Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of printing and imaging, in particular to a consumable chip, a production method and a consumable box.
Background
In a printing apparatus, a replaceable consumable cartridge is generally configured, and a coloring material, such as carbon powder or ink, for forming images or characters is accommodated in the consumable cartridge. On the consumable box, in order to record the use condition of the consumable box and authenticate the source of the consumable box, a consumable chip is often further arranged. The consumable chip comprises a memory, and the use condition information of the consumable box and the authentication information of the consumable box are accessed. The printing apparatus may be an inkjet printer, a laser printer, a copier, a multifunctional integrated machine, or the like.
However, in some consumable chips, in order to increase the degree of identification thereof, a printing apparatus manufacturer stores manufacturer information and copyright information in the consumable chip of its consumable cartridge. The manufacturer information is used to indicate the manufacturer of the consumable cartridge or its brand, and the copyright information is used to indicate that the data stored in the consumable chip is copyrighted. In general, when manufacturer information indicates that the brand of the consumable chip is consistent with the brand of the printing apparatus, the manufacturer information on the consumable chip may be referred to as original information. In contrast, when manufacturer information stored in the consumable chip does not coincide with the brand of the printing apparatus, the manufacturer information is defined as non-original information. Consumable cartridges manufactured and sold by printing equipment manufacturers are also commonly referred to as original consumable cartridges, and corresponding consumable chips are referred to as original consumable chips.
A third party manufacturer may manufacture compatible consumable cartridges and compatible consumable chips suitable for use with the printing apparatus described above. However, when other third party vendors also manufacture consumable chips compatible with these printing apparatuses, it is often only the manufacturer information that is modified to be non-original information or other information, and such copyright information is still stored in the consumable chip, resulting in the case where the copyright information is ignored or misused.
On the other hand, copyright information stored in a part of consumable chips is related to print configuration, for example, color adjustment information configured for coloring materials stored in consumable cartridges, which are matched with coloring materials stored in original consumable cartridges, enabling improvement of print quality. When the used original consumable cartridge is recycled by a third party for environmental protection, the coloring material added by the third party is often different from the coloring material of the original consumable cartridge. On the used consumable cartridge, if the consumable chip still stores the copyright information of the original consumable chip, the color adjustment information in the copyright information is not matched with the coloring material contained in the recovered consumable cartridge, and thus the matching (the copyright information stored by the consumable chip is not matched with the coloring material contained in the consumable cartridge) may cause the degradation of the printing quality.

Detailed Description
The invention is described in further detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
The embodiment of the invention provides a consumable chip, which is suitable for printing equipment and is used for avoiding neglecting and misuse of copyright information stored in the consumable chip and possible degradation of printing quality, as shown in fig. 1, manufacturer information and rewritten copyright information are stored in the consumable chip, wherein the rewritten copyright information is different from the copyright information written in an original chip by a manufacturer of the printing equipment; when the consumable chip is installed on the printing equipment, the consumable chip can respond to a reading request of the printing equipment to send manufacturer information and rewritten copyright information to the printing equipment, so that the printing equipment prompts related information related to the manufacturer information and/or the rewritten copyright information, namely, when the consumable chip is installed on the printing equipment, the printing equipment can read data of addresses of the manufacturer information and the rewritten copyright information in the consumable chip, and prompts related information according to the read manufacturer information and/or the rewritten copyright information.
In contrast, when the manufacturer information stored in the consumable chip does not coincide with the brand of the printing apparatus, the manufacturer information is defined as non-original information, that is, the non-original information indicates that the manufacturer is not the manufacturer of the printing apparatus. For example, when the brand of the printing apparatus is "ABC", if the manufacturer information stored in the consumable chip is also "ABC", the original information is stored in the consumable chip. When the manufacturer information stored in the consumable chip is not "ABC", for example, "AC", "A6C", "AB", "000" or "BC" is stored, such inconsistent manufacturer information is non-original information. According to the actual needs, the consumable chip can store original information and also can store non-original information. When the consumable chip is an original consumable box for installation in recycling, original information can be stored in the consumable chip, so that the consumable chip can also store the original information and the rewritten copyright information. When the consumable chip is used on a compatible consumable box of a third party, in order to avoid that a user confuses the source of a product, for example, the consumable chip is prevented from being prompted to be original consumable on a display of the printing equipment or an application or a printed consumable status page on a computer when the consumable chip is mounted on the printing equipment, the consumable chip can select to store non-original information, namely, the consumable chip stores the non-original information and rewritten copyright information. In the prior art, when the consumable chip stores original manufacturer information (i.e., original information), the printing device prompts the original brand, for example, the original manufacturer information is "ABC", and the printing device prompts "ABC"; however, when the consumable chip stores specific non-original brand information (i.e., non-original information), only information such as "non-original" is presented, but specific non-original manufacturer information is not presented, for example, the non-original brand information is "AC", and the printing apparatus does not present "AC" but presents "NO-ABC".
