue)，并接着由授权设备接收(步骤4和5)。例如，安全授权设备可以是安全网站。
完成该过程的一种方法是在通信设备100的显示器150上显示所生成的标记(步骤4)。在图4中显示了这样的显示标记的一个示例说明。
用户可以从显示器上读取该标记并将其发送到安全授权设备。然而，如同一般技术人员所显而易见的，这种传递可以用很多种不同的方式来完成。
授权设备接收到标记(步骤5)并使用从标记中得到的信息来生成授权密钥(步骤6)，然后，就用这个密钥来生成功能改变代码(步骤7)，功能改变代码由授权设备发布(步骤8)然后由通信设备100接收。
用户可以将功能改变代码从授权设备输入到通信设备100中(步骤9)。通信设备100从功能改变代码中获得授权密钥(步骤10)。通信设备对授权密钥进行检测以确认对功能释放的授权(步骤11)，如果解锁密钥有效，就会启用软件126和授权对功能126的访问(步骤12)。优选地，例如在图5中所示，随后将刷新用户界面以反映出将功能126添加到通信设备上的可用功能集中。
尽管在步骤4和5以及步骤7和8中所描述的实施例是使用用户界面的，但是这些步骤也可以通过在通信设备和授权设备之间的任何接口自动地提供。具体地说，可以通过传统邮件、电子邮件、因特网、无线互联网、蓝牙TM、语音或任何合适的通信协议在通信设备和授权设备之间传送标记和功能改变代码。具体地说，这个接口可以以安全无线访问的方式来提供，其使用通信部分170和天线180经蜂窝无线通信或无线局域网(LAN)对作为授权设备的安全服务器进行访问。
现在将参看图6更详细的描述标记和功能改变代码的组成。
作为对接收到标记请求的响应，通信设备使用标识信息和与功能相关的信息来生成标记。比较好的做法是在生成标记的时候也使用随机数。随机数的使用提供了额外的安全性和对非授权的解锁的防护。
标识信息可能是唯一地标识着软件的软件相关信息(例如，软件标识号)，它，和/或设备相关数据，和/或用户标识信息。例如，设备相关信息可以是作为通信设备唯一序列号的设备标识号(DIN)，或其它的设备标识信息。也可以使用用户标识信息，例如记录在SIM(用户标识模块)卡中的信息。此外，使用诸如通信设备的硬件版本和/或软件版本这样的信息也是很好的。通过使用这些附加信息可以提供更高的安全等级，这是因为这样可以避免对通信设备没有提供的或不支持的功能进行上锁或解锁。在图6中所示的示范实施例中，DIN、软件和硬件版本都作为标识信息在标记生成过程中使用。
功能相关信息可能是与当前的功能状态和希望的功能状态相关的信息。然而，与功能可用性的改变相关的信息可能要用其它方法来提供，例如，功能相关信息可能只与所请求的功能可用性的改变相关。优选地，功能状态由与功能集中的功能相对应的各个位(bit)的状态表示，这里“1”表示相应的功能是启用了的，“0”表示相应的功能没有启用。
优选地，如果要使用的话，功能相关信息和随机数应当存储在非易失性存储器中。
根据本发明所示的实施例，为了用标识信息和功能相关信息生成标志，首先，在密钥生成步骤60中就要用标识信息生成密钥。用于生成密钥的算法可以是一般技术人员所公知的任何合适的算法。
该密钥用于在加密步骤61中对功能相关信息进行加密。在本发明所示的实施例中，功能相关信息是与所请求功能的可用性的改变相关的信息，例如，与当前的功能状态和希望的功能状态相关。
示范实施例中，在加密步骤61中还使用了随机数delta以提高安全性。
在本发明的一个优选实施例(未示出)中，还会将付款信息加到标记中，例如，在加密步骤61中也用密钥对付款信息进行加密。
然后在加扰(scrambling)步骤62中用加密代码对加密信息进行加扰以组成要发送到授权设备的标记。加扰防止了用明码传送密钥，增加了系统的安全性。如同在前面指出的，可以用各种方法来完成传送。
解扰(unscrambling)步骤63中，在授权设备中将接收到的标记解扰以获得密钥和加密的信息。在步骤64中可以从解扰的密钥中获得DIN、软件和硬件版本信息，步骤64执行与在密钥生成步骤60中相反的操作。
然后如果使用了功能相关信息和随机数delta的话，就可以在步骤65中使用密钥来将它们解密。
