Description
Corresponding application
The present application claims priority from the original swiss patent application No. CH070348/2021 filed on behalf of mr. David HOFMANN, month 10, 2021, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference in their entirety.
Technical Field
The present invention relates to jewelry, such as rings, earrings, body piercing jewelry or the like, with stone and/or a shoe carrying at least one stone.
Disclosure of Invention
Rings, such as finger rings, with stones are known in the art. Typically, such rings or rings comprise a ring body (ring-shaped) with a shoe in which at least one stone is embedded.
However, a drawback of the known product is that the ring and the stone are fixed to each other and cannot be simply replaced without special tools and appropriate skills. Thus, if it is desired to wear various stones of different colors and/or shapes, it is necessary to have a plurality of rings. The same drawbacks apply to, for example, earrings or other jewelry (e.g., necklaces or pendants).
It is therefore an object of the present invention to improve upon known jewelry.
Another object of the invention is to propose a system that allows the personalization of jewelry, such as rings or other jewelry, which is easy to accomplish by the wearer of the jewelry in a way that is simple to implement.
In an embodiment, the invention relates to an article, such as jewelry, comprising at least one U-shaped part (as a non-limiting example), a lever rotatable on a shaft to hinge on said part between an open and a closed position, and a second support carrying stone, said second support being intended to be embedded in said part and to be held in said part by said lever in the closed position. Preferably, the embedding is done from the side. Such embedding allows for example better assembly robustness and stability to be obtained.
In an embodiment, the second support is a shoe.
In an embodiment, the shoe carries at least one stone, such as a gemstone.
In an embodiment, the lever and the U-shaped member comprise locking means to hold the lever in the closed position.
In an embodiment, the shoe and the "U" shaped member have complementary shapes such that the shoe and member do not rotate relative to each other after the shoe is inserted. In other embodiments, such relative rotation is possible.
In an embodiment, the locking means have a complementary shape.
In an embodiment, the jewelry comprises a ring on which the U-shaped piece is mounted and forms a ring.
In an embodiment, the support comprises at least one loop allowing a chain to pass through, and the item forms a pendant. By combining with a chain, this embodiment forms a necklace, for example. The necklace may comprise one or more supports according to the invention.
In an embodiment, the support comprises at least one pin intended to pass through an apertured ring, and the article forms an earring.
In an embodiment, the parts of the jewelry are made of metal, preferably noble metal. Of course, other suitable materials are also possible: synthetic materials, and the like. The stone carried by the shoe is precious stone, semi-precious stone, or neither, or both.
In an embodiment, the application relates to a kit comprising at least one jewelry as described in the application and one or more underwire carrying different stones. Thus, a personalized kit with a ring and/or pendant and/or earring and one or more underwire may be formed, which underwire may be used with a ring, pendant or earring. The underwire may be the same, similar or different (same or different stone, same or different stone size, same or different stone color). These kits allow for a variety of combinations.
In a variant, a support can be formed which accommodates several underwires, to form jewelry, for example with several stones. In another variation, the shoe itself may carry a plurality of stones.

Detailed Description
In one embodiment, the invention relates to a ring 1 with interchangeable underwire 3.
In particular, according to one embodiment of the invention, the ring 1 (or ring) body is intended to be worn on a person's finger. Such a ring 1 has a supporting function in relation to the wearer of the article of the invention, other articles may have the same function, for example other embodiments may be earrings, body piercing ornaments, pendants etc. as described below.
In this embodiment the finger ring 1 comprises a portion 5 shaped as a "horseshoe" or "U" or any other equivalent shape to allow the removable shoe 3 to be accommodated by embedding, said shoe carrying at least one stone 6. The portion 5 and/or the lever 2 and the shoe 3 may have complementary shapes and/or means to prevent the shoe 3 from rotating after insertion. Alternatively, the shoe 3 may be designed to rotate freely after insertion.
The horseshoe-shaped portion 5 also comprises a locking system comprising a catch 2 (in the form of a lever) mounted on a shaft 4 to allow the catch 2 to rotate between an open or extended position in which the shoe 3 can be inserted into the portion 5 or removed from the portion 5, and a closed position in which the shoe is "closed" and held in the portion 5.
According to the invention, the shoe 3 is an assembly on which stone 6 is mounted by inlaying (or by other equivalent means, such as bonding). The shoe 3 is independent of the body of the ring 1 and can be replaced when the shackle 2 is deployed, thereby opening the horseshoe shaped portion 5 and allowing the shoe 3 to be inserted or removed. Of course, the shoe 3 may carry more than one stone 6.