In some embodiments, the printing device prompting related information associated with manufacturer information and/or post-rewritten copyright information may include prompting a specified brand or non-specified brand, i.e., when the consumable chip stores original information, the printing device may be prompted by an application on a display or computer of the printing device or on a printed consumable status page to be the original consumable (i.e., consistent with the brand of the printing device, referred to as the specified brand) when the consumable chip is installed to the printing device; when the consumable chip is mounted to the printing device, the printing device can prompt the printing device to be a non-original consumable (namely inconsistent with the brand of the printing device and called a non-designated brand) through a display of the printing device or an application on a computer or a printed consumable status page; the display of the printing equipment or the application or the printed consumable status page on the computer prompts that the consumable or the printed consumable status page is original consumable or non-original consumable, and the display of the printing equipment or the application or the printed consumable status page on the computer is realized by sending an original consumable or non-original consumable prompt signal to the display of the printing equipment by the printing equipment.
In other embodiments, in addition to the above two information, other information about the consumable cartridge may be stored in the consumable chip. Other information about the consumable cartridge may be date of manufacture, colorant similarity, color, capacity, remaining amount, expiration date, authentication data for the consumable cartridge, and the like.
In some embodiments, the consumable chip stores, in addition to the manufacturer information, identification information related to the manufacturer information, for example, when the manufacturer information is original information, the identification information is 01; and when the manufacturer information is non-original information, the identification information is modified and rewritten to 00.
The copyright information stored in the original consumable chip is used for indicating that the data stored in the consumable chip is protected by copyright, and the copyright of the data is attributed to the manufacturer of the printing equipment. In general, copyright information stored in an original consumable chip includes a copyright statement portion and a copyright content portion. A copyright notice section, typically including copyright notice, ownership, and year information, e.g., when the manufacturer of the original consumable chip is "ABC", then the copyright notice may be "(c) ABC,2022" or "ABC, 2022). And a copyrighted content section records works conforming to legal definition, such as a written work, a photographic work, a pictorial work, a musical work, a video work, and the like.
In other embodiments, the copyright information may further include verification information related to the copyright information, so that after the printing device reads the copyright information, the read copyright information is verified, that is, when the consumable chip is mounted to the printing device, the consumable chip may send the copyright information to the printing device in response to a reading request of the printing device, so that the printing device verifies the read copyright information.
In the invention, in order to avoid misuse of copyright information stored in an original consumable chip or possible degradation of printing quality, the copyright information is rewritten, and the rewritten copyright information is stored in the consumable chip of the invention. The rewritten copyright information does not belong to the manufacturer of the printing apparatus, i.e., the rewritten copyright information is different from the copyright information written in the original chip by the manufacturer of the printing apparatus.
The copyright information after being rewritten is to rewrite the copyright notice part and/or the copyright content part, namely, when the copyright information is rewritten, only the copyright notice part, only the copyright content part, and both the copyright notice part and the copyright content part can be modified. When the copyright notice portion is modified, the version notice portion may be deleted directly, or the owner may be modified to other values, for example, the manufacturer is "LLC", and may be modified to "(c) LLC,2022", so that the rewritten copyright information does not belong to the manufacturer ABC of the printing apparatus, indicating that the consumable chip is produced by a compatible manufacturer, and when the printing apparatus prompts a non-specified brand, the printing apparatus may prompt the specific manufacturer information of the consumable chip to be "LLC" according to the modified "(c) LLC,2022" at the copyright prompt position of the printing apparatus. When the copyrighted content portion is modified, the copyrighted content may be deleted entirely, partially, or replaced.
In some embodiments, the copyrighted content portion may include data related to color adjustment, i.e., the copyrighted information may have stored therein data related to color configuration, and if identified as having copyrighted information that meets a preset specification, the printing device may employ the color configuration in the copyrighted information. However, the coloring material of the compatible consumable cartridge is generally different from the coloring material of the original consumable cartridge, and if the color is configured by directly adopting the copyright information in the compatible consumable chip, the printing color is likely to be abnormal. Therefore, it is necessary to modify the copyright information so as not to belong to the manufacturer of the printing apparatus. Therefore, when a part of the printing devices read the copyright information, and the rewritten copyright information is identified not to belong to the manufacturer of the printing devices, the printing operation of the printing devices is configured without utilizing the copyright content in the copyright information, so that the rewritten copyright information is stored in the consumable chip, and the degradation of the printing quality can be avoided.
