技术领域
本发明一般地涉及医疗废物的销毁,并且更具体地涉及一种具有遮光条(blackout strip)以防止容器部分的过度填充的利器容器(sharps container)。
背景技术
与医疗废物的销毁和净化相关联的问题是众所周知的。注射器、塑料血袋、金属夹、软管等给处置带来了巨大的问题。它们不仅由于对处置人员的安全性风险和健康合规性规定而难以处理,而且它们还受到病毒和细菌性病原体的污染,这使得它们的处置变得危险。这些物品必须经过净化、使其无害化并被处置,以防止疾病传播,并避免接近使用过的针头和注射器、刺伤,以及为了环境卫生(general sanitation)目的。
适合于处置医院废物的设备是已知的。但是,它们受到许多限制,诸如安全性问题,包括泄漏和其它缺点,这使得它们不特别适合雇用相对不熟练的工人作为操作者的机构应用。而且,由于这些设备被用于处置玻璃、塑料和其它器具,因此设备的磨损相当大。用户一般无法将设备保持在适当的范围和状况以及保持在存储和填充要求内以避免损坏。因此,他们要求在工作人员中有熟练的医疗废物处置人员,或者频繁致电医疗废物处置人员。
自从一次性注射器和其它一次性医疗制品的出现以来,也出现了对防止它们的误用和盗窃的方法的需要。现在医院里有大量的这些物品,这些物品在使用后必须通过某种方法或另一种方法进行清点,所有这些方法都花费宝贵的时间。盗窃用过的注射器用于非法静脉内药物使用和/或药物转移的问题日益严重。
通常,注射器和针头被简单地扔进利器容器中并存储,直到设施的废物处理和处置人员收集容器为止。整个注射器和针头的存储还给废物处置收集人员带来安全性风险并且在收集期间由于容器常常过度填充而造成刺伤。存在容器破裂和收集人员意外被污染的针头刺到的可能性。联合国已将这个问题确定为世界范围的健康问题并且制定了关于利器容器的填充的指导方针。
利器容器被附着到墙上并且在几乎每个医院病房、诊所和疗养院以及公共场所中都可以找到利器容器。联邦和联合国全球指导方针要求利器容器不得被填充至超过其容量的四分之三。利器容器被定位在柜子或存储设备内部的光发射器与光接收器之间。放置利器容器的区域必须时常被清洁。清洁可以改变光发射器和光接收器的高度并且取决于容器尺寸。
利器容器被过度填充,因为目前没有什么可以阻止这种情况发生。从FDA得到510K许可的容器将在塑料中或标签上为客户提供填充线,但没有阻止过度填充的机制。此外,如果客户填充到3/4线,那么他们就需要花费更多的钱购买另一个容器用于医疗废物收集,这也是附加的成本,因此实际上没有动机不过度填充。
利器容器的用户可能想要欺骗并将利器容器的容积填充到多于四分之三以节省在容器、消毒和处置方面的费用。最后,利器容器的不同高度要求调整光发射器和接收器。如果调整得太高,那么利器容器的多于四分之三将被填充。
因而,本领域明显需要提供具有遮光条的利器容器,以防止由于光发射器调整不当或用户想要过度填充以节省成本而导致利器容器的过度填充。
发明内容
本发明提供了一种带有遮光条的利器容器,以防止利器容器的过度填充。利器容器包括容器部分和可闭合的盖子。利器容器包括具有至少一个壁的任何合适的横截面形状。容器部分由透光或透明材料制成,使得任何合适的光可以通过利器容器的至少一个壁照射。容器部分的上部周边经过处理,使得光不会通过容器部分的容积的上部百分之二十五照射。优选地将不透明带、不透明涂料、不透明塑料、不透明印刷墨水或任何其它合适的不透明处理物施加到容器部分的外周边以防止光穿过容器部分。容器的至少一个壁被处理。不透明处理物也可以施加到容器部分的上部内周边。
因而,本发明的一个目的是提供一种具有遮光条的利器容器,以防止由于光发射器调整不当或用户想要过度填充以节省成本而导致容器部分的过度填充。
本发明的这些和附加的目的、优点、特征和益处将从以下说明书中变得清楚。