Thus, it is easy to replace the shoe 3 on the body of the ring 1 and personalize the ring in this way. More specifically, the stone 6 and the shoe 3 can be easily exchanged by the wearer of the ring, for example to display their mood, or date or week, or to match clothing or clothing colour, or to match occasions (for example work, social activities or dining in a restaurant). The wearer can thus have several different stones mounted on a "standard" shoe and can easily change it by simply opening the horseshoe shaped portion 5, taking out the current shoe 3 and embedding another shoe 3 carrying another stone 6.
The rock material 6 mounted (e.g. by inlaying, bonding or other equivalent means) on the shoe 3 may be varied: color, shape, size, material, etc. to suit the choice of the relevant personnel when wearing jewelry.
The shackle 2 and the part 5 comprise e.g. complementary shaped locking means 7-8 to ensure that the shackle 2 remains in a stable closed position (enclosing the shoe 3 in the horseshoe shaped part 5). Preferably, when the latch reaches the closed position, a "click" is generated to indicate to the user that the system has been properly closed. Optionally, additional locking means may be devised to lock the shackle 2 in the closed position.
In another embodiment shown in fig. 2A and 2B, the jewelry is a pendant 10 of a necklace, wherein fig. 2A shows an exploded view of a portion constituting the pendant, and fig. 2B shows an installed state.
The pendant 10 includes a shoe 3', similar to the shoe 3 (e.g., carrying one or more stones) in the embodiment of fig. 1. The shoe 3' is embedded in a support 11 which is closed by a shaft mounted catch 12, similar to the embodiment of fig. 1. The support 11 is for example "U" shaped or horseshoe shaped or other equivalent shape. Once the shoe 3' is embedded in the support, the "U" shape is closed by the catch 12. The portion 11 and/or the lever 12 and the shoe 3 'may have complementary shapes and/or means to prevent the shoe 3' from rotating after insertion. Alternatively, the shoe 3' may be designed to rotate freely after insertion. Preferably, the support 11 and the catch 12 are complementarily shaped to achieve a stable closed position, and also preferably, the user also perceives a "click" when this stable closed position is achieved (see fig. 2B).
Furthermore, the support 11 comprises at least one loop 13 intended to have a chain 30 (schematically shown in fig. 2A and 2B passing through said loop) passing therethrough to form a necklace. Depending on the situation (e.g. depending on the size of the pendant 10 or the rock material 6), the support 11 may comprise a single ring 13 or more than two rings 13.
In another embodiment shown in fig. 3A and 3B, the jewelry is an earring 20, wherein fig. 3A shows an exploded view of a portion constituting a pendant, and fig. 3B shows an installed state.
The ear loop 20 includes a shoe 3", similar to the shoe 3 in the embodiment of fig. 1 or the shoe 3' in the embodiment of fig. 2A/2B.
The shoe 3 "is embedded in a support 21, for example" U "or" horseshoe ", which is closed by a catch 22 mounted on the shaft, similar to the embodiment of fig. 1. The support 21 and/or the lever 22 and the shoe 3 "may have complementary shapes and/or means to prevent the shoe 3" from rotating after insertion. Alternatively, the shoe 3 "may be designed to rotate freely after insertion. The support 21 comprises pins 23 for insertion into the apertured ring to be worn as an earring. Once the shoe 3 "is inserted into the support 21, said support 21 is closed by means of the catch 22. Preferably, the support 21 and the catch 22 are complementarily shaped to achieve a stable closed position, and also preferably, the user also perceives a "click" when this stable closed position is achieved (see fig. 3B).
In a variant, the underwires 3, 3 'and 3 "are identical, such that the same underwire 3/3/3'" can be mounted on a finger ring (ring configuration, fig. 1), pendant (necklace configuration, fig. 2A/2B) or pin (earring configuration, fig. 3A/3B). This increases the possibilities of personalisation of jewelry worn by the same person.
Any suitable material may be used to make the various parts of the device: such as a metal and/or noble metal, an alloy, etc., and/or any equivalent materials.
As mentioned above, the principles of the present invention are applicable not only to rings, but also to other jewelry: suspending drop, necklace, earring, body piercing ornament (e.g., by using pin 23), etc.
The embodiments described in this disclosure are illustrative examples and should not be considered as limiting. For example, other embodiments may be employed as equivalent means to those described for example. The embodiments may also be combined with each other as the case may be, or means used in one embodiment may also be used in another embodiment.