In some embodiments, when the part of the printing device reads the copyright information, if the information of the copyright content part is not recognized to be in accordance with the expectation of the printing device, the printing operation of the printing device is configured without using the copyright content in the copyright information, so that the degradation of the printing quality can be avoided by modifying the copyright content in the copyright information. Therefore, the consumable chip of the invention can store the rewritten copyright information, and the rewritten copyright information is different from the copyright content of the copyright information in the original consumable chip.
The information stored in the consumable chip can be generally classified into readable and writable information, rule rewrite information, and read-only information. The readable and writable information is information without rewrite limitation. The rule rewriting information is information that needs to be rewritten in compliance with a certain rule, for example, can be rewritten only for a large amount, can be changed from 0 to 1, can be rewritten only when verification is satisfied, and needs to be subtracted. Read-only information, as the name suggests, is only readable and not rewritable. Copyright data in an original consumable chip is generally stored in a read-only storage area and belongs to read-only information. The invention can set the information as readable and writable information or rule rewriting information according to actual needs, even if the read-write attribute of the rewritten copyright information is a non-read-only attribute, the copyright information stored in production can be rewritten or rewritten according to different dealers after sales. Therefore, in the consumable chip of the invention, the stored rewritten copyright information can be the copyright information of a third party manufacturer or the copyright information of a distributor, and is the replacement of the copyright information of the original consumable chip.
In the consumable chip, the location where the copyright information is stored may be behind the underlying information. The basic information includes a model number, authentication data, manufacturer information, a production date, a type of coloring material, a use condition (e.g., a remaining amount or a consumption amount) of the coloring material, and the number of pages that have been printed, which may be the consumable cartridge. The coloring material may be carbon powder, ink, liquid carbon powder, pigment, or the like. When the printing device accesses the consumable chip, the base information is accessed first, and then the copyright information is accessed, because the copyright information is not information which needs to be known first. And after the consumable chip passes the authentication of the printing equipment, the printing equipment considers that the source of the consumable chip is legal, and then the copyright information is accessed, so that the method is a processing mode for saving the memory of the printing equipment.
The embodiment of the invention provides a consumable chip production method, as shown in fig. 2, which comprises the following steps:
s100: providing a consumable chip comprising a memory portion;
s200: the manufacturer information and the rewritten copyright information are stored in the storage section.
In the present embodiment, the manufacturer information and the rewritten copyright information are stored in the storage section of the consumable chip, and the rewritten copyright information is different from the copyright information written in the original chip by the manufacturer of the printing apparatus; the consumable chip is configured to transmit, when mounted to the printing apparatus, the manufacturer information and the rewritten copyright information to the printing apparatus in response to a read request of the printing apparatus, so that the printing apparatus prompts the relevant information associated with the manufacturer information and/or the rewritten copyright information.
When the consumable chip is used on a compatible consumable box of a third party, the consumable chip can select to store non-original information in order to avoid users from confusing sources of products. When the consumable chip is an original consumable cartridge for installation in recycling, original information can be stored in the consumable chip.
The authentication data referred to by the invention can comprise one or more of a chip serial number, a consumable serial number, an authentication code, a carbon powder serial number, an ink serial number, a digital signature, seed (seed) data or check data; data associated therewith may also be included, for example, if the serial number is related to a date of manufacture, the authentication data may include, in addition to the serial number, date of manufacture information related thereto. In the consumable chip, other information about the consumable cartridge may also be stored. The consumable cartridge may be, for example, a cartridge for a printing apparatus, a copying apparatus, a cartridge for a toner, a cartridge, or the like.
As shown in fig. 3, the consumable chip includes an interface module and a storage portion that stores rewritten copyright information and other information about the consumable cartridge. The interface module may in particular be a contact point, an antenna or a coil for connecting to the printing device, receiving a communication signal from the printing device and transmitting a communication signal to the printing device, i.e. receiving a read request from the printing device, and in response to the read request from the printing device, for example transmitting manufacturer information and rewritten copyright information to the printing device.
The embodiment of the invention provides a consumable cartridge, as shown in fig. 4, which comprises the consumable chip.
The memory part in the consumable chip can adopt a common nonvolatile memory, such as EPROM, EEPROM, FLASH, ferroelectric memory, phase change memory and the like, and can also adopt a scheme of adding a power supply to the volatile memory, such as SRAM+battery or capacitor, DRAM+battery or capacitor.
What has been described above is merely some embodiments of the present invention. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and improvements can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention.
