An electrode moving method for automatically measuring the slags thickness over molten metal level is composed of probe, lifting rod, varistor, power supply, light source, photoelectric code disk, photoelectric device, amplifier-shaper circuit, calculator, A/D converter and computer. During the electrode descending, the descended distance of lifting rod when electrode loop is closed is used as surface position of slags. The descended distance of lifting rod when output of electrode loop steps down again is the interface between slags and molten metal. Their difference is just the thickness of slags.
Description
