Detailed Description
Other advantages and effects of the present invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art from the following disclosure, which describes the embodiments of the present invention with reference to specific examples. The invention may be practiced or carried out in other embodiments that depart from the specific details, and the details of the present description may be modified or varied from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
When the indexable cutting insert needs to switch the cutting edge by rotation, the conventional common practice is to screw out the fastening screw by using a tool, detach the fastening screw and the insert from the insert holder after the fastening screw is separated from the screw hole; then, after the blade is rotated to a proper angle, the blade and the fastening screw are placed on the blade seat; finally, the fastening screw is screwed in, and the blade is fixed on the blade seat again through the mounting hole and the screw hole. This method requires complete removal of the fastening screw and blade, which is prone to falling and loss, and the reinstallation step is cumbersome and time consuming.
Referring to fig. 1-7, an indexable cutting tool 1 according to an embodiment of the present application includes a tool holder 2 and an indexable insert 3 mounted on the tool holder 2, and a fastening screw 4 for mounting the fixed insert 3.

The depth of the application takes the central axis B as a reference system. The depth of the screw hole is greater than the depth of the third recess to such an extent that the fastening screw remains threadedly connected to the screw hole when the fastening screw is screwed out by a length equal to the depth of the third recess. For example, assuming the depth of the third recess is H, the fastening screw should remain threadedly connected to the screw hole when the fastening screw is screwed out by the length H.
The application method of the embodiment is as follows: when the insert needs to switch the cutting edge by rotation, firstly screwing the fastening screw out of the depth of a third concave part by using a tool; it should be noted that, since the depth of the screw hole is greater than the depth of the third recess, the fastening screw is not separated from the screw hole at this time, and the fastening screw is still in threaded connection with the screw hole; the blade is then raised to the highest point (the highest point of the blade being defined by the cap of the tightening screw) and simultaneously turned to the proper angle for the cutting edge to be available after installation; the blade is then reinstalled in the blade holder and finally the tightening screw is screwed in to re-secure the blade to the blade holder.
The cutting tool and the method provided by the embodiment enable the fastening screw and the blade not to be completely detached when the blade is indexed, prevent the blade and the fastening screw from dropping and losing, and enable the step of reinstalling the blade and the fastening screw to be simpler and quicker.
The insert is rotationally symmetrical about the central axis B.
The cutting side and the mounting side are both perpendicular to the first plane.