因此，授权设备就具有了与软件或设备的标识相关的所有必需的信息以及所希望的功能状态信息。优选地，授权设备管理或访问与硬件/软件版本号特征相关的记录并检查所请求的功能变化的合适性。授权设备同样还处理功能改变所需要的任何支付问题，诸如功能解锁费或功能加密还款。如同在前面指出的，在本发明的优选实施例中，支付信息也是包含在标记中的。
一旦对可用功能状态的改变授权了，为了确认对所请求的功能改变的授权，授权装置就使用不可逆的操作来生成一个授权设备(AD)的授权密钥。
在本发明所描述的示范实施例中，就在步骤66中对随机数delta和密钥执行不可逆的操作，以获得AD授权密钥。然而，如同在上面指出的，使用随机数对于本发明是不重要的，可以通过对任何软件或与授权设备和通信设备所知的设备相关的信息执行不可逆的操作，来生成AD授权密钥。优选地，这个信息是从通信设备发送到授权设备的信息。具体地说，AD授权密钥可以用DIN而不是随机数来构成。由于随机数可以确保AD授权密钥和后续的功能改变请求的密钥不同，从而提供了更强的安全性，所以使用随机数是优选的。
在步骤67中对AD授权密钥和与获得授权的功能集相关的信息进行加密以生成功能改变代码。获得授权的功能集信息可能是所有状态的功能状态信息或明确地与一个或多个改变的功能状态相关的信息。在所示的实施例中，获得授权的功能集信息是新的状态信息。
在步骤67中使用的加密算法可以是与在步骤61中所使用的算法相同的算法，或者可以是不同的加密算法。在图6所示的示范实施例中，还将与时间相关的信息加到加密步骤67中以获得功能改变代码，从而提供额外的安全性。
如同在前面指出的，可能会以各种方式将授权设备发布的功能改变代码提供给通信设备。在收到功能改变代码后，通信设备100就在步骤68中将与获得授权的功能集相关的信息和AD授权密钥解密。步骤68执行与步骤67所执行的操作相反的操作。
此外，通信设备还在步骤69中使用与授权设备在步骤66中所使用的相同的信息和不可逆的操作来生成它自己的通信设备(CD)授权密钥。在所述的示范实施例中，使用随机数和密钥来生成CD授权密钥。
最后，将通信设备计算出的CD授权密钥和从接收到的解锁代码中解密出来的AD授权密钥进行比较。如果AD授权密钥与CD授权密钥匹配，设备就可以实现在获得授权的功能集信息中指定的相关功能可用性的改变，在这种情况下就可以对功能进行解锁。如果AD授权密钥与CD授权密钥不匹配，通信设备就拒绝解锁代码，通信设备不做功能可用性的改变。
可以将功能可用性改变的失败通知给用户或者授权设备。为了提高安全性，在一定次数的失败尝试之后通信设备可能会被锁住。
尽管本发明在上面是被描述为涉及单一的设备和远程的授权设备的，但是本发明也可以用其它方式实现。例如，本发明也可以在网络中实现，其中来自多个用户的功能改变请求通过网络中的单一的服务器发送，这个服务器收集标记请求然后向所连接的用户传送回功能改变代码。按照这种方式，对在“设备”端上的所描述的方法的实现就可以遍布于整个网络之中。同样地，尽管上面描述的是授权设备，但是对在“授权”端上的所描述的方法的实现也可以遍布于整个网络之中。本发明力图涵盖所有这样的修改。
显然，本发明可以安全地改变全功能软件中功能的可用性。
Claims (21)
1.一种用于改变在包含多个功能的软件实现的功能集中的可用功能的方法，其包括如下步骤：
用标识信息和功能相关信息来构成标记，并发布所述标记；
接收所述标记，并从所述标记中获得标识信息和所希望的功能相关信息；
对所述功能集中授权改变的判断进行响应，更详细的步骤是：
使用所述标识信息来生成授权密钥；
用所述授权密钥和与获得授权的功能集相关的信息来构成功能改变代码，并发布所述功能改变代码；和
接收所述功能变化代码，并从所述功能改变代码中获得所述授权密钥和与所述获得授权的功能集相关的信息；
使用所述标识信息来生成本地授权密钥；
将所述接收到的授权密钥与所述本地授权密钥进行比较；和
如果所述接收到的授权密钥与所述本地授权密钥相匹配，则实现所述获得授权的功能集。
2.一种用于改变在包含多个功能的软件实现的功能集中的可用功能的方法，其包括如下步骤：
用标识信息和功能相关信息来构成标记，并发布所述标记；
接收功能改变代码，并从所述功能改变代码中获得授权密钥和与获得授权的功能集相关的信息；
使用所述标识信息来生成本地授权密钥；
将所述接收到的授权密钥与所述本地授权密钥进行比较；和
如果所述接收到的授权密钥与所述本地授权密钥相匹配，则实现所述获得授权的功能集。