具体实施方式
现在参考附图,特别是图1,示出了利器容器1的透视图。利器容器1包括容器部分10和可闭合的盖子12。可闭合的盖子12保持在容器部分10的顶部。可闭合的盖子12包括滑动门15。参考图2-图3,在从利器壳体100移除之后,滑动门15被闭合。容器部分10包括具有至少一个壁14的任何合适的横截面形状。容器部分10由透光或透明材料制成,使得任何合适的光可以通过至少一个壁14照射。
容器部分10的上部周边包括不透明处理物16,使得光不会通过容器部分10的上部百分之二十五(优选地按容积计)照射。优选地将不透明带、不透明涂料、不透明印刷墨水、不透明塑料或任何其它合适的处理物施加到利器容器的外周边以防止光穿过容器部分10。不透明处理物16也可以被模制到容器部分10中。至少容器部分10的仅一个壁14的上部被处理。不透明处理物16也可以施加在容器部分10的上部内周边。
参考图2,光发射器102被保持在高度可调整的发射器基座(pedestal)104中。光接收器106被保持在高度可调整的接收器基座108中。光发射器102和光接收器106位于利器壳体100内。发射器基座104包括发射器基部(base)110、发射器调整设备111和发射器保持器112。发射器调整设备111被操纵以改变发射器保持器112相对于发射器基部110的垂直高度。接收器基座108包括接收器基部114、接收器调整设备115和接收器保持器116。接收器调整设备115被操纵以改变接收器保持器116相对于接收器基部114的垂直高度。
参考图3-图5,来自光发射器102的光通过容器部分10照射并被光接收器106接收。利器壳体100包括活板门120和门致动器122。活板门120在穿过利器壳体100的顶部形成的利器槽124下方枢转(pivot)。活板门120防止利器通过利器槽124存积到位于利器壳体100顶部的粉碎设备(未示出)中。当容器部分10填充有固体废物118时,来自光发射器102的光将不会被光接收器106接收。当光接收器106没有接收到光时,光接收器106向微处理器105发送电信号。微处理器105向门致动器122供电以闭合活板门102,并利用WiFi、RFD等通过无线发送器126向无线设备128或闪烁的指示灯发送消息。无线设备128由维护人员保持。无线设备128接收从利器壳体100移除装满的利器容器1的消息。可以使用唯一设备标识符来识别哪个利器壳体100需要更换。维护人员负责从利器壳体100中移除利器容器1并插入空的利器容器1。如果光发射器102和光接收器106被设置得太高,那么不透明处理物16将防止光被光接收器106接收。
虽然已经示出和描述了本发明的特定实施例,但是对于本领域技术人员来说清楚的是,可以在不脱离本发明更广泛方面的情况下进行改变和修改,因此,所附权利要求中的目的是覆盖落入本发明的真实精神和范围内的所有此类改变和修改。

Claims (12)

1.一种具有遮光条的利器容器,利器壳体中光发射器将光通过所述利器容器照射到光接收器,所述遮光条不允许光穿透所述利器容器,如果光接收器没有接收到光,那么利器壳体中的活板门被闭合以防止所述容器被填充,所述具有遮光条的利器容器包括:
具有至少一个壁的容器,所述容器由透光或透明材料制成,处理物被施加到所述至少一个壁的上部四分之一,所述处理物不允许光穿过所述至少一个壁。
2.如权利要求1所述的具有遮光条的利器容器,其中:
可闭合的盖子保持在所述容器的顶部,所述可闭合的盖子包括滑动门。
3.如权利要求1所述的具有遮光条的利器容器,其中:
所述处理物是不透明带或不透明塑料条。
4.如权利要求1所述的具有遮光条的利器容器,其中:

7.一种防止容器被过度填充的方法,包括以下步骤:
将所述容器保持在利器壳体中,该利器壳体包括槽和活板门,该活板门防止利器通过槽插入所述容器中;
将所述容器定位在利器壳体中的光发射器与光接收器之间;以及
为所述容器提供至少一个壁,所述容器由透光或透明材料制成,处理物被施加到所述至少一个壁的上部四分之一,所述处理物不允许来自所述光发射器的光穿过所述至少一个壁,如果光接收器没有接收到来自光发射器的光,那么从光接收器发送用于闭合活板门的信号。
8.如权利要求7所述的防止利器容器被过度填充的方法,包括以下步骤:
提供用于保持在所述容器的顶部上的可闭合的盖子,所述可闭合的盖子包括滑动门。
9.如权利要求7所述的防止利器容器被过度填充的方法,包括以下步骤:
将所述处理物提供为不透明带或不透明塑料条。
10.如权利要求7所述的防止利器容器被过度填充的方法,包括以下步骤:
将所述处理物提供为不透明涂料。
11.如权利要求7所述的防止利器容器被过度填充的方法,包括以下步骤:
将所述处理物提供为不透明墨水。
12.如权利要求7所述的防止利器容器被过度填充的方法,其中:
